Historical evolution
The predecessor of Binhu New Area is Hengshui Lake Nature Reserve.
According to the research, Hengshui Lake is a shallow dished lake, which is formed by water accumulated from the depression in the front of the inclined plain at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain. It is a natural lake in the low erosion zone of the alluvial plain of Heilonggang basin. Historically, Hengshui Lake is a part of guangaze in ancient times, which includes continental Ze in Ren county and Ningjin Po in Ningjin County. According to historical documents, Hengshui Lake was once known as xinduzhen, boguangchi, Jizhou Haizi, etc. According to legend, before the fifth year of King Ding of Zhou Dynasty (602 BC), there was a big lake here, where the Yellow River flowed. According to the map of Heilonggang ancient river course in Hebei plain published by Hebei Institute of geography, there is a large ancient lake in Hengshui, Jizhou, Nangong, Xinhe, Julu, Renxian, Longyao, Ningjin and Xinji. The ancient lake is about 67 km long. Later, the lake gradually silted up and divided into Ningjin Lake (near Ningjin County), continental lake (near Renxian county) and Hengshui Lake.
Hengshui Lake is recorded in many historical materials. "Han Zhi" mentioned: "there is a water in Xindu County, which is called Xinyu.". "Hongzhi" points out: "Haizi is also called River, also known as Jizhou Haizi." "Zhendingzhi" records: "Hengshui Salt River and Jizhou city Donghaizi, North and south across more than 50 Li, the old name Jiheng Dawa." He Tao of Qing Dynasty said in Ji Zhou Kai Qu Ji: "the water comes from the southwest to the north of the state, turns to the East and crosses the boundary of Hengshui. The county seat overlooks its south, and four or five miles to the west, turning left to the east of Jizhou city. Under the silting ground, it is five li wide and three li narrow. In the north, it is more than 20 Li, and it is called hengshuiwa if it belongs to the county. In the south, it is more than 10 Li, and it is called Haizi if it belongs to the state. " In the diary of Wu Rulun in the Qing Dynasty, it is also mentioned that "the northern border of Jizhou directly reaches Hengshui, and the terrain is low, which is gerongpi in the past." According to textual research, the above mentioned "Xingui", "Haizi", "Jishui", "Jiheng Dawa", "Hengshui WA" and "gerongpi" are now Hengshui Lake.
Hengshui Lake used to be the old channel of the Yellow River, Zhanghe River and Hutuo River in history. According to Ji Zhou Kai Qu Ji, "the land of Hengnan in the middle of Ji'nan has no ridges and ridges, but more than 100000 mu of land has been built by Lei Lei. "Ji county annals" mentioned: "Fang 40 Li, denounce fontanel, ground does not grow hair." Therefore, the governance and development of Hengshui Lake has become a major event for the officials and the people in the past dynasties. Zhao, the official of the Sui Dynasty, once built the Zhao canal here. In the 11th year of Tang Zhenguan, Li Xingli, the governor of Jizhou, irrigated the farmland with water from the lake. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, the governor of Zhili, Fang minke, once directed the water of Hengshui Lake into the river and set up a sluice to close the river. He also built three stone gates to make the wasteland fertile. In view of the fact that "after Jiaqing, the sluice was abandoned and the river silted up", Wu Rulun, the governor of the state, opened a channel to open the river in the 10th year of Guangxu, and dug a drainage river more than 60 Li long, seven Zhang wide and more than Zhang deep, which "drained the water into the river, and turned the JURU field into a fertile one with an area of 100000 Mu". In memory of him, people called this canal "Wugong canal". In the tomb list of Zhang chuhang, a Gongsheng of the Qing Dynasty, who was a state school student, talking about the situation after the completion of the Wugong canal, he said: "from eight Li northwest of the state city, weichi Lake meandering sixty li northeast to Hengshui County, more than 100000 mu of farmland has been added. "It's better to change the cream." In the Ji Zhou Kai Qu Ji, it is also said that "the water has its own way, and the fields are fertile." in summer and autumn, the water is abundant, the boats and boats come and go, and the business and travel are convenient, so the state is rich. There is also a record in Xindu Zhuzhi CI: "the water of Zhanghe River is turbid and clear, and the two rivers flow in the same direction. Among them, carp is half a foot long, making soup for Lang's companion
Although Hengshui Lake has been managed by counties and prefectures for many times in order to benefit the people, it was after the founding of new China that Hengshui Lake was planned scientifically and managed as a whole. In 1958, Jixian County renovated Hengshui Lake, built the West dike in the depression, and irrigated the East depression. However, due to the lack of supporting projects, poor water lifting capacity, and long-term high water level storage, the surrounding soil salinization, water was released for farming in 1962.
In 1972, dongwa reservoir was built in Jixian County.
In 1974, Hengshui area organized Jixian, Zaoqiang, Wuyi and Hengshui counties to rebuild dongwa.
In 1977, Xiwa was expanded. By 1978, Hengshui Lake had been built into a complete set of water storage project, which can lead, store and discharge water. It is commonly known as "qianqingwa reservoir".
In January 2011, Binhu New District was established.
