Xingning District Xingning District is a municipal district under the jurisdiction of Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. It is one of the six urban districts of Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Xingning District starts from the junction of Minzu Avenue and Qingxiu District in the south, faces Yongjiang River and Jiangnan District in the southwest, Jiefang Road, Huaqiang road and railway in the west, and XiXiangTang District in the north, and ends at Guangxi Academy of forestry, Guangxi Gaofeng forest farm and Wuming District in the north It is connected to Kunlun Pass in the northeast and Binyang County.
Xingning District is located in the center of Nanning City, extending to the northeast. It is one of the oldest urban areas in Nanning City, and also the business center of the city. Xingning District covers an area of 723 square kilometers.
At the end of 2016, 327 thousand people registered residence in the whole district, and the Xingning area realized 37 billion 149 million yuan in GDP.
In October 2018, it was selected into the "top 100 investment potential areas in China in 2018".
Historical evolution
Because part of Xingning District was under the jurisdiction of Xingning town of Nanning (Yongning County) before 1950, it got its name. In ancient times, it was the urban area of Yongzhou. Before 1949, it was Xingning town of Nanning.
In 1950, the urban streets of Nanning city were managed by 10 police stations of the Municipal Public Security Bureau. Xingning District was under the jurisdiction of Xingning, Mingde, Ningwu and Heping police stations.
In 1951, Nanning was divided into four districts, five districts, six districts and suburbs. Xingning District included most of the Fifth District, part of the Sixth District and a small part of the suburbs.
In 1953, the original four, five and six districts of Nanning city were changed into the second, three and four districts. On March 15, 1953, the people were elected by universal suffrage. In December 1955, the system of the third district (now Xingning District) was abolished, and five sub district offices were established in Xingning, Minsheng, Jiefang, upper Yongjiang and lower Yongjiang.
In July 1958, the sub district office was abolished, the district level organizational system was restored, Xingning District was established, and the district Party committee was established. In June 1960, Xingning District was changed into Xingning people's commune. In March 1979, the people's commune was abolished and Chaoyang District was established. In April 1980, it was renamed Xingning District. In May of the same year, the people's Government of Xingning District was established, stationed at 54 Jiefang Road.
In 1997, Xingning District covers an area of 7.2 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over two streets: Minsheng street and Chaoyang Street. District Government in Jiefang Road.
On November 15, 2001, with the approval of the State Council, Anji Town, Santang town and Huqiu village of Shangyao Township in the suburb of Nanning city were put under the jurisdiction of Xingning District of Nanning city.
At the end of 2002, Xingning District was located in the center of Nanning City, extending to the northeast of the city. It has jurisdiction over Chaoyang and Minsheng sub district offices and Santang and Anji towns.
On April 9, 2003, Xingning District decided to cancel the establishment of Anji town and set up two sub district offices to manage the original Anji town
On September 15, 2004, some administrative divisions of Nanning City: Sitang, Wutang and Kunlun towns of Yongning County were put under the jurisdiction of Xingning District, and the people's Government of Xingning District was stationed in Xiangzhu Avenue. After the adjustment, Xingning District has jurisdiction over Minsheng street, Chaoyang Street and Anning street; Santang Town, Sitang Town, Wutang town and Kunlun town.
In 2005, people's livelihood community in Xingning District was assigned to Qingxiu District, and wangxianpo community, jinniuqiao community, changyuxi community, Yanziling community, changyudong community, Jiangqiao community and Guanqiao village in Qingxiu district were assigned to Xingning District.
On June 25, 2005, Sitang town was abolished and merged into Santang town. In this way, Xingning District has jurisdiction over two streets and three towns: Minsheng street, Chaoyang Street, Santang Town, Wutang town and Kunlun town.
In 1997, Xingning District, with an area of 7.2 square kilometers and a population of 120000, mainly Han nationality, governed two streets: Minsheng street and Chaoyang Street. District Government in Jiefang Road. According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of the district is 131865, including 51473 in Minsheng street and 80392 in Chaoyang Street.
On November 15, 2001, the State Council approved (Guo Han No. 150): Anji Town, Santang town and Huqiu village of Shangyao Township in the suburb of Nanning city were put under the jurisdiction of Xingning District of Nanning city. In December, Nanning adjusted the administrative divisions of some municipal districts, and assigned Huqiu village, Anji Town, Santang town in Shangyao Township and the area extending to Gaofeng Forest Farm (i.e., the third-class highway from Anji to Ganwei and the administrative divisions of Yongning County and Wuming County in the East) to Xingning District. Meanwhile, Huqiu village in Shangyao Township and Ji village in Anji town were assigned to Chaoyang Street Office management. After the adjustment, Xingning District has jurisdiction over Minsheng and Chaoyang streets, Anji and Santang towns, 29 communities and 17 administrative villages, with a total area of 253 square kilometers and a permanent resident population of 170000.
At the end of 2002, Xingning District was located in the center of Nanning City, extending to the northeast of the city. It covers an area of 253 square kilometers and has a population of 168000. It has jurisdiction over Chaoyang and Minsheng sub district offices and Santang and Anji towns.
On April 9, 2003, according to the spirit of the reply of the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on agreeing to abolish the organizational system of Anji town (GZH No. 249), Nanning Municipal Party committee and people's government decided to abolish the organizational system of Anji town and set up two sub district offices to manage the original jurisdiction of Anji town. After the establishment of Anji town was abolished, the five villages of Xijin, lianchou, Yongning, Beihu and Zaojiao in the former Anji town were still under the jurisdiction of Xingning District, with a population of 11000 and an area of 19.9 square kilometers; the four villages of Sulu, tunlu, Tunli and Datang were under the jurisdiction of Chengbei District, with a population of 12000 and an area of 20.1 square kilometers. The boundary between Xingning District and Chengbei district is the current village boundary. Chengbei district and Xingning District set up corresponding sub district offices respectively. The sub district office shall exercise territorial management over its jurisdiction. The newly established sub district office in Chengbei district is named "Anji sub district office", and the office address is located in the courtyard of the original Anji Town People's government; the newly established sub district office in Xingning District is named "Anning sub district office", and the office address is located and implemented by the Xingning District People's government. At the end of 2003, there were 160000 permanent residents in Xingning District. It governs three streets and one town: Minsheng street, Chaoyang Street, Anning street and Santang Town, with 28 communities and 14 administrative villages.
In 2004, Xingning District was located in the center of Nanning, with a total area of 233.1 square kilometers.
