Habahe County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the south foot of Altay Mountain, the northwest edge of Xinjiang, bordering on Kazakhstan and Russia in the West and north respectively, with a border line of 282.6 km, and bordering burjin county and Jimunai County in the East and south.

It has won national honors such as national health county and National Garden County. In 2018, the national health county (township) was reconfirmed. On October 9, 2020, it was awarded the title of the fourth batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration cities and counties by the Ministry of ecological environment. Historical evolution
Habahe County is named after Habahe. Haba, a Mongolian word, means that the river bed is steep and often falls into the water. It means "sea bass" (i.e. wudaohei) fish, which refers to a small fish. Therefore, the river produces this fish, hence its name. Kazakh can also be interpreted as dense forest. "Xiyu pictorial records" said: "Zhun language Haba is the name of small fish, the river out of this small fish name." It is also known as Akeqi, which means Bletilla striata in Kazakh language. In the past, it was the beach of Bletilla striata, so it was named.
In the history of Habahe County, there were Cypriots, Huns, West Turks and Xianbei living here.
In the Tang Dynasty, Habahe County was under the jurisdiction of Beiting capital.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Habahe County belongs to the Shangshu province of balihang.
The Qing Dynasty was under the command of deputy general Dingbian of uliyasutai.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Haba river was a new turhute Mongolian Nomadic land in Qingse teletu League, which was under the jurisdiction of counsellor kebudo first, and then under the control of minister Altay.
In 1903, Habahe Tun Bureau was set up.
The first year of the Republic of China (1912) set up Habahe governance Bureau.
In the ninth year of the Republic of China (1920), the county was changed to be subordinate to Burqin county.
In 1921, Habahe County was established.
