Conghua District, subordinate to Guangzhou City, is located in the northeast of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It borders Longmen County and Zengcheng District in the East, Baiyun District in the south, Qingyuan City and Huadu District in the west, and Fogang and Xinfeng counties in the north. The Tropic of cancer crosses Taiping town at the southern end of the territory, with mild climate and abundant rainfall. The area is 1974.5 square kilometers, with 3 streets and 5 towns under it, and the total registered residence population is 634 thousand and 893 in 2018.
Conghua district is famous for its rare hot springs, known as the "hot spring capital of China", as well as the "pearl on the Tropic of cancer" and "back garden of Guangzhou". There are more than 100 lakes and reservoirs, 120000 hectares of green hills, and the forest coverage rate is 67.2%. History of construction
In the second year of Hongzhi (1489), Conghua County was set up by Panyu, which was subordinate to Guangzhou government. In the Qing Dynasty, Conghua County was subordinate to Guangzhou government. In 1936, Conghua County was subordinate to the first administrative supervision district of Guangdong Province; in 1938, Conghua County was subordinate to the second administrative supervision district of Guangdong Province; in 1945, Conghua County was again under the jurisdiction of the first administrative supervision district of Guangdong Province. One year later, it was under the direct supervision of the Commissioner's office of Guangdong provincial government until 1949.
On October 13, 1949, Conghua County was liberated and subordinate to Beijiang Provisional Administrative Committee. In March 1953, it was transferred to the northern Guangdong Administrative Region (later called Shaoguan Office of the Commissioner). In October 1958, Conghua County and Fogang County were merged into Conghua County, which still belongs to Shaoguan Commissioner's office. In January 1959, it was transferred to Foshan Office. In September 1960, it was transferred to Guangzhou. In April 1961, Conghua and Fogang were re divided into two counties, each of which governed the original region. Conghua County still belonged to Guangzhou city. In March 1994, Conghua County was abolished and Conghua city was established, which is under the administration of Guangzhou city. In 1998, Conghua city governed 15 towns, including JIEKOU Town, Taiping Town, Shengang Town, Jiangpu Town, Guancun Town, Wenquan Town, Taoyuan Town, Liangkou Town, Lutian Town, Dongming Town, Chengjiao Town, Qigan Town, Aotou Town, Longtan town and Minle town. There are 210 village committees and 21 neighborhood committees. (11) Suburban town covers an area of 110 square kilometers, with a population of 20677, and has jurisdiction over 19 village committees. (12) Qigan Town, with an area of 56 square kilometers and a population of 21274, has jurisdiction over 11 village committees and one neighborhood committee. (13) Aotou Town, with an area of 198 square kilometers and a population of 42948, governs 23 village committees and 2 neighborhood committees. (14) With an area of 103.47 square kilometers and a population of 41720, Longtan town has 19 village committees and 1 neighborhood committee. (15) Minle Town, with an area of 33.4 square kilometers and a population of 14105, has nine village committees and one neighborhood committee. (16) In addition, there are five Guangzhou Municipal farms (offices and companies), namely, Dalingshan Forest Farm, Liuxihe forest farm, huanglongdai reservoir management office, Hengjiang agricultural and commercial company (Hengjiang farm) and Minle agricultural and commercial company (Minle tea farm). Minle tea farm is under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou Farm Bureau. It has jurisdiction over zuocan, TANKOU, Lutian, shuikeng, kengwei and other agricultural management areas as well as three tea and fruit farms, with an area of 29.1 square kilometers and a population of 8105. Liuxihe forest farm is under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou forestry bureau, with an area of 91.83 square kilometers and a population of 5115. It has four forestry work areas and three agricultural management areas. Huanglongdai reservoir is under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou Hydropower Bureau, with an area of 46.4 square kilometers and a population of 2222. It has four management areas. Hengjiang farm is under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou Farm Bureau, covering an area of 26 square kilometers. The farm is divided into six national agricultural management areas, including shaliyuan, changjiangzhuang, Xiangyang, Bixia, Hengjiang and Gaotian; one national hen farm; and four village committees, namely Xihe, Guanghui, Hongqi and Xinxing.
On February 12, 2014, Conghua City at the county level was abolished and Conghua District of Guangzhou city was established. The former administrative region of Conghua city was taken as the administrative region of Conghua district. Conghua is rich in rainfall, rivers and water resources. The total recoverable amount of water resources in the region is about 2.755 billion cubic meters annually. Among them, the surface water is 2.27 billion cubic meters, which mainly comes from the three river systems, and the river runoff is mainly produced by rainfall, which belongs to the type of rainwater supply. Liuxihe has a total rainfall collection area of 1594 square kilometers, with an average annual water output of 1.82 billion cubic meters. The total rainfall collection area of Shujiang river is 316 square kilometers, with an average annual water output of 360 million cubic meters. Lianmahe has a total rainfall collection area of 75 square kilometers, with an average annual water output of 90 million cubic meters. The rainy season is from April to August, accounting for 80% - 85% of the annual rainfall. The underground water is 485 million cubic meters, of which the underground water storage of hot spring is about 200 meters deep. Due to the abundant reserves, high water pressure and thin gravel in the fourth layer of the surface layer, water usually gushes out in 3-5 meters, with a daily self inflow of 1400 cubic meters.
