Xian'an District, belonging to Xianning City, Hubei Province, is located in the southeast of Hubei Province. It is adjacent to Yangxin in the East, Chongyang in the south, Chibi in the west, Jiangxia in the north, Tongshan in the southeast and Jiayu in the northwest. The total area is 1503.8 square kilometers.
Xian'an district is the seat of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government. In 1984, the county was removed and set up as a city. In March 1999, it was changed into Xian'an district. It is one of the first batch of counties and urban areas open to the outside world approved by the State Council in 1986. Li Yong, a calligrapher with the reputation of "six great masters in the Imperial Academy" in the Tang Dynasty, and Feng Jing, a calligrapher with the reputation of "two wives of the prime minister and three leaders of the Yuan Dynasty" in the Song Dynasty. The origin of place names
Yongan Town was established in the third year of zongdali (768) in the Tang Dynasty, and Yongan county was promoted in the 13th year of Baoda (955) by Li Jing, the leader of the Southern Tang Dynasty. In 1007, in order to avoid the taboo of Yongan mausoleum, Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty changed the meaning of "Xianning" and "Yongan" in Qianxiang of Yi to Xianning county.

A large number of cultural relics and sites unearthed from cave sites, settlement sites, ancient city sites, ancient tombs and kiln sites show that human beings lived and multiplied here in the Neolithic age. "Shangshu · Yushu · Shundian": in the time of Yushun, "Zhaoshi had two states", and Xian'an belonged to Jingzhou.
