Linshui county (Linshui county), formerly known as Linzhou, belongs to Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, which is an important highway traffic artery of Sichuan, Shaanxi, Chongqing and Hubei. Linshui county is also the nearest County in Sichuan Province to the main urban area of Chongqing and Liangjiang New Area. It borders Dianjiang County, Changshou District and Yubei District in the East and south, and Huaying City, Qianfeng district and Dazhu County in the West and North.
The built-up area of Linshui county is 21.1 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 250000 and an urbanization rate of 41.1%. It has been successfully established as a provincial health county, a provincial civilized county and a demonstration county with beautiful environment in Sichuan Province. By 2017, we will strive to build an area of 30 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 300000 and an urbanization rate of 48%.

Historical evolution
In the third year of Liang Datong (537) in the Southern Dynasty, the county of Dangqu (now Dazhou area) was established as Linshui County, which belongs to Linshan county and is governed by Linshou city (now Xingren town).
In 556, the third year of Gongdi in the Western Wei Dynasty, it belonged to Linshan County of Quzhou.
In the first year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (581), the residence was moved from the original neighboring city to Yuechi river. In 583, Linshan County entered Quzhou (now Quxian county). Daye three years (607), Quzhou to Dangqu County, Linshui county.
In the first year of Wude of Tang Dynasty (618), Dangqu county was abandoned and Quzhou was rebuilt. Linshui county was changed into SHUSHUI County, which belongs to Quzhou. In that year, it was divided into two counties, namely, SHUSHUI county and Dianjiang County, namely, Shushan county and Yanquan county. In 619, the resident of Linshui County moved from Yuechi stream to kunlou town.
In the first year of Tianbao (742), Quzhou was changed into Shushan County, still under the jurisdiction of SHUSHUI county. Qianyuan first year (758), more Shushan County for Quzhou, still under the jurisdiction of SHUSHUI county.
In the first year of Baoli (825), Sushui county was merged into Sushan County, and in the first year of Dazhong (847), Sushui county was restored.
In 907, Wang Jian became emperor in Chengdu, restored neighboring states, and still governed SHUSHUI county.
In 934, the neighboring Prefecture was changed to Quzhou, and SHUSHUI county was still under its jurisdiction.
In the second year of Qiande in the Northern Song Dynasty (964), song Taizu conquered Sichuan and changed SHUSHUI County into Linshui County, which belongs to Quzhou. In 1283, Linshui county was incorporated into Dazhu County and renamed Linshui town.
In the first year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (1465), Linshui county was reestablished under the jurisdiction of Guang'an Prefecture of Shunqing prefecture (today's Nanchong City). In the second year (1466), the county government was established in today's Dingping town.
In 1644, Zhang Xianzhong became emperor in Chengdu and named the country Daxi.
In 1646, the Qing Dynasty destroyed the Great West regime. Shunzhi seventeen years (1660) Linshui county is the North Sichuan Road Shunqing house.
In 1912, North Sichuan Road was abandoned, and Linshui County belonged to Shunqing Prefecture.

On September 1, 1952, the central government decided to abolish the Southwest Military and political Commission and four administrative districts.
In March 1953, Dazhu district was abolished, and Linshui county was changed into Daxian district (Daxian District in 1968).
In July 1993, Linshui County belonged to Guang'an area.
In 1998, Guang'an was set up as a city, and Linshui county was subordinate to Guang'an City.

In 1953, the Fifth Village (now Damian Village) of Gaoxing township (now gaotan town), the Fourth District of Linshui County, was under the jurisdiction of Cizhu and Zhongxing Township, the 13th District of Jiangbei County (now Yubei District of Chongqing city).
In 1953, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen of the tenth village of Yulin township (today's yaotan town) in Linshui county were assigned to Changshou County, called Tuo Township, and the seventh village of Yulin township was assigned to chejiawan and Hejiawan, a total of 13 households were assigned to Wantong Township (today's Wanshun town).

Xitian township was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Chengnan town. In 2009, 27 kinds of mineral deposits have been proved in Linshui, mainly including coal, natural gas, pyrite, phosphate iron ore, etc. Among them, the coal reserves are the most abundant, nearly 400 million tons, with an annual output of 1.5 million tons of raw coal, making it one of the 100 major coal producing counties in China. Natural gas reserves are also large, with an annual output of 400 million cubic meters of natural gas, which is the main mining area of the East Sichuan atmospheric field. Jiudong drinking mineral water in Huaying Mountain is one of the five famous springs in China.
