Historical evolution

In the spring and Autumn period, it was named Gaiyu and was granted a place by Liang Yuzi, a senior official of Jin Dynasty.

During the Warring States period, it was renamed as Kaiyu and belonged to Shangdang county.

In the second year of Xiaochang in the Northern Wei Dynasty (236 BC), kuehu was renamed Leping County, which was subordinate to Leping county. In the Northern Qi Dynasty, it was renamed Liangyu County, subordinate to Taiyuan county.

In 1914, it belonged to Jining road. In 1937, it was the third administrative region of Shanxi Province. In 1940, Heshun county was divided into Hedong county and Xixian county. In 1945, Hedong county and Hexi county were liberated and merged into Heshun County, which belongs to the Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan border region.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China in September 1949, it belonged to Yuci special area. In October 1958, Heshun county was merged with Zuoquan County, which was still called Heshun, and the county administration remained unchanged. In June 1959, Heshun county and Zuoquan county were separated. In 2000, Jinzhong City was set up by withdrawing land, and Heshun county was changed into Jinzhong City.
