Haizhu District Haizhu District, under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, is one of the central urban areas of Guangzhou city. Haizhu is named after Haizhu stone in ancient Guangzhou Pearl River. In July 1980, Henan district was renamed Haizhu District. There are Guangzhou tower, Pazhou tower, Chunyang temple, Haizhu lake, ancient coastal site, Chigang tower, former residence of Deng Shichang, Xiyuan site, early architecture of Kangyuan Park and other places of interest.

History of construction

In July 1950, three districts (Mengsheng, Hongde and haizhuang) in the former Haizhu city were merged to form the people's Government of Henan district.

Haizhu District is located in the south of Guangzhou. Haizhu District is located in the north of the alluvial plain of the Pearl River Delta. To the east of the northwest, there are a series of slightly undulating low hills. The low hills are generally about 50 meters above sea level; the platform is divided into two levels: the first level is about 40 meters above sea level, mainly distributed in Xincun, Taiyong, shiliugang and Luntou; the second level is about 20 meters above sea level, mainly distributed in Nantou, Shaxi, Kangle, Dunhe, Datang and Chigang. The plain is less than 10 meters above sea level, and is widely distributed in the southeast. Generally, the elevation is only 4 to 5 meters. Today, Haizhu island is actually formed by the gradual deposition of several bedrock Islands since the Holocene (about 10000 years). The sea level of Haizhu island is the sedimentary base. There is no radial water system on the Delta, and the rivers in the area are mostly water network areas with zigzag loops, full tide and shallow tide recession, so it is called delta plain.

The zonal soil in Haizhu District is lateritic red soil, and the parent material is sand shale, forming sand shale lateritic red soil. It is mainly distributed in Chigang, fenghuanggang, shiliugang and other low hills. The soil in the plain area is delta sedimentary soil. After long-term cultivation, the soil has a high degree of maturity.
