Jiangzhou District Jiangzhou District, the lower District of Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of Guangxi and in the middle and upper reaches of Zuojiang river. It has convenient water and land transportation. The waterway can directly reach Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao through Nanning. It is a transportation hub and commodity distribution center in Southwest Guangxi.
Jiangzhou District is the only urban area of Chongzuo City and the economic, political and cultural center of Chongzuo, the youngest city in Guangxi.
Jiangzhou District covers an area of 2951 square kilometers (up to April 2020). It has jurisdiction over three streets, six towns, two townships and two overseas Chinese economic management zones. There are 340000 people of more than 10 ethnic groups, including Zhuang, Han, Miao and Yao (in 2000), of whom Zhuang Nationality accounts for 80%.
Jiangzhou District has been awarded the titles of national social and cultural advanced county, national sports advanced county, and Guangxi villager autonomy model county. Historical evolution
Jiangzhou District has a long history. In the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (214 BC), Chongzuo belonged to Xiang county.
At the end of Qin Dynasty, it was a territory of Nanyue.
In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC), Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty, Chongzuo belonged to Linchen and Yongji (a small part) counties in Yulin County.
The Three Kingdoms period belongs to Yulin County (county is unknown). Jin belongs to Jincheng County, subordinate to Jinxing county. Sui belongs to the West. In the early Tang Dynasty, Zuojiang Town, Jimi zuozhou and Jimi Sicheng tuzhou were established. Taiping village was set up in the early Song Dynasty, Chongshan county was set up in Huangyou period, and then Jiangzhou and tuzhou were set up.
In the first year of Tang Zhenguan (627 AD), Chongzuo County belonged to Sicheng Prefecture. Five Dynasties and ten States belong to the Southern Han Dynasty.
During the reign of Song Dynasty, Zhuzhou was trapped in the high wisdom of Guangyuan chieftain Nong. After the imperial court ordered Di Qing, deputy envoy of the Privy Council, to seek peace, the town of Zuojiang was changed to Taiping Village (governing Lijiang), which was named "Taiping".
In 1053, Chongshan county (Jimi) was set up, which was under the jurisdiction of Yongzhou Prefecture,
In 1359, Huang Yingyan, the chieftain of Shangsi Prefecture, robbed the road seal and moved it to Tuolu regiment. In 1369, Taiping Road was changed to Taiping government, which governed Chongshan county and zuozhou. In 1428, because of the rebellion of Zhao xianmou, the local official of Chongshan County, he changed his land to Liuliu.
The Qing Dynasty was still under the Ming system and belonged to the Taiping government.
In 1913, the government was abolished. It belongs to Zhennan road. In 1918, Jiangzhou and Luobai counties were abolished, and their land was merged into Chongshan County, while Encheng was assigned to Yangli county (now Daxin County). In 1926, Chongshan was abolished. In 1930, Chongshan belonged to the Longzhou district.
In April 1951, Zuo county and Chongshan county were merged, and the two counties were named Chongzuo county. In 1951, Chongzuo county was under the jurisdiction of Longzhou district. In the same year, Longzhou District moved to Chongzuo County, renamed Chongzuo district.
In 1952, Binyang district and Chongzuo District merged into Yongning District, which belongs to Yongning district.
In 1953, Yongning special region was abolished and Zhili was established as the Western Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
In 1956, Guixi Zhuang Autonomous Region changed its name to Guixi Zhuang Autonomous Prefecture.
In 1958, Yongning district was renamed Nanning District.
On January 7, 1960, with the approval of the State Council, Zuojiang county was jointly called with Fusui county. County Governance: Jiangnan District, Taiping Town, Jiangzhou District, Chongzuo city. On March 27, 1962, with the approval of the State Council, Zuojiang county was abolished and the original organizational system of Chongzuo county was restored, still belonging to Nanning special area. In 1970, the area was renamed as Nanning area.
In 1984, the commune was abolished and eight townships and two towns were set up in the county. According to the fourth census in 1990, the total population of the county is 316716, and the population density is 109 per square kilometer.
In 1996, Chongzuo County covers an area of 2901 square kilometers and has a population of about 320000. It has jurisdiction over 7 towns and 4 townships: Xinhe Town, Taiping Town, Jiangzhou Town, laituan Town, Tuolu Town, zuozhou Town, Nalong Town, Heping Township, Luobai Township, Banli Township and Leizhou township. The county government is located in Taiping town.
According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Chongzuo county is 306242, including 48179 in Taiping Town, 22193 in Xinhe Town, 21819 in laituan Town, 37470 in Jiangzhou Town, 35484 in zuozhou Town, 30058 in Nalong Town, 18118 in Tuolu Town, 23729 in Heping Township, 20353 in Luobai Township, 12450 in Banli Township and 36389 in Leizhou township.
On July 22, 2002, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region agreed to merge Leizhou Township and Tuolu town of Chongzuo County into Tuolu Town, and all the administrative areas under the jurisdiction of former Leizhou Township and Tuolu town were under the jurisdiction of Tuolu town (GZH 127); Heping Township and Taiping town of Chongzuo county were merged into Taiping Town, and all the administrative areas under the jurisdiction of former Heping Township and Taiping town were under the jurisdiction of Taiping Town (GZH 130). After the adjustment, the county has jurisdiction over 7 towns and 2 townships: Taiping Town, Xinhe Town, laituan Town, Jiangzhou Town, zuozhou Town, Nalong Town, Tuolu Town, Luobai Township and Banli township.
On December 23, 2002, the State Council approved (Guo Han No. 121): (1) to abolish Nanning District and Chongzuo county and establish Chongzuo city at prefecture level. The Municipal People's government is stationed in Shilin Avenue, Jiangzhou District. (2) Jiangzhou District is established in Chongzuo City, and the former administrative region of Chongzuo county is the administrative region of Jiangzhou District. The District People's government is located in Xinmin Road.
In 2012, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZH No. 136) approved the cancellation of Taiping Town and the establishment of Taiping, Jiangnan and shijinglin sub district offices. After the adjustment, the district has jurisdiction over three streets, six towns and two townships: Taiping Street, Jiangnan street, shijinglin street, Xinhe Town, laituan Town, Jiangzhou Town, zuozhou Town, Nalong Town, Tuolu Town, Luobai Township and Banli township. The district government is located at 16 Xinmin Road, Jiangnan street.
On December 23, 2002, the State Council approved the abolition of Nanning District and Chongzuo county and the establishment of prefecture level Chongzuo city. The original Chongzuo county was changed into Jiangzhou District. On August 6, 2003, Chongzuo City and Jiangzhou District were officially established.
In 2003, Leizhou Township and Tuolu town merged into Tuolu Town, Heping Township and Taiping Town merged into Taiping town.
In 2012, Jiangzhou District abolished Taiping Town and established Taiping, Jiangnan and shijinglin sub district offices.

The west is limestone area; the East and middle are hills and small plains; Zuojiang river passes through the middle of the area from southwest to northeast obliquely, forming Valley terraces. It is 71 km wide from east to west and 81 km long from north to south.

The largest river is Zuojiang River, which flows from Longzhou County in Southwest China, through Heping, Taiping, shutuan, Tuolu, Leizhou and other five townships, to liurenfusui County in Leizhou Township, with an average annual flow of 544 cubic meters of sand.
