Longmatan District Longmatan district is subordinate to Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. It is located in the south of Sichuan Basin at the intersection of Yangtze River and Tuojiang River. It is adjacent to Luxian County in the West and North, Jiangyang District in the South and Luxian county and Jiangyang District in the East. Longmatan district is the center of Commerce, logistics, economy and passenger transport of Luzhou. It is an economic and trade developed area of Luzhou and one of the three main cities of Luzhou. Meanwhile, the port area of South Sichuan of China (Sichuan) pilot free trade zone is located in Longmatan district.

Historical evolution
The name of the district comes from "Longmatan". Chang Ming, Yang fangcan and others compiled the general annals of Sichuan volume 168: in the Tang Dynasty, Wang Chang met a dejected immortal in Zizhou. The dejected immortal's surname was Zhang. Later, Wang Chang went to Luzhou, where he was called "Yi Yuanzi" by the down and out immortal. He was given Taoist skills, took a horse to send him home, and Ma Hualong went to the pool. Then the empress Chang went to the immortal.
Since the sixth year of Jianyuan (135 BC) in the Western Han Dynasty, Longmatan district has always been the territory of Jiangyang County, Luzhou county and Luchuan county.
In 1729 (the seventh year of Yongzheng reign of Qing Dynasty), Luzhou was set up as "ten townships". Longmatan district was under the jurisdiction of one city and four townships.
In 1910, Xiaoshi belonged to Chengxiang; teling belonged to Anxian township; Qiya (Qijia), Lailong, Jinlong, Guandu and Hushi belonged to Huiwen township; Shidong, Shuangbei and Yongshou belonged to Linxian township; Luohan belonged to Liren township.
In 1934, there were 42 towns and townships in Luxian county. Xiaoshi belonged to Zhongcheng Town, texing to TeZhao Town, Jinlong to Niutan Town, Lailong and Guandu to Lailong Town, Hushi and Qiya to Hushi Town, Jiaxiang and Shuangjia to Shidong Town, and Luohan to Luohan town.
In 1937, Luxian county was divided into six districts. Xiaoshi was the first district, Luohan and texing were the third district, and laiqi Town, Jinniu Township, Hushi Township and Guandu town were the Fifth District.
In July 1950, Luzhou was a city under the jurisdiction of the southern Sichuan administrative office, with districts 1, 2, 3 and towns in the north and south. The people's Government of the first district was located in a small city. In November of the same year, the division of districts was adjusted, and the people's government was renamed the district office.
In August 1952, after the revocation of southern Sichuan administrative office, Xiaoshi and Luohan were under the jurisdiction of Luzhou city.
In 1959, Shidong, Shuangjia, Yongshou, Anning, Yunlong and Maoba communes were merged to form the "red flag people's commune" directly under Luxian County, and the small commune was soon restored.
In 1982, the commune was abolished and the township system was restored.
On December 24, 1995, the State Council approved the establishment of Longmatan District of Luzhou city.
On January 26, 1996, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the establishment of Longmatan District of Luzhou city. On July 1, the office of Longmatan district was open to the public. On September 29, the first District People's government came into being.

In May 1952, the two towns of North and south cities were merged to form a District People's government, which divided the original three districts into four. The two District People's governments were located in small cities, and the four District People's governments were located in Luohan. In August, after the cancellation of the southern Sichuan administrative office, Xiaoshi and Luohan were under the exclusive jurisdiction of Luzhou city. In this year, Luxian county was divided into 19 districts. Texing Town, Changchun, Zouma, Kuifeng, Longxi and other townships belong to the first district, with the District Office in texing (later moved to Zhaoya); Shidong Town, Shuangjia, Gaoshan, Jiaxiang, Anning, Yongshou and other townships belong to the seventh district, with the District Office in Shidong; Hushi Town, Lailong, Laisi, Xinlong, Qiaotou, Jinlong, Sanjia, Guandu and other townships belong to the fourteenth District, with the District Office in Hushi. In October, 65 people's communes were established in Luxian county to integrate government and society and merge some small townships. There are 11 districts. Texing commune belongs to Zhaoya district. Shidong, Jinlong, Guandu, Lailong, Taiping and Hushi communes belong to Shidong district.
In 1985, texing and Kuifeng townships belonged to Zhaoya District, Shidong town and Yongshou, Anning and Shuangjia townships belonged to Shidong District, Hushi town and Qijia (Qiya), Lailong, Guandu and Jinlong townships belonged to Hushi district.
In 1992, Shidong, Hushi and Kuifeng, Chang'an, texing, Shuangjia, Yongshou, Guandu, Lailong and Qixiang were abolished, Shidong, Hushi and texing towns were established, and Jinlong and Anning townships were reserved.
On December 24, 1995, Longmatan district had jurisdiction over two streets of Xiaoshi and Gaoba in Shizhong District and two towns of Luohan and Yutang, three towns of Shidong, Hushi and texing in Luxian county and two townships of Anning and Jinlong, and the district government was stationed in Xinjiezi street.
On January 26, 1996, Longmatan District governed Luohan Town, Yutang Town, Xiaoshi street, Gaoba Factory Street of the former Shizhong District, and Hushi Town, Shidong Town, texing Town, Jinlong Township and Anning township of the former Luxian county.
In 1997, Longmatan district covers an area of 340.8 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 2 streets, 5 towns and 2 townships. The district government is located at 74 Xinjiezi street, Xiaoshi street.
On April 26, 1999, Anning township was removed from the township to build a town, and Anning town was listed.
In 2000, Longmatan District governed four streets, seven towns and two townships.
In 1997, Longmatan district had jurisdiction over two streets, six towns, one Township, 134 villages and 50 communities: Xiaoshi street, Gaoba Factory Street, Luohan Town, Yutang Town, Shidong Town, Hushi Town, texing Town, Anning town and Jinlong town.
In 1997, Gaoba Factory Street was merged into Luohan Town, Xiaoshi street and surrounding area were integrated, and Hongxing street and Lianhuachi street were added. According to the reply of Sichuan Provincial People's Government on Approving the adjustment of some township administrative divisions in Longmatan district and Xuyong County of Luzhou City (cfzm [2014] No. 26), Longmatan district is approved to cancel Luohan town and establish Luohan sub district office, which governs the administrative area of the original Luohan town and is located in Shiliang village; Yutang town is cancelled and Yutang sub district office is established, which governs the original Yutang town Yutang sub district office is located in zaolinyuan community; Anning town is abolished and Anning sub district office is established, which governs the former administrative region of Anning town and Anning sub district office is located in Anning community.
