Yongning County Yongning County is subordinate to Yinchuan city. It is located in the middle of the Yellow River irrigation area of Yinchuan Plain in Ningxia, adjacent to the Yellow River in the East and Helan Mountain in the West. It is a suburb of Yinchuan City, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and is located in the south of Yinchuan city. In 2016, Yongning County achieved a GDP of 12.536 billion yuan. In October 2017, Yongning County was named National Garden County by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development. In November 2017, Yongning County was rated as "China's top ten quality leisure counties and cities in 2017". In November 2017, it was awarded the national advanced city (District) for ideological and moral construction of minors. According to archaeological excavations, there was human life in Yongning in the late Paleolithic period, 30000 years ago.
Before the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to the northern nomadic tribes such as Beidi and Xirong.

Baojing, Lingwu and Huaiyuan in the five dynasties all abandoned the county as a town, belonging to the Lingzhou Prefecture of Shuofang.
In the Northern Song Dynasty, it belonged to four states, namely, Jingzhou (near wanghong town), shunzhou (West of shaogangbao), huaizhou (south of Zhangzheng township) and Yongzhou (near yanghebao).

In 1725, Yongning belonged to Ningxia and ningshuo counties.
On April 1, 1941, Yongning County was established. When Yongning County was established, the village fortresses in the East and north of ningshuo county at that time were wanghong, Wangtai, Yanghe, wangquan, Zenggang, Jingyi, Weixin, Xincheng, etc.; the village fortresses in the East and south of Ningxia county at that time were Tonggui, tongshuo (now YONGGU), Zhenhe, Zhangzheng, Xuqiang, Xuwang, Yangxian, Fengying, etc. He began to live in wanghumboldt and moved to yanghepu a few months later. At that time, there were 14 townships in the county, named after the number.
On September 23, 1949, Yongning was liberated. On September 28, the first people's Government of Yongning County was established, which is subordinate to Ningxia Province. The system of district and township was implemented, and the county was reorganized into 7 districts and 55 townships.
In 1950, after two adjustments, it was divided into six districts and 48 townships.
In June 1951, six and a half townships in four districts and three and a half townships in six districts were assigned to Yinchuan city. The five whole townships and two incomplete townships in the former four and six districts of Yinchuan city were reorganized into six townships. The name of the district was changed to the fourth district and was stationed in wuduqiao.
On September 27, 1954, the organizational system of Ningxia Province was abolished, and Yongning County was subordinate to Yinchuan District of Gansu Province.
