Evolution of organizational system
Yutian county belongs to Jimi state in the Western Han Dynasty; in the second year of shenjue (60 years ago), the Western Han Dynasty established the Duhufu of the western regions, and Jimi is one of the 36 states led by Duhufu of the western regions.
During the Three Kingdoms period, Jimi was annexed by Khotan.
In the Song Dynasty, the karahan Dynasty captured Khotan in the fourth year of Xianping (1001), and the Yutian people converted from Buddhism and Manichaeism to Islam.
From the second half of the 13th century to the 17th century, Yutian area belonged to the Mongolian Chagatai Khanate.
