Yuncheng district Yuncheng district is subordinate to Yunfu City. It is located in the central and western part of Guangdong Province, on the South Bank of the middle reaches of Xijiang River. Panlong cave in the urban area is a provincial scenic spot and one of the three "Gem Flower caves" in the world.
Yuncheng district, known as the "hometown of Yunshi", has a long history of stone processing and production. Yuncheng district has become the world's stone production and processing and trade distribution center, an important part of China's stone base center, and stone industry has become a pivotal pillar industry in the region. There are more than 3000 large-scale stone enterprises in the region, especially the continuous "hundred mile stone corridor" on both sides of 324 National Highway.
Historical evolution
In the Zhou Dynasty, Baiyue (Guangdong) was the territory. In the 33rd year of the Qin Dynasty (214 BC), after the first emperor of Qin unified Lingnan, the area belonged to Nanhai County, and at the end of the Qin Dynasty it was Nanyue.
In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC) in the Western Han Dynasty, the state of Yue in the South was destroyed and the county was established. The northwest part of the area belongs to Duanxi county (the county is governed by Deqing County), and the northeast part belongs to Gaoliang county.
In the seventh year of Yonghe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (351), Jinkang county was in the northwest and Xinning County was in the southeast.
In the fourth year of emperor Liangwu's reign (523), Xinxing County was located in the southeast of the area.
In the third year of Daye of Sui Dynasty (607), Duanxi county was in the northwest, Gaoyao county and Fulin county were in the northeast, and Xinxing County was in the southeast.
In 621, Yongshun County was in the southeast and Duanxi County in the northwest.
In 972, Yongshun County was merged into Xinxing County, with Duanxi County in the northwest, Xinxing County in the southeast and Gaoyao County in the northeast.

In 1376, Jinkang township of Deqing Prefecture was located in the northwest of the district. In 1577, Longshui county was upgraded to Zhili Prefecture of Luoding. To the east of luopang mountain, Dongan County was set up, with Jinkang township of Deqing Prefecture, four capitals of Yangliu, Duqi, Silao and Sibo of Gaoyao County, and Furong I and Erlian of Xinxing County. It belongs to Luoding Zhili Prefecture.
In 1914, Dong'an County was renamed Yunfu County, which belongs to Yunfu county and belongs to yuehaidao. In the 17th year of the Republic of China, it was subordinate to the appeasement Office of the Western District of Guangdong Province, and in the 25th year of the Republic of China, it was subordinate to the office of the administrative inspector of the third district of Guangdong Province.
On October 1, 1949, the people's Republic of China was founded. On October 27, Yunfu county was liberated and subordinate to Xijiang district. In 1952, it belonged to the central Guangdong administrative region. In 1956, it belonged to Gaoyao district. In November 1957, Yunfu county and Xinxing County were merged into Xinyun County, which belongs to Gaoyao special area. In April 1959, Xinyun county was renamed Xinxing County, belonging to Jiangmen district. In April 1961, Yunfu county was restored as Zhaoqing district. In September 1992, Yunfu county was abolished and Yunfu City (county level) was established.
On April 5, 1994, Yunfu City was upgraded to a prefecture level city, and Yuncheng district was newly established, which is under the jurisdiction of the original Yunfu City. Yuncheng district has five sub district offices of Yuncheng, Gaofeng, Hekou, Liudu and Antang, and 12 sub district offices of Yaogu, Silao, Duqi, Yangliu, nanshang, (Shida) Shi, Chadong, Tuodong, Fulin, Zhen'an, Baishi and Gaocun.
In January 1996, Yuncheng was divided into Yunan County. Nine towns in Yuncheng district, including Liudu, Gaocun, Baishi, Zhen'an, Fulin, Tuodong, Chadong, Nansheng and (Shida) Shi, were under the jurisdiction of the newly established Yunan County.
In March 1996, Yunfu City established Chengdong District in Yaogu Town, and Yaogu and Silao were under the jurisdiction of Chengdong district.
