The origin of place names
Xinning County has been named Siyi county since the establishment of Fu Yi Hou state in the Western Han Dynasty. Why it is called Fu Yi: according to the local records of Xinning County, there is furongling on the Jincheng Mountain in the territory. Because the ancient pronunciation of "Furong" and "Fu Yi" is close, the water is named after the mountain, so there is Fu Yi water, and the state is named after water, so it is called Fu Yi Hou state.
Fu County: the name of the county in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. In 402, the first year of emperor an's Yuanxing reign, Huanwen was named. In order to avoid the taboo of his father, Huan Yi's husband, he went to Yi. His husband had no real meaning and could not be named Fu County alone, so he changed his name to Fu County.
Fuyang: the name of liangdai County in the southern and Northern Dynasties. In the Western Han Dynasty, Zhaoling county was set up under the jurisdiction of Zhaoling and the state of Changsha. In 1986, Shaoyang district was abolished and the system of city governing county was implemented. Xinning County was changed into Shaoyang City.
