Dongqu Street Dongqu Street (also known as Dongqu) belongs to Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the southwest of the Pearl River Delta and the east of Zhongshan City. It is the seat of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee and municipal government. It is adjacent to Zhongshan Torch hi tech Industrial Development Zone and Nanlang town in the East, qianqiuling of Wugui mountain in the South and Shiqi District in the West.
As of 2013, the total area of the Eastern District streets was 71.4 square kilometers, with 10 communities under control. At the end of the year, the registered residence population was 95 thousand and 800, the permanent population was 157 thousand and 900, and there were more than 30 thousand overseas Chinese living in more than 50 countries and regions, and more than 30 thousand of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots. Historical evolution
In 757 A.D., the eastern district was under the jurisdiction of wenshun Township in Dongguan county. Later, wenshun township was changed to Xiangshan town.
In the 22nd year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1152 AD), Xiangshan town was changed into Xiangshan County, and the eastern district was under the jurisdiction of Renhou Township and Yongle township.
In 1381, Renhou township was divided into renhoufang and liangzidu. Yongle township was changed into Dineng capital, and the eastern region was still under the jurisdiction of the two capitals.
In 1872, renhoufang and liangzidu were merged and changed into renliangdu. Denangdu was still under the jurisdiction of the two capitals.
In the early years of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (about 1880 AD), Renliang capital was changed into a town. Renliang capital still used the old name. Denang capital merged with the four Dadu and was renamed Dongzhen.
In 1910, the town was changed into a district. There were nine districts in Xiangshan County. Renliangdu was changed into the first district and Dongzhen into the fourth district.
In April 1925, Xiangshan County was renamed Zhongshan County, and the eastern district was still under the jurisdiction of the first district and the fourth district.
In 1930, the name of each district was changed from Renliang district to Dongzhen District, and the old name was restored in the following year. In 1948, small townships were set up in each district.
At the beginning of liberation, the names of the districts and townships were still the same.
In August 1955, the first district was changed into Shayong district and the Fourth District into Zhangjia border district.
In March 1957, when the district was withdrawn and Daxiang was merged, the eastern district was in haotou Township, Zhangjiabian Township and Huancheng township.
When the people's commune was established in 1958, haotou township was named Liaoyuan commune, Zhangjiabian Township Shengli commune, Huancheng Township suburban commune, and Shayong Township iron and steel commune.
In October 1958, the whole county was merged into seven communes. The former Shengli commune and haotou commune were all incorporated into Zhangjiabian commune. The iron and steel commune and Shiqi suburban commune were merged into the Huancheng commune. In October 1959, Shiqi was changed into a town.
In August 1961, the district planning was resumed and the communes were under the jurisdiction of the district; the communes around the city, kuchong and Shayong were under the jurisdiction of the district around the city; the communes of haotou, Changjiang and Zhangjiabian were under the jurisdiction of Zhangjiabian.
When the district was withdrawn and merged into communes in 1963, it was divided into Zhangjiabian commune, Huancheng commune and Shiqi town (abolished in 1969).
In November 1983, the commune was renamed District Office; in December 1986, the district office was changed into town; Changjiang village and Changjiang paradise were merged to form Changjiang management area, and then DAAO river was put under the jurisdiction of this area.
In January 1988, Zhongshan City was upgraded to a prefecture level city, and the surrounding city, Zhangjiabian, suburbs and Eastern District were included in the urban area.
