Pubei County, which belongs to Qinzhou City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Guangxi, northeast of Qinzhou City, bordering Bobai County of Yulin City in the East, Hepu County of Beihai City in the south, Heng County, Guigang City and Xingye County of Yulin City in the north. The county is about 210 km away from Nanning, the capital city, and 120 km away from Beihai City, an open coastal city.

Historical evolution
In the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (214 BC), Lingnan was unified and Guilin, Xiangjun and Nanhai were established. Pubei County was under the jurisdiction of Xiangjun.
In the sixth year of the reign of emperor Ding of the Han Dynasty (111 BC), Hepu County was set up under the jurisdiction of Hepu County. In the 19th year of Jianwu (43 BC), Hepu County was moved from Xuwen County of Guangdong Province to Hepu County, which is now the ancient town of Jiuzhou in Quanshui town of Pubei County.
In 471, the first seven years of the northern and Southern Dynasties, Linzhang county was set up in the state of Yue. The state and county governments are located in yangtianwo (also known as "qingniu city") in Shichong Town, Pubei County.
In the first year of Qi Jianyuan (479), Hepu County moved to Xuwen County, Guangdong Province; in the second year of Qi Jianyuan (480), Hepu County set up Fengshan county and longsu county (also known as cailong county), and later changed to longsu county. The county was governed in Guli village, Fuwang Town, Pubei County.
In the ninth year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (589), Hepu County was renamed as Hepu County, which is under the jurisdiction of Yuezhou; in the first year of Daye (605), Yuezhou was renamed Luzhou; in the third year of Daye (607), Hepu County was also named. The state, county and county governments are still in the ancient city of Jiuzhou, Quanshui Town, Pubei County.
In the fourth year of Wude (621), Hepu County was renamed Yuezhou, and cailong county was added. The county government was located in the ancient territory of Fuwang Town, Pubei County. In the eighth year of Zhenguan (634), Yuezhou was renamed Lianzhou, which was named daliandong. The county government was located in the site of Jiuzhou Tang City, Quanshui Town, Pubei County.
In 972, Fengshan County, cailong county and Dalian county were abolished and merged into Hepu County. Pubei County was under the jurisdiction of Lianzhou. In the same year, the site of Lianzhou was moved from the site of Jiuzhou Tang City in Quanshui town of Pubei County to Changsha field in Shikang town of Hepu County.
In 1276, Lianzhou was promoted to Lianzhou road. Hepu County was under the jurisdiction of Lianzhou Road, and Pubei was a part of Hepu County.
In 1368, the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, Lianzhou road was changed into Lianzhou Prefecture; in 1374, Lianzhou Prefecture was reduced to a prefecture, and Hepu County was abolished and merged into Shikang county. In 1381, Lianzhou was upgraded to a prefecture, called Lianzhou Prefecture, and Hepu County was restored. Pubei Prefecture was under the jurisdiction of Hepu County and extended to the Qing Dynasty.
In the first, third, ninth, nineteenth, and 25th years of the Republic of China (1936), Hepu County was subordinate to the Qinlian military government (later renamed appeasement Office), Qinlian Road, the southern appeasement Office of Guangdong Province, and the eighth district medical administrative inspector Office of Guangdong Province.
In September 1947, the first people's Government of the county, the military government of helingnan District of the Communist Party of China, was established in shuangchongkou (now Dacheng township) of baishishui in Pubei, governing Hepu and Lingshan. On August 1, 1949, the people's Government of Hepu County was established until liberation.
In December 1951, the Zhongbei District Office of Hepu County People's government was established in Zhanghuang town.
On May 12, 1952, the people's Government of Guangxi Province issued a notice to divide the 13 districts to 21 districts in the north of Hepu county to establish Pubei County. Because it is located in the north of Hepu, this is the beginning of the name of Pubei County, which is subordinate to Qinzhou District of Guangxi Province.
In July 1955, with the approval of the State Council, Pubei County was under the jurisdiction of Hepu District of Guangdong Province.
In December 1958, it was decided by the second plenary session (enlarged) of the people's Government of Guangdong Province to abolish Pubei County and merge it into Hepu County, which is subordinate to Zhanjiang District of Guangdong Province.
On July 19, 1965, with the approval of the State Council, Pubei County was reestablished under the jurisdiction of Qinzhou special region (region) of Guangxi.
