Xinghualing District Xinghualing district is under the jurisdiction of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, China. It is the central urban area of Taiyuan City as well as Yingze District. Part of Taiyuan ancient city built in Song Dynasty is located in Xinghualing district. Xinghualing district is an urban-rural integration city established on the basis of the original North City in 1998. It is located in the northeast of Taiyuan City, with a total area of 170.2 square kilometers, including 32.2 square kilometers of built-up area and 138 square kilometers of rural area. At present, the permanent resident population is 673998, including 649195 urban residents and 24803 rural residents. The urbanization rate is 96.32%.

The origin of the name
It used to be a private garden in the palace of the king of Jin Dynasty in Taiyuan city of Ming Dynasty. There were a lot of apricot trees planted in it, and the terrain was high, so it was named Xinghualing.
Historical evolution
Xinghualing district belongs to Beicheng district before Taiyuan was established in 1927. Beicheng district is located in Yangqu County, and the county office is located in the north of Jinfu West Street (jiuxianqian Street).
In 1927, Taiyuan was established as a city in Taiyuan city and Yangqu county.
In 1945, the whole city was divided into 16 administrative districts, collectively referred to as "inner eight districts and outer eight districts". At that time, most of the four, five, six and seven districts of the inner eight districts and the six, seven and eight districts of the outer eight districts were the northern city.
After the liberation of Taiyuan, the people's Government of Taiyuan merged 16 districts into 8 districts. The inner three districts (the district government in wufu'an), the inner four districts (the district government in Jingying East Street) and the outer four districts (the district government in shangbeiguan) were under the jurisdiction of Beicheng district.
In February 1950, the eight districts were merged into four districts. Part of the second district (the district government in Dianshan) and the third district (the district government in shangbeiguan) were under the jurisdiction of Beicheng district.
In June 1954, the second district was renamed Beicheng district.
In 1956, the district government was changed into the District People's Committee.
In August 1960, Beicheng district was divided into three people's communes: Xiangyang, Jiancaoping and julun.
In May 1961, three people's communes were abolished and Beicheng District People's Committee was restored.
In September 1969, it was renamed the Revolutionary Committee of Beicheng district. In 1981, the functions and powers of the Revolutionary Committee of Beicheng district were terminated and the people's Government of Beicheng district was established.
In 1976, the district government moved from Wuyi Road to 358 Jiefang Road.
In 1996, Beicheng district had 15 streets including julun, Sanqiao, Gulou, Xinghualing, balingqiao, dadongguan, Jiancaoping, dunhuafang, gonggongxin street, Guangshe, Gucheng, Nanzhai, Jianhe, Shanglan and Yingxin street, and 461 neighborhood committees.
On May 8, 1997, the State Council approved the abolition of Nancheng District, Beicheng District, Hexi District, Nanjiao district and Beijiao District of Taiyuan city and the establishment of Xiaodian District, Yingze District, Xinghualing District, Jiancaoping District, Wanbailin District and Jinyuan District of Taiyuan city. Xinghualing district is located in the northeast of Taiyuan City, with a geographical location of 112 ° 38 '~ 112 ° 47' e and 37 ° 52 '~ 37 ° 59' n. Xinghualing district is high in the north and East and low in the southwest, with an altitude between 800m and 1670m. There are many hills in the East, which belong to the branch system of Taihang Mountain. Zhoushan continues and the mountain is gentle. It basically belongs to loess hills. The hillside and valley between the mountains are covered by loess layer, forming a variety of geomorphic features such as loess gully, proluvial basin and alluvial fan. There are Chengguan fault in front of Dongshan mountain and Xincheng fault in the west of Fenhe River.

The climate of Xinghualing district belongs to the continental climate of north temperate zone. It is hot and rainy in summer and cold and dry in winter. The annual sunshine is 2808 hours, the frost free period is 120-180 days, the freezing period is 155 days, and the annual average temperature is 9.8 ℃. There are many windy days in spring and winter, mostly northwest wind and northerly wind. The wind force is generally 5-6, sometimes up to 8. The annual average of gales above 6 is 47 days.
