In the Sui Dynasty, in 586, Yanzhou was changed to Xining. In 598, it was renamed Yizhou. At the beginning of Daye (605), it was called Yueyi county again, and Dechang was subordinate to Wugeng county.
In the Tang Dynasty, Wude (618) returned to Yizhou. In the third year (620), the general manager's office was set up and changed to the central governor's office. In the first year of Zhenguan (627), Jiannan road was established in Yizhou and sixteen prefectures were established in Jimi. In the first year of Tianbao (742), "Yueyi county is still the governor's office.". In the second year of Zhide (757), the county was not in Tubo, but recovered in the 13th year of Zhenyuan (797). In the sixth year of Xiantong (865), the Prefecture was occupied by the Mongolian imperial edict. The city was established as Jianchang Prefecture, and Dechang belonged to Jianchang Prefecture.
In the Five Dynasties, in the second year of Tianfu in the later Han Dynasty (948), Duan Siping established Dali regime and rebuilt Changfu as Jianchang County.
In Song Dynasty, Taizu was unable to rule and gave up the area south of Dadu River. In Jianchang area, "chieftains strived for strength, divided into four regions, and promoted Duanxing as the leader.". In the Yuan Dynasty, Jianchang was attached by Xianzong, and Dechang was occupied by qubu and kaibu. In 1275, Jianchang Road, Deping Road, Dingchang road and Huichuan road were set up. Today, the qubu of Dechang was changed to Changzhou, which is subordinate to Dingchang road. Thirteen years (1276) to Dezhou, Li Deping road. In 1912, Xichang county was transferred to Ningyuan Prefecture.
