Tieshan District Tieshan district is located in the west of Huangshi City, Hubei Province. It is rich in mineral resources and is named for its rich iron ore.
More than 1700 years ago, our ancestors dug ore and smelted here. In the Han Dynasty, Dongfang Shuo studied here; Yue Fei, a national hero, forged the "sword of Daye"; in the late Qing Dynasty, Zhang Zhidong, governor of Huguang, built Daye Iron Mine, the first large-scale Open-pit Iron Mine in China, which was the largest in East Asia at that time, and Tieshan became the cradle of modern steel and iron industry in China.
The railway in Tieshan District connects the two transportation arteries of Beijing Guangzhou and Beijing Kowloon, and the national highway 106 runs through the whole area. Historical evolution
Tieshan is famous for its rich iron ore and developed mining industry at home and abroad. as early as the Neolithic period, people lived and multiplied in Tieshan. In Xia and Shang Dynasties, Tieshan belonged to Jingzhou; in Zhou Dynasty, it belonged to Chu. In the 29th year of emperor Zhao of Qin Dynasty (278 BC), it was located in Nanjun; in 224 BC, the first emperor of Qin divided Chu into four counties, and Jiangpan belonged to Nanjun, which was the territory of Nanjun. In the sixth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (201 BC), the Han Dynasty divided Nanjun into Jiangxia Jun and unified 14 counties, including e County and Xiazhi County, located in E county. In the Three Kingdoms period, in 221 A.D., the second year of the first year of Zhangwu in the later Han Dynasty, Sun Quan, king of Wu, moved from gong'an to Hubei, changed Hubei to Wuchang, and built a new County of yang to the south of Hubei, with Wuchang, Xiazhi, Yangxin, Chaisang, Shaxian and Xunyang as Wuchang County, located in Wuchang county. In 223 ad, Sun Quan moved Junye to Xiakou (now Hankou) and changed Wuchang County into Jiangxia county. In the first year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (AD 280), Jiangxia county was changed to Wuchang County, which was under the jurisdiction of Wuchang County, e County, Yangxin County and Shaxian County. In 405-409, Xiazhi county was merged into Yangxin County, and Jiangxia county was changed into Wuchang County, which was under the jurisdiction of Yangxin County. in the southern and Northern Dynasties, there was no change in the subordination of the regions in song, Qi, Liang and Chen dynasties. In 589, Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty changed Jiangxia county to Ezhou and Yangxin County to Fuchuan County, which belongs to Fuchuan County. In 598, Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty changed Fuchuan County into Yongxing County, which is under the jurisdiction of Yongxing County in Ezhou. In 607, Emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty changed Ezhou into Jiangxia County, which is under the jurisdiction of Yongxing County. In the fourth year of Wude (621), Emperor Gaozu of Tang Dynasty, Jiangxia county was changed to Ezhou, which was located in Yongxing County of Ezhou. In the 21st year of the Republic of China, Daye county was divided into 10 districts, belonging to the 10th District of Daye County, with jurisdiction over Tieshan, Jinqiao, Nanhe, Songshan and Aoshan. In 1932, the Soviet government was established in Daye County, which is located in shengbi district (formerly the third and tenth districts) of Daye county. It governs 13 fortresses, including Tieshan, Jinqiao, Nanhe, Songshan, Aoshan, Yangze, Tongcheng, Yangling, Fenghuang, Qihua, quankuang, lvfu and Changhong. In 1949, Daye county was divided into 3 districts, 15 townships and 2 towns, and located in tielu township of Daye county. On May 1, 1949, the Chinese people's Liberation Army liberated Shihuang town. Soon after, with the approval of the Central Plains provisional people's government, Hubei Daye Special Zone Office was set up directly under the Central Plains provisional people's government. In October 1949, the people's Government of Daye Special Industrial and mining zone of Hubei Province was established. On August 21, 1950, Huangshi City was established. Huangshi port is under the jurisdiction of Huangshi City. tieshan district (county level) was established in April 1979. In 1996, Tieshan district covers an area of 25 square kilometers and has a population of about 62000. It governs two streets and one town. The district government is located in Tieshan Avenue. According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Tieshan district is 66469, including 36067 in Tieshan street, 16315 in shenghongqing street and 14087 in Tieshan town. At the end of 2004, the total population of Tieshan district was 68416 (Hubei place name network) / 67936 (Huangshi government network). It has jurisdiction over 2 streets of Tieshan and luzhangshan, including 16 communities, 5 administrative villages, 453 resident groups and 44 villager groups. On March 17, 2009, Tieshan district was the first in the country to abolish Tieshan and luzhangshan sub district offices and realize the direct management of communities by the district government. Nine communities (Kuangshan Road, Jianshe Road, jiulongdong, Youai Road, Shengli Road, yekuang Road, tonggudi, Xiangyang Road and caojialin) are under the jurisdiction of the District Civil Affairs Bureau. Five villages (Mulan, shenghongqing, Sancha Road, longquwan and xiongjiajing) are under the jurisdiction of the district agriculture, forestry and water Conservancy Bureau. On October 14 of the same year, xiongjiajing village was under the jurisdiction of Dongfang Mountain Scenic Area Management Committee from Tieshan district. According to the sixth census in 2010, there are 57327 permanent residents in Tieshan district. There are 14 communities in the District, including Youai street, yekuang Road, Jianshe Road, Kuangshan Road, jiulongdong Road, Shengli Road, caojialin, Xincun, tonggudi, Sancha Road, shenghongqing, longquwan, xiongjiajing and Mulan.

Each community in the region is under the jurisdiction of the District Civil Affairs Bureau, the agriculture, forestry and Water Conservancy Bureau and the Dongfang Mountain Scenic Area Management Committee. nine communities (Kuangshan Road, Jianshe Road, jiulongdong, Youai Road, Shengli Road, yekuang Road, tonggudi, Xiangyang Road, caojialin) in the district are under the jurisdiction of the District Civil Affairs Bureau. The five villages (Mulan, shenghongqing, sancharu, longquwan and xiongjiajing) are under the jurisdiction of the district agriculture, forestry and Water Conservancy Bureau. on October 14, 2009, Huangshi City established the "Dongfang Mountain Scenic Area Management Committee". The Dongfang Mountain Scenic Area Management Committee is a vice county-level institution with a planned management area of 18.6 square kilometers, involving six villages and one community in Xialu, xiongjiajing village in Tieshan, Huangshi National Mine Park, etc.
