Yunan District, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province, is located in the west of Guangdong Province, on the South Bank of the middle reaches of Xijiang River. It is connected with Yuncheng district of Yunfu City in the East, Xinxing County and Yangchun City in the south, Luoding City and Yunan County in the west, Xijiang River and Deqing across the river in the north. The total area of the district is 1184.73 square kilometers. It has seven towns under its jurisdiction, and the District People's government is located in Liudu town. By the end of 2017, the population of Yun'an district was 286 thousand and 300, and the total registered residence population was 341 thousand and 600.
In January 1996, Yun'an county was established; in September 2014, with the consent of the State Council, Yun'an county was abolished and yun'an District of Yunfu City was established.
The terrain of Yun'an district is high in the East, South and West, and low in the north, mainly hills and low mountains. It is located in the south of the Tropic of cancer, with low latitude and close to the ocean. It has subtropical humid monsoon climate, abundant rainfall, high temperature all year round, and green flowers and trees all the year round.
In 2017, the GDP of Yun'an district was 8.226 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.1%; the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents was 16113.2 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%.

In the Zhou Dynasty, the territory of Yun'an district was Baiyue (Guangdong).
In the 33rd year of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty (214 BC), after the unification of Lingnan by the Qin Dynasty, yun'an District belonged to Nanhai County, and was the land of Nanyue at the end of the Qin Dynasty and the beginning of the Han Dynasty.
In the sixth year of Yuanding in the Western Han Dynasty (111 BC), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty destroyed the state of Nanyue and set up a county. Yun'an district belongs to Duanxi county (the county government is in Deqing).
In the seventh year of Yonghe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (351), the northern part of yun'an District belonged to Jinkang County, and the southern part belonged to Xinning County.
In the Yuan Jia period of the Southern Song Dynasty (424-453), ansui county was set up (the county was governed by Liantan), and yun'an District belonged to ansui county. In 523, Yunan District belonged to Xinxing County in the south, Kaiyang County in the West and ansui County in the northwest.
In the third year of Daye of Sui Dynasty (607), Yunan district was located in the west of Longshui County, the northwest of ansui County, the southeast of Xinxing County and the south of Tongling County.
In 621, Fulin county was built in the southwest of yun'an District, Longshui County in the West and ansui County in the northwest. In the 18th year of Kaiyuan (730), Qinzhou was restored, and its governance was located in Fulin county. In the first year of Tang Tianbao (742), Qinzhou was changed to Yunfu County, and the county government was located in Fulin county. In 757, ansui county was changed to Jinkang County, and the northwest of Yun'an district was under its jurisdiction.
In 972, Jinkang county was merged into Duanxi county. Yunan district is located in the west of Longshui County, the north of Duanxi County, the southeast of Xinxing County and the southwest of Yangchun county.
The Yuan Dynasty followed the song system.
In 1376, the northwest of yun'an District belonged to Jinkang township of Deqing Prefecture, and the West still belonged to Longshui county. In 1577, Dongan County was set up in Jinkang township of deqingzhou, Yangliu, Duqi, Silao and Sibao of Gaoyao County, Furong I and Erlian of Xinxing County, Nanxiang and Fulin of Longshui county.
The Qing Dynasty followed the Ming system.
In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Dong'an County was renamed Yunfu county. Yunan district belongs to Yunfu county and belongs to yuehaidao. In 1928, it was subordinate to the appeasement Office of the Western District of Guangdong Province, and in 1936, it was subordinate to the office of the administrative inspector of the third district of Guangdong Province.
On October 1, 1949, the people's Republic of China was founded. On October 27, Yunfu county was liberated and subordinate to Xijiang district.
In November 1957, Yunfu county and Xinxing County were merged into Xinyun County, and in April 1959, they were renamed Xinxing County, under the jurisdiction of Yunan district.
On April 1, 1961, Yunfu county was restored.
On September 3, 1992, Yunfu county was abolished and Yunfu City (county level) was established. Yunan district belongs to Yunfu City.
On April 5, 1994, the State Council approved the establishment of prefecture level Yunfu City. The original county-level Yunfu City area was changed to Yuncheng district, and Yunan district belongs to Yuncheng district.
In January 1996, Yun'an county was established, which has jurisdiction over 9 towns in Yuncheng district, including Liudu, Gaocun, Baishi, Zhen'an, Fulin, Tuodong, Chadong, Nansheng and Shi. The county people's government is located in Liudu town.
On September 9, 2014, with the consent of the State Council, Yun'an county was abolished and yun'an District of Yunfu City was established. Duyang town of Yuncheng district of Yunfu City was put under the jurisdiction of Yun'an district. The former administrative regions of Yun'an county (excluding Qianfeng town and Nanshan Town) and duyang town of Yuncheng District were the administrative regions of yun'an District, and the District People's government was stationed in Liudu town.

From the late Paleozoic to the tertiary and Quaternary of Cenozoic, the geology of Yun'an district is divided into four tectonic cycles: Caledonian structure, Hercynian Indosinian structure, Yanshan structure and Himalayan structure, in which the Hercynian Indosinian structure is the main structure. The geotectonic location of the area belongs to the Guangdong Guangxi uplift belt, which is located between the Gaoyao fault and the Songgui fault. The structure is complex, and the folds and faults are obviously developed. The strata in the area are exposed completely, except Permian and tertiary. The strata are mainly calcareous rock, banded marble, limestone, dolomite, siliceous limestone and phyllite. Magmatic rocks are well developed. Magmatic rocks and migmatitic granites are mainly distributed in the central and western parts of the area, and sporadic small rock stems are exposed in the south.

The terrain in Yun'an district is high in the East, South and West, and low in the north, with hills and low mountains as the main parts. The hills are all over the towns in the region, accounting for 93% of the total land area, and the lower part of the hills is mostly reclaimed as arable land. Among the mountains and in the middle and lower reaches of the river, there are plat land and fluvial valley. The valley is a land of fish and rice with fertile land and dense population. In the north, the middle and lower reaches of Liudu PENGYUAN river form a small plain of nearly 50 square kilometers, including the county; in the west, Baishi River Valley includes Hedong, Xi'an, Minqiang, Minle, Baishi Xizhen, Baishi, Dongzhen, etc. in Zhen'an; in the south, Matang River Valley includes Minzhu, Gaoyi, Gaoer, Zhaitang, etc. in Fulin, there are exposed limestone residual mountains; in the south, there are small plates of Fulin Jieshi In the middle of Gaocun, small plates develop between mountains. Middle and low mountain landlords are mainly distributed in the central and western regions, of which low mountain accounts for 80%. There are more than 70 peaks with an altitude of more than 500 meters in the territory, including the main peaks of Dajin mountain and dayunwu mountain with an altitude of more than 800 meters.
Karst landforms are distributed in Dongcheng and Qingfeng of Liudu, Minfu of Baishi, Xi'an and Shiao of Zhen'an, Nanpu and Matang of Fulin, etc. There are various kinds of peak forests and caves in karst areas, which provide resources for the development of cement industry and tourism.

Yun'an district is located in the south of Tropic of cancer, with low latitude and close to the ocean, belonging to subtropical humid monsoon climate. In spring, it is rainy and sunny; in summer and autumn, it is hot and rainy; in winter, it is dry and rainy, sunny and cool. Summer is long, winter is short, rainfall is abundant, high temperature period is consistent with rainy period. The annual average temperature is 21.5 ℃, and the summer lasts for seven months. The monthly average temperature from April to October is above 22 ℃, and the average temperature in July is 28.5 ℃. The average temperature in October is still above 13 ℃. Only under the influence of cold wave, there are several days of frost days. Most of the crops can grow all year round, and the flowers and trees are green all the year round. The rainfall is abundant, with an average of 1586.5mm for many years, and the year with the most rainfall is more than 2100mm. The rainfall is mostly from April to October, and less in winter.

There are seven main rivers in Yun'an district. Except Matang river which originates from dayunwu mountain in Fulin town belongs to Moyang river system, the rest belong to Pearl River system. PENGYUAN River and big river flow directly into Xijiang River, small river flows through Yuncheng district into Xinxing River, Baishi River and SHENBU river flow through Yunnan county into Nanjiang river.

Spring drought is frequent in yun'an District, especially in winter and spring, which has a great impact on the growth of spring crops and early rice. On average, 1.4 typhoons of magnitude 8 or above have been affected for many years. Typhoon rainstorms often cause floods, especially along the Xijiang River.
