Jiangcheng District, Jiangcheng District, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, is one of the two administrative districts of Yangjiang City. Located in the south of Yangjiang City, it is the political, economic, cultural, transportation and information center of Yangjiang City. It borders Yangxi County in the west, Yangdong District in the East, Yangchun City in the north, South China Sea in the south, low mountains and hills along the sea. It has a subtropical marine climate with an average annual temperature of 22.5 ℃ and an average annual precipitation of 2300 mm. There is basically no frost in the whole year. The forest area is 15200 hectares, and the forest coverage rate is 19.2%.
Jiangcheng was a territory of Gaoliang County in ancient times. Since Wu Sunquan set up Gaoliang County in the first year of the early Wei and Huang dynasties (AD 220) (except in the 58th year of Liu Song Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty), it was governed by counties, prefectures and counties. In the second year of Daye reign of Sui Dynasty (AD 606), Yangjiang county was set up to transform the old earthen city. After reconstruction, the new brick and wood city was named Yangjiang City for short because it faced Moyang river. In February 1988, Yangjiang City was established as Jiangcheng district.
Jiangcheng district has jurisdiction over two towns of Buchang and Shuangjie, and eight streets of Ganglie, Baisha, Zhongzhou, Chengdong, Chengxi, Chengnan, Chengbei and Nanen, with a total area of 666 square kilometers. Among them, Zhapo town is entrusted with the management of Hailing Island Economic Development Experimental Zone. The district government is located in Mojiang Road, nan'en street.

In the spring and Autumn period, Jiangcheng was the place of Baiyue.
In the 33rd year of Emperor Qinshihuang (214 BC), Baiyue was pacified and Nanhai county was set up. Jiangcheng belongs to it.
In 196 B.C., Zhao Tuo established the state of Nanyue. Jiangcheng belongs to the state of Nanyue. In the sixth year of Yuanding, Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty (111 BC), Gaoliang county was established. Jiangcheng belongs to Gaoliang County of Hepu County. In the first year of Yankang (220), Emperor Xian of the Eastern Han Dynasty set up Gaoliang County, which was divided into Gaoliang county and Anning county. Jiangcheng belongs to Anning county.
In the first year of Yongchu (420), Emperor Wu of Song Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty, the county was renamed Ling, and Gao Liang Ling was incorporated into Anning Ling Ling. In the Southern Qi Dynasty (479-501), Anning county was renamed Anning County by order of Anning. From the first year to the second year (527-528) of Datong, Emperor Liangwu of the Southern Dynasty, Anning county was renamed Gaoliang County, which belonged to Gaoliang county.
In 617, Gaoliang county changed its name to Yangjiang County, which was named Yangjiang City. This is the beginning of Yangjiang county and Yangjiang City. Since then, Yangjiang county has always been its jurisdiction, and Yangjiang City, the center of Jiangcheng region, is also the seat of county (prefecture, Department). This status continued to Yangjiang county to build city.
In the fourth year of Wude (621), Gaoliang county was abolished and Gaozhou governor's office was set up. In the seventh year of Wude, Gaozhou governor's office was renamed. The office was located in Yangjiang City. In the 23rd year of Emperor Taizong's Zhenguan reign (649), the governor of Gaozhou was abolished and enzhou was set up. Xiping (now Baisha) was ruled by enzhou. In the first year of Tianbao (742), Xuanzong changed enzhou into Enping County, which was governed by Yangjiang City. In the first year of emperor Qianyuan of suzong (758), Enping county was abolished and called enzhou again, and its governance was still in Yangjiang City. In the second year of Dashun (891), Zhao Zong avoided the war and chaos, and moved to Enping and Encheng. In the fourth year of Tianfu (904), Zhao Zong moved back to Yangjiang.
In the eighth year of Qingli (1048) of emperor Renzong of Song Dynasty, enzhou was renamed Nan enzhou, and Jiangcheng was the state government.
In 1280, nan'en Prefecture was changed into the general office of nan'en road and Jiangcheng was the government office. In the 19th year of the Zhiyuan Dynasty, nan'en Prefecture was renamed, and Jiangcheng was the state government.
In the first year of Hongwu, Emperor Taizu of Ming Dynasty (1368), Nanen Prefecture was abolished and Yangjiang county was changed into Zhaoqing Prefecture.
In 1867, Yangjiang county was upgraded to Zhili Prefecture. Tongzhi nine years, Yangjiang Zhili Prefecture renamed Yangjiang Zhili hall. Dezong Guangxu 32 years (1906), again known as Yangjiang Zhili Prefecture.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the Ministry of internal affairs of the national government promulgated the order of unifying the organization of the local administrative departments of the existing counties, which abolished the three levels of government, prefecture and department, and changed them into three levels of province, prefecture and county, and changed the Zhili Prefecture of Yangjiang into Yangjiang county.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Yangjiang county was subordinate to the central Guangdong special district in October 1949, changed to the western Guangdong administrative office in 1952, Zhanjiang special district in 1956, and Jiangmen City in November 1983. Jiangcheng belongs to Yangjiang county.
On January 7, 1988, Yangjiang county was withdrawn and Yangjiang City was established, with Yangjiang City as the center and Jiangcheng district as the resident of the municipal government; in April of the same year, Jiangcheng district government of Yangjiang City was established.

Jiangcheng district was established on January 7, 1988, with jurisdiction over Jiangcheng Town, Ganglie Township and Chengxi Township, covering a total area of 165.1 square kilometers and a total population of 238900. On the 28th, the system of Ganglie and Chengxi townships and Jiangcheng town were abolished and streets were set up. In July, it set up seven sub district offices in Nanen, Chengnan, Taifu, Yuzhou, Moyang, Chengdong, sightseeing and two townships in Ganglie and Chengxi.
In October 1990, when Yangjiang was removed from the county and built into a city, it was divided into Zhapo Town, Hailing Town, Pinggang Town, Buchang Township and Pinggang farm, which belong to Yangdong district. From Yangdong District, it was divided into Jiangcheng district (Pinggang farm belonged to Pinggang Township before it was built in 1952, but this time only belonged to Jiangcheng District, but not under the jurisdiction of Jiangcheng District). The total area of Jiangcheng District expanded to 465.93 square kilometers, with a total population of 420961.
In June 1992, Hailing Town and Zhapo town were designated from Jiangcheng district to establish Hailing Island Economic Development Experimental Zone (development area of 107.8 square kilometers), but it still belongs to Jiangcheng district.
In August 1994, Pinggang town was transferred from Jiangcheng district to Yangjiang port; in November of the next year, it returned to Jiangcheng district.
In 2000, Jiangcheng District governed Ganglie, Chengxi, Pinggang and Buchang towns, Nanen, Chengnan, Taifu, Yuzhou, Moyang, Chengdong and sightseeing streets, as well as Jiangcheng Fishery Management Committee; in addition, it was responsible for the work of people's Congress, justice and armed forces in Hailing Economic Development Experimental Zone. There are villagers' committees and residents' committees in towns and streets.
In November 2003, the two towns of Baisha and Shuangjie under the jurisdiction of Yangdong County in Yangjiang City were merged into the jurisdiction of Jiangcheng, and the original three towns of Ganglie, Chengxi and Baisha were changed into streets.
In September 2006, Taifu street, Yuzhou street, Moyang street and sightseeing street were merged, and Chengbei street and Zhongzhou street were added.
In August 2008, Pinggang town was incorporated into the hi tech Zone of the city.
In 2010, Hailing Town and Zhapo town were abolished and a new Zhapo town was established.
On December 5, 2014, in accordance with the spirit of the reply of Yangjiang Municipal People's Government on issues related to the administrative division adjustment plan of Jiangcheng District sub district offices (Yangfu [2014] No. 14), Jiangcheng District adjusted the administrative jurisdiction of Ganglie, Chengxi, Chengdong, Chengnan, Nanen and Chengbei sub district offices.

Jiangcheng district is located in the south of Yangjiang City. Its geographical coordinates are 21 ° 39 ′ 35 ″ - 21 ° 57 ′ 27 ″ n, 111 ° 47 ′ 12 ″ - 112 ° 03 ′ 12 ″ e. it is adjacent to Yangdong County in the East and North, Yangchun City in the northwest, Yangxi County in the West and Nanhai in the south, covering an area of 437.62 square kilometers.
Jiangcheng district is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The whole Jiangcheng area is mainly composed of low mountains and hills, and Moyang River alluvial plain. The main peaks are Luoqin mountain in the west, with an altitude of 448.7 meters; Yancun mountain in Buchang Town, with an altitude of 172.9 meters. There are weathering crust and bedrock platform in the platform, which are distributed in the front of low mountains and hills. The plain includes the valley plain on both sides of the Moyang River, the estuary delta of the Moyang river where the river enters the sea, and the marine plain along the coast. In addition, there are marine terraces, sand dikes, sand fields and floodplains (0-20M above sea level). The terrain is gentle, flat and slightly undulating, and the coastline is winding and tortuous. The southwest sea is a drowning valley type Bay.

Jiangcheng district is located in the southwest of Guangdong Province. Moyang river runs through the whole area. It has obvious tropical and subtropical climate characteristics. It faces the South China Sea and is directly affected by the input of marine water vapor. Therefore, surface water resources, groundwater resources and the total amount of water resources are relatively rich. From 1988 to 2000, the average precipitation was 2350 mm. The recharge of groundwater mainly comes from precipitation, and the main part of total water resources is river runoff.
