Shehong City, the hometown of Chen Ziang, is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, which is managed by Suining City. It is located in the middle of Sichuan Basin, middle reaches of Fujiang River, north of Suining, and in the center of North arc of Chengdu Chongqing Economic Zone. Shehong covers an area of 1496 square kilometers. Shehong climate belongs to subtropical humid climate area in Sichuan Basin, with mild climate and four distinct seasons. Historical evolution
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Shehong was the land of Shu, and the Qin Dynasty was the land of Shu.
In the Western Han Dynasty, in the sixth year of emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (201 BC), Guanghan county was set up in Ba County and Shu County, and Lingxian county was set up in 13. Today, Shehong area belongs to Guanghan county and Qi county of Guanghan county. At that time, Guanghan county was governed by tongquanba, which is now nanliushu Town, Shehong city.
In the Western Jin Dynasty, in the sixth year of Emperor Wu's Taikang (285), the eastern Guanghan County of Shuhan was changed into Guanghan County, leading Guanghan County, Deyang county and Wucheng county. The county government is still located in Guanghan county. Today, Shehong area belongs to Guanghan and Wucheng counties.

In the Western Wei Dynasty, the second year of the abolition of the Emperor (553), yuwentai Pingshu, Sichuan Province entered the territory of the Western Wei Dynasty. In the Northern Zhou Dynasty (557-581), Shejiang county was changed to Shehong County, and Shehong got its name from then on.
In the Sui Dynasty, in the third year of emperor kaihuang's reign, four counties, including Changcheng county and Yongquan County, were still established as Xinzhou, while Shehong and Tongquan belonged to Xinzhou.
In 598, Xinzhou was changed to Zizhou, and Shehong and Tongquan belonged to Zizhou.

In 1283, Tongquan county was merged into Shehong County, which was subordinate to Tongchuan prefecture (now Santai County). Today, the territory of Shehong city has been decided.
Ming Dynasty, Hongwu nine years (1376) to the prefecture, Shehong County under the Tongchuan Prefecture.
In May of 1377, Shehong County entered Yanting County. In November 1380, Shehong County was restored. In the early Ming Dynasty. Shehong county is subordinate to Tongchuan Prefecture.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Shehong County belonged to Zhili Prefecture of Tongchuan.
In 1734, it was promoted to Tongchuan Prefecture.
In the seventh year of Jiaqing (1802) of the Qing Dynasty, chuanbeidao was set up, which was governed by the present Langzhong county. It led Shunqing, Baoning and Tongchuan. Shehong County was subordinate to Tongchuan Prefecture of chuanbeidao, until the Qing Dynasty died.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), North Sichuan Road was cut off, and the government and prefecture were directly under the provincial government. Shehong County was subordinate to Tongchuan Prefecture of Sichuan Province.
In 1913, Tongchuan Prefecture was abolished and Dao was restored. The county was under the jurisdiction of Dao. Shehong county belongs to Chuanbei road in Sichuan Province.
In 1914, the name of Chuanbei road was changed to Jialing Road, and Shehong County belonged to Jialing Road.
In 1935, the situation of warlord separatism ended. The national government unified the Sichuan government and established 18 administrative supervision districts in Sichuan Province. Shehong County was subordinate to 12 administrative supervision districts (the office of the commissioner was located in the Central District of Suining City today) until February 1949.
On December 9, 1949, Shehong County was liberated. In January 1950, the county government moved from Jinhua town to Taihe Town. Shehong county is subordinate to Suining District of northern Sichuan (the office of the Commissioner is located in Suining).
On September 1, 1952, Sichuan Province was established by abolishing the administrative divisions. Shehong county is subordinate to Suining District of Sichuan Province.
In 1958, Suining district was abolished and Shehong County was assigned to Mianyang district (later renamed Mianyang District, where the office of the commissioner was stationed).
In May 1985, Suining City was established in Shehong, Pengxi and Suining counties of Mianyang, and Shehong County was subordinate to Suining City.
On August 16, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province issued the reply on Approving the revocation of Shehong County and the establishment of Shehong city at county level.
