Shihe District, located in the south of Henan Province, is subordinate to Xinyang City, Henan Province. It is located in the upper reaches of Huaihe River and the north foot of Dabie Mountain. It is named after the ancient and beautiful Shihe River passing through the city. It is the main urban area and the old urban area of Xinyang City. It is also the cultural, commercial and financial center of Xinyang City. It is the old industrial base of Southern Henan Province and is known as the South Gate of Henan Province.
Shihe district is adjacent to Luoshan county and Pingqiao District in the East and North, Guangshui city and Dawu County in Hubei Province in the south, and Suizhou City in Hubei Province in the West.
