Hengfeng County, belonging to Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the west of Shangrao City and the northeast of Jiangxi Province. Hengfeng county was set up in 1560, the 39th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty. In 1914, Hengfeng county was changed to Hengfeng county because of its north Hengfeng mountain. On March 6, 2019, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of finance, the Ministry of culture and tourism, and the State Administration of cultural relics announced the list of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics (the first batch), in which Hengfeng county was included. On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the National Health township (county) naming list of 2017-2019 cycle.

History of construction
In 1560, Xing'an County was established in Hengfeng village of Yiyang County.
In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Xing'an County was changed to Hengfeng County, which got its name from Hengfeng mountain in the north of the county.
On October 1, 1949, when the people's Republic of China was founded, Jiangxi Province was divided into nine special areas. In 1952, it was divided into six special districts, and Hengfeng County successively belonged to Shangrao special district.
On April 23, 1971, Shangrao area was renamed Shangrao area, and Hengfeng county was subordinate to Shangrao area.
In October 2000, with the approval of the State Council, Shangrao district was abolished and Shangrao City was established. Hengfeng county was subordinate to Shangrao City.
