Historical evolution
Linyi city was named Qiyang at the beginning of its construction. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, there were Yu state, Qiyang and Zhongqiu in Lu state. Qiyang is the earliest name of Linyi city.
In the late spring and Autumn period, it was the land of the state of Lu. In the late Warring States period, it belonged to Chu. Qin is Qiyang County, belonging to Tan county.
In the Western Han Dynasty, Qiyang changed its name to Kaiyang in order to avoid King Liu Qibao. In the fifth year of Yuanfeng (106 BC), Linyi County and Kaiyang County were set up in Zhuge City, which is located in baishabu town in the north of today's city.

In 621, Lanshan county was set up at the foot of Lanshan in the southwest of chudun Town, Tancheng county. In the sixth year of Wude, Lanshan county was abolished and its jurisdiction was incorporated into the territory of Linyi County (according to the summary of Fangyu).
In the Northern Song Dynasty, it belonged to Langya County of Yizhou.
In the Jin, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Yizhou was still known. In the early Ming Dynasty, Linyi County was withdrawn from Yizhou.
In 1734, Yizhou was renamed as Fu, which governed the surrounding area and set up a county, named Lanshan county.
In 1913, Yizhou Prefecture was abolished, and Lanshan county was restored as Linyi County.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Linyi County was renamed Linyi City from December 1958 to March 1963. In September 1983, the State Council approved the restoration of Linyi as a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province. In December 1994, the county-level Linyi city was abolished, and three county-level administrative regions, Lanshan, Luozhuang and Hedong, were set up in its original jurisdiction.

Yihe River

Suhe River
Wuhe river originates from Yulin mountain and tianjingwang mountain in Mazhuang township of Feixian County. It is divided into two branches in nanguozhuang of Lanshan street. The South Branch is called nansu River and the North Branch is Beisu river.
Nansu river is the old road of Henan river. It flows through Shengzhuang, machanghu, censhi, Luozhuang, Fuzhuang and other towns in Luozhuang District, and then flows into Wuhe River in Tancheng County, with a total length of 41.2 kilometers, a drainage area of 249.18 square kilometers and a territory length of 9.9 kilometers.
Beisu river is a man-made river excavated by Zhu Youshun, king of Jing, during Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. The water from the Su River is diverted directly to Linyi City and flows into the Yi River in the north of the city. Outside the west gate of the city, a branch is dug in the southeast to flow into Qinglonghe (commonly known as the moat).
