Anxi County Anxi County, known as Qingxi in ancient times, is located in the southeast coast of Fujian Province, Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, and the northwest part of the golden triangle of Southern Fujian, under the jurisdiction of Quanzhou City. The total area is 3057.28 square kilometers, which has 15 towns and 9 townships. The registered residence population is 1 million 211 thousand at the end of 2019. The built-up area of the county is 28 square kilometers. In 1985, it was approved by the state as one of the first batch of coastal counties open to the outside world, and is the main ancestral home of Taiwan compatriots.
Anxi has a history of tea production for thousands of years. It is the "hometown of Oolong tea (famous tea) in China" and the birthplace of Tieguanyin in Anxi. It ranks first in the key tea producing counties in China. It is famous for its tea industry in China and is known as the "Tea Capital of China".

Historical evolution
Anxi, Zhou belongs to seven Fujian. The spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period belong to Yue. Qin belongs to Minzhong county.
In the fifth year of emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC), Wu Zhu was granted the title of king of Fujian and Yue for his contribution to the destruction of Qin and Chu. In the sixth year of Emperor Wu's Jianyuan reign (135 BC), because the state of Fujian and Yue had been invading Baiyue, the Han Xingshi asked a question, abolished the title of king of Fujian and Yue, and successively granted Two Kings (King Yueyao and King Dongyue) to jointly lead the territory of Fujian and Yue. In the first year of Yuanfeng (110 BC), the king of Dongyue rebelled against the Han Dynasty and was killed. In the Han Dynasty, the king of Yueyao was renamed as the Marquis of Dongcheng, and the military officials were ordered to move the people of Fujian and Vietnam between the Yangtze River and Huaihe River. In the second year of the first Yuan Dynasty (85 BC), the Minyue people who fled from the valley did not move to establish Ye County, and Anxi belonged to Ye County.
In the third year of Yong'an (260) of Emperor Wu Jing of the Three Kingdoms, Dongan County was set up in the south of Duwei Prefecture, and Anxi belonged to Dongan County.
In the third year of Jin Taikang (282), Jian'an county was established as Jin'an County, and Dong'an County was changed into Jin'an county. Anxi belongs to Jin'an county.
In 468, Jin'an county was changed into Jin Ping county. Qi is still Jin'an county. Liang Tianjian analyzed that Jin'an county was set up as Nan'an county. Anxi belongs to Jin'an County, Nan'an county.
In 589, Nanan county was changed to Nanan County, and Anxi belonged to Nanan county. Tang Wude first year (618), Nan'an county belongs to Jianzhou. In the fifth year, Nanan Prefecture was established and Fengzhou was established. In the ninth year of Zhenguan (635), Fengzhou was merged into Quanzhou (now Fuzhou). In the second year of Jingyun (711), wurongzhou was changed to Quanzhou (today's Quanzhou), and in the first year of Tianbao (742), Quanzhou was changed to Qingyuan County. In the fifth year of Xiantong in Tang Dynasty (864), xiaoxichang was set up in Xijie township of Nan'an County, belonging to Nan'an county. In the second year of Zhou Xiande (955), Zhan Dunren, the supervisor of xiaoxichang, applied to the Qingyuan army for permission to build a county. In the Qing Dynasty, Anxi county still belonged to Quanzhou Prefecture.
In 1911, the revolution of 1911 overthrew the Qing Dynasty. In the 16th year of the Republic of China, Taoism was abolished. Fujian province implements a provincial and county level local political system. Anxi county is located in Fujian Province. In November of the 22nd year of the Republic of China, the 19th route army launched the "Fujian incident" in Fuzhou and established the people's revolutionary government of the people's Republic of China, namely the Fujian people's government. Fujian is divided into four provinces, namely minhai, Yanjian, Xingquan and Longting, and two special cities, Fuzhou and Xiamen. In January of 23, Fujian people's government failed, and the four provinces established were abolished. Anxi County was still subordinate to Fujian Province. In July of that year, the Fujian provincial government implemented the system of commissioner of administrative supervision in accordance with the camp instructions of Nanchang, chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Kuomintang. The whole province was divided into 10 administrative supervision districts, and Anxi County was subordinate to the fifth administrative supervision district. In July 1949, the 10th corps of the Chinese people's Liberation Army marched into Fujian. Fuzhou was liberated on August 17 and Fujian Provincial People's government was established on August 24. On August 31, Anxi County was liberated and the people's Government of Anxi County was formally established in September. In the same month, the people's Government of Fujian Province announced that the whole province was divided into eight administrative inspectors' offices, and Anxi County was subordinate to the fifth administrative inspectors' office. Later, the name of the administrative office was changed slightly, and it was subordinate to Quanzhou administrative office, Jinjiang District Office, Jinjiang special office and Jinjiang District Office.
In January 1986, Quanzhou City was upgraded to prefecture level city, and Anxi County was subordinate to Quanzhou City. In 1990, Anxi County was 74 kilometers long from east to west and 63 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 3057.28 square kilometers. It is the largest county in Quanzhou.
On March 6, 2019, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of finance, the Ministry of culture and tourism, and the State Administration of cultural relics announced the list of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics (the first batch), in which Anxi County was included.
On June 28, 2020, Fujian Provincial People's government "Fujian Provincial People's government's reply on the administrative division adjustment of CHANGKENG Township, shennei Township, Anxi county" (min Zheng Wen [2020] No. 116) agreed to abolish shennei Township, Anxi County, and set up shennei town with the same administrative region and government station; agreed to abolish CHANGKENG Township and set up Changqing town with the original administrative region of CHANGKENG township as the administrative region of Changqing town The location of the government remains unchanged.
