Guyang County Guyang county is located in the Midwest of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, north of Daqing Mountain. It borders Wuchuan County of Hohhot in the East, tuyou banner and suburb of Baotou City in the south, Wulate Middle Banner and Wulate Front Banner of Bayannaoer City in the west, and Damao Banner in the north. The total area is 5025 square kilometers. The total population was 213000 (2008).
Guyang county is higher in the South than in the north, and higher in the east than in the West. It has a temperate continental climate. Historical evolution
As early as the Neolithic age, there were human activities in the territory.
In the 19th year of Wei Huiwang (351 BC) in the Warring States period, juanyang city was built. In the Qin Dynasty, juanyang county was established, which was under the jurisdiction of Wuyuan County in the Western Han Dynasty, and abolished in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Guyang county was named after ancient Zhen Yang.
Huaishuo town was in the Northern Wei Dynasty, and Turkic Khanate was in the Sui Dynasty.
In the Tang Dynasty, Yanran capital and Anbei capital were set up to govern the area.
In Liao Dynasty, it belonged to Yunnei Prefecture of Xijing road. In Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Yunnei Prefecture of Xijing road. In Yuan Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Yunnei Prefecture of Datong Road. In Ming Dynasty, it was under the control of maoming'an tribe of Mongolia.
In the early Qing Dynasty, it belonged to maoming'an banner in the north and Wulate Donggong banner in the southwest, which was a Mongolian Nomadic land. After the reign of Emperor Qianlong, with the reclamation of the area to the north of Daqingshan, most of the merchants and reclaimers were under the jurisdiction of Salaqi hall. In 1903, Wuchuan hall and Wuyuan hall were established. Most of the merchants and reclaimers were under the management of Wuchuan hall. Wuyuan hall was located in the southwest, and Salaqi hall was still in the southeast.
In 1919, Guyang was set up to meet the needs of reclamation. In 1926, Guyang county was established under the jurisdiction of Suiyuan province. In early November 1937, Guyang was occupied by the Japanese puppet army, and it was under the jurisdiction of Bayantala League, the puppet Mongolian government. After Japan surrendered in 1945, the old system was restored.
The people's Government of Guyang county was founded in 1950 after the peaceful liberation in September 1949. It was once under the jurisdiction of Baotou Commissioner's office, Suizhong Commissioner's office, saxian Commissioner's office, Jining Commissioner's office, Wulanchabu League and Baotou city. In 1958, the State Council approved the abolition of Guyang county and the establishment of Guyang District of Baotou city. In 1961, Guyang county (located in Jinshan Town of Guyang) was reestablished after the original Guyang county area which was incorporated into Baotou city was abolished in 1958. In 1963, it was transferred to Ulanqab League. In 1971, it was under the jurisdiction of Baotou city.
