Historical evolution
The Song Dynasty scholar Leshi recorded that "Qingyunpu is fifteen miles south of the city" in his Taiping Huanyu Ji.
According to Shangshu Yugong, in the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, the area was listed as "Yangzhou region". In the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period, it was located in the east of Wu and the west of Chu, so it was called the place of Wu and Chu. In the third year of King yuan of Zhou (473 BC), Yue destroyed Wu and belonged to Yue. In the seventh year of King Wei of Chu (333 BC), Chu destroyed Yue and belonged to Chu.
