Tianya District Tianya district is one of the four municipal districts of Sanya City in Hainan Province. Tianya district is located in the central and western part of Sanya City, between 109.23-109.58 ° E and 18.20-18.63 ° n, bordering Jiyang District in the East, Nanhai District in the south, Yazhou District in the west, Ledong County and Baoting County in the north. Tianya district covers an area of 944 square kilometers. Haiyu west line (g225), the expressway around the island and Hainan West Ring Railway pass through the middle of Tianya district. Tianya district was founded in 2014, formerly known as Tianya town. Because it is located at the end of the earth, it is called "Tianya district". In January 2015, Hexi District, Fenghuang town and Tianya town were officially abolished and Tianya district was established. Tianya district is under the jurisdiction of the former Hexi administrative committee, Fenghuang town and Tianya Town, with a population of 244100 (in 2018). There are 45 Village (neighborhood) committees in the District, including 20 village committees and 25 neighborhood committees.
In 2017, Tianya District achieved a GDP of 18.02 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 7%, accounting for 34% of the city. The proportion of the three industrial structures was adjusted and optimized to 13.1:14.5:72.4, and the proportion of the tertiary industry increased by 1.4 percentage points compared with 2016.

History of construction
Tianya town
At the beginning of the 18th century, Tianya town was a piece of wasteland. Only at the intersection of WenMen road and the north of the village, there were three thatched cottages to open hotels for guests, so it was called Sanjian village.
In the Yazhou annals compiled in the 26th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty from May 1900 to the winter of xinchou, there are more than 20 households in Xiamaling. It is close to the mountain and near the sea, and has a beautiful environment. After being discovered, the fishermen nearby moved to live in the coastal area, forming a fishing village.
In 1949, it was named Xinfu township of Ya county.

Tianya District

Gaofengpian and Nandao farm are surrounded by mountains with an altitude of 300-900 meters. Jianling is the highest mountain with an altitude of 1019 meters.

Tianya region belongs to tropical marine monsoon climate, with northeast monsoon period from January to June and southwest monsoon period from June to December. It is characterized by no severe cold in winter, no severe heat in summer, no winter in long summer, continuous autumn and spring, sufficient sunshine, large evaporation, half dry and half wet, sudden rain and cool drought, frequent typhoons, strong rain and strong wind.
The annual average temperature is 25.4 ℃, the average temperature in the coldest January is 21.0 ℃, and the average temperature in the hottest June is 28.5 ℃. There is no serious low temperature, which is very beneficial to the growth of crops.
The average annual rainfall is 1625.0 mm in the northern mountainous area and 1279.3 mm in the southern coastal area. The seasonal distribution of rainfall is also uneven, especially in dry and wet seasons. The rainy season is from April to October, accounting for 90% of the annual rainfall, and the dry season is from November to march of the next year. Tropical storms or typhoons occur on average once or twice a year, with an average annual evaporation of 2266 mm, belonging to semi humid and semi-arid areas.

There are three main rivers in Tianya area. Yanglan Xincun iron mine is a marginal iron ore body with a geological reserve of 6.68 million tons, which has not been developed and utilized by 2010. The Hongshi iron ore deposit in Gaofeng district has proven reserves of 1.486 million tons of C + D grade iron ore. It is a small-sized deposit with 216-355 meters long and 5.65-34 meters wide, extending 60-120 meters. The ore is mainly magnetite with an iron grade of 31-46%. It has not been developed and utilized by 2010.
Marble mine
Marble is distributed in liuluo, Yaliang, baopo, LuoPeng and other places in Gaofeng township. As of 2010, the Geological Department of liuluo mining area had drilled, with C + D reserves of 1.05 million tons.
Biological resources
Tianya district is located in the peak mountain area in the north of Sanya. It is still the original ecology and full of green mountains. It is known as the "green lung" of Sanya and the largest "green bank" of Sanya. The coral reefs on the East and West islands are national nature reserves. The reservoirs such as Dalong and Fuwan water source pool are the main water sources of Sanya City.
