Tianyuan District Tianyuan District is located in Hexi area of Zhuzhou City. It is separated by Xiangjiang River in the East and bordered by Hedong area of Zhuzhou City, guyuefeng town and Tangshi township of Lukou District in the South and Xiangtan County in the West.

Tianyuan District has three streets and four towns: Songshan road street, Taishan Road Street, Liyu street, Majiahe Town, Qunfeng Town, leidashi town and Sanmen town.

Tianyuan District is the political center of Zhuzhou City. Zhuzhou municipal government, Zhuzhou municipal Party committee, Tianyuan District government, Zhuzhou military district and Zhuzhou high tech Industrial Development Zone are all located here, making Tianyuan District a modern new city of national high tech Industrial Development Zone. In 2017, Tianyuan District initially calculated the GDP of the whole region to be 1.2 billion yuan.

The famous scenic spots in Tianyuan District include Xiangjiang scenery belt, Shennong City, Liyu leisure Valley, Xiangjiang ancient Sangzhou, Kongling temple, Zifu temple and Longmen temple.

Tianyuan District was selected as one of the top 100 science and technology innovation districts in 2018 and the top 100 new urbanization quality districts in 2018. In October 2019, it was rated as one of the top 100 science and technology innovation zones in China in 2019 and one of the top 100 new urbanization quality zones in China in 2019. On January 29, 2021, it was selected into the list of areas with remarkable achievements in real work in 2020 announced by Hunan Provincial People's government.

Historical evolution

Because there are Tiantai Mountain and horticultural farm in the territory, the homonym of "garden" is "Yuan", which is collectively named "Tianyuan". At the beginning of the liberation, the jurisdiction belonged to Ouhua Township and Ouling township of Xiangtan County. In 1959, it was assigned to the suburb of Zhuzhou City, and in 1965, it was assigned to Zhuzhou County; in 1966, the horticultural farm was re assigned to the suburb of Zhuzhou City. In February 1992, with the approval of Hunan Provincial People's government, Zhuzhou high tech Industrial Development Zone was established within the jurisdiction of horticulture farm. In December of the same year, it was approved as a national development zone by the State Council.

On May 31, 1997, Tianyuan District was established, with jurisdiction over Qunfeng Town, Majiahe township of Zhuzhou County and horticultural farms in the suburbs. The District People's government is located in Huanghe North Road. In July of the same year, the people's Government of Hunan Province approved to adjust the administrative division of Zhuzhou City: Tianyuan District is bounded by Xiangjiang River in the East and North, Qunfeng town and leidashi town in the South and Zhuzhou City and Xiangtan City in the West.

In 2004, Tianyuan District had jurisdiction over two streets and two towns. Songshan Road Street governs 7 communities of Dahutang, huayuanli, Qiaobei, Xiangyin, Daping, xiaohutang and Baihe, and 4 management offices of Daping, Lianhua, Donghu and Longxing. Taishan Road Street governs 9 communities including Tiexi, Yunli, Binjiang, Jiayuan, Taiyuan, Guangchang, daling, Taixi and Jinjin, and 5 management offices including Tiantai, Xujiachong, zhangjiayuan, Xintang and xiejiachong. Majiahe town has jurisdiction over gusangzhou community and 15 administrative villages including Nantang, wangjiaping, Gaotang, Jinlong, Liyu, Nongke, Qiantang, Quanyuan, Taigao, Wanfeng, Xianling, Xinma, Yuetang, Zaoshi and Zhonglu. Qunfeng town governs Changling community and 15 administrative villages including Changling, Bailian, gaotailing, Hehua, Jianghuang, Lishan, miaoquan, Qiyun, Shitang, Xiangbin, Xiangyun, Xiangtang, Xintang, Xinwen and Zhuxi. In 2000, Majiahe set up a town instead of a township. After the adjustment, Tianyuan District has jurisdiction over two streets and two towns. On April 27, 2005, Zaoshi, Nantang, wangjiaping and Liyu villages and wangjiaping communities in Majiahe Town, Tianyuan District were designated as Taishan Road sub district office. After the adjustment of administrative divisions, Majiahe town has jurisdiction over 1 community and 11 villages, with a total area of 51.86 square kilometers and a total population of 18600, and the residence of the town people's government remains unchanged; Taishan Road sub district office has jurisdiction over 15 neighborhood committees and 8 villages, with a total area of 28.34 square kilometers and a total population of 53400, and the residence of the office remains unchanged. In the same year, Tianyuan District added one sub district office, adjusted part of the administrative areas of one town and one sub district office, added Liyu sub district office, and adjusted part of the administrative areas of Majiahe town and Taishan Road sub district office. The specific adjustments are as follows: four villages and one community in Majiahe town are assigned to Taishan Road sub district office; Liyu sub district office is set up (the office is located in Liyu Industrial Park). By the end of 2005, Tianyuan District had jurisdiction over three streets and two towns.

In 2011, leidashi town and Sanmen town of Zhuzhou County were put under the jurisdiction of Tianyuan District. After the administrative division adjustment, it has jurisdiction over three streets and four towns: Songshan road street, Taishan Road Street, Liyu street, Majiahe Town, Qunfeng Town, leidashi town and Sanmen town. In 2015, the township division of Tianyuan District was adjusted.
