Dadukou District Dadukou District, located in the southwest of Chongqing, is the main urban area and metropolitan area of Chongqing. It is an important part of Chongqing metropolitan area and one of the 12 groups in the downtown area of Chongqing. It was established in 1965.
Dadukou District is adjacent to Banan District in the East, Jiangjin District in the South and Jiulongpo District in the West and North. By the end of 2017, Dadukou District had jurisdiction over 5 streets and 3 towns, with an area of 102.83 square kilometers and a permanent resident population of 340000.
The tourism resources of Dadukou District are mainly natural landscape and human resources, including Jinao mountain, Jianshi mountain, Dadukou Forest Park, Dadukou Yidu Park, Masangxi ancient town, Yanxing paper-cut, etc.

Historical evolution
In the pre Qin period, Dadukou belonged to Jiangzhou, the state of Bazi.
During the Qin and Han Dynasties, the area belonged to Jiangzhou County, Bajun county.
During the northern and Southern Dynasties, in 487, Jiangzhou county was changed to Dianjiang County, and the territory belonged to Dianjiang County; in 561, Dianjiang County and Zhixian county were replaced by Baxian County, and the territory belonged to Baxian county.
From Sui, Tang to the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, it was Baxian County of Yuzhou. From the end of the Northern Song Dynasty to the beginning of the Southern Song Dynasty, it was Baxian County of Gongzhou. In the 16th year of Chunxi in the Southern Song Dynasty (1189), it was Baxian County of Chongqing Prefecture.
In Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty, Baxian county was still under the jurisdiction of the district.
Dadukou was originally named beidukou. In 1899, Yidu was set up at masang River on the North Bank of the Yangtze River in Baxian county. The river is wide and the water is slow. There are many people crossing the river. The scale of the ferry is the first along the river for tens of miles. It is called "Dadukou".
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, in 1965, Chongqing Municipal People's government established Dadukou District, covering an area of 7.46 square kilometers, in order to serve Chongqing Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.; after the zoning adjustment in 1995, the area under its jurisdiction was expanded to 103 square kilometers.

Dadukou District is located in the south of Chongqing City, between 106 ° 23 '- 106 ° 31' e and 29 ° 20 '- 29 ° 30' n. In the southeast, it faces Huaxi town and Yudong street in Banan District and Luohuang town in Jiangjin district across the river. In the northeast and southwest, it is adjacent to Jiulong Town, Zhongliangshan Town, Tongguanyi Town, taojia Town, Shiban town and Huayan Town in Jiulongpo District. It is 17.25 kilometers long from north to South and 13.75 kilometers wide from east to west, covering an area of 102.83 square kilometers.
Geology and geomorphology
Dadukou area is located in the arc-shaped structural belt of Southeast Sichuan, Southeast of Huayingshan broom shaped fold cluster and East Wing of guanyinxia anticline. Its structural framework was formed in the late Yanshanian fold movement. The structural features from west to East are Zhongliangshan fault zone, jinaosi (Hualongqiao) syncline, longwangdong anticline, Shapingba to Chongqing Jiefangbei syncline. The folds in the area are gentle and open with gentle dip. The axis and wing are composed of sandstone and mudstone of shangshaximiao formation. The fold dip angle is 2-8 ° and the rock occurrence is gentle with dip angle of 3-15 °. Zhongliangshan fault zone passes through the area from the southwest of Dadukou District, which is a compression torsion thrust fault.
Scenery of Dadukou District
Dadukou area belongs to the parallel range valley area in East Sichuan. The geomorphic type is affected by the lithology and geological structure of the stratum. The anticline generally uplifts into mountains, and the syncline erodes for a long time to form hills. The whole area changes from northwest to Southeast in a ladder shape, gradually from high to low. In the west, it belongs to Zhongliang mountains, mainly low mountains, with the highest elevation of 650 meters. In the middle and Southeast, it is mainly medium hills, shallow hills, flat dams and terraces along the river. The lowest point is located at the exit of the Yangtze River, with an elevation of 150 meters and a relative elevation difference of 500 meters.

Geothermal resources
The karst troughs formed by the lower Triassic carbonate rocks in the axial or near axial part of the Guanyinyan anticline in Dadukou District gather atmospheric precipitation to the depth of the strata, and the groundwater temperature increases with the increase of geothermal temperature and chemical heat. The geothermal reserves consist of three parts: the first is the thermal reserves horizon, which is composed of carbonate strata of Jialingjiang formation of Lower Triassic and Leikoupo Formation of Middle Triassic, with a thickness of 500m. The second is thermal reservoir cap rock, which is composed of clastic rock layer of Xujiahe formation of Upper Triassic and red rock mudstone sandstone layer of Jurassic, with a thickness of more than 1000m. The third is the water resisting stratum in the lower part of the thermal reservoir, which is mainly composed of clastic rocks intercalated with carbonate rocks of Feixianguan Formation of Triassic, with a thickness of more than 500 meters.
