Historical evolution
Ledong Li Autonomous County was originally a part of Yazhou (county), Dongfang County and Changgan county.
In the first year of Yuanfeng (110 BC), zhuya and daner counties were set up. Ledong Li Autonomous County belongs to Linzhen County under zhuya county. In the fifth year of the first Yuan Dynasty (82 BC), daner county was abolished and merged into zhuya county. In the third year of the early Yuan Dynasty (46 BC), zhuya county was established as Zhulu County, which belongs to Hepu County and is in charge of Jiaozhou. In the 19th year of Jianwu (AD 43), Zhulu county was restored to zhuya County, which belongs to Hepu County and is in charge of Jiaozhou.
Wu chiwu five years (242 years), the restoration of zhuya County, Jiaozhou, later changed to Guangzhou. In the first year of Dakang (280), zhuya county was merged into Hepu County, belonging to Jiaozhou.

The geological structure of Ledong Li Autonomous County is composed of parent rock and the second stage Mesozoic granite. It is mainly composed of granite diorite and quartz diorite, followed by Cretaceous siltstone, conglomerate, sandstone and shale, as well as quaternary marine sediments, modern River Marine alluvium and shallow marine sediments. These different parent rocks and materials have tropical characteristics in the formation of soil.

In Ledong Li Autonomous County, granite accounted for 59.5%, sandy shale 21.3%, andesite 1.1%, seabed sediment 14.6%, and modern river alluvium 3.5%. Granite is distributed all over Ledong Li Autonomous County, but the area of Sanping, Da'an and Zhizhong is relatively large; river shale is mainly distributed in Shanrong area and the area bordering Jiusuo town and Sanya City; river alluvium is mainly distributed on both sides of Changhua River and Wanglou River; coastal sediment is mainly distributed in the areas of Foluo, Yinggehai, Huangliu, chongpo, leluo and Jiusuo Along the coast.
