Heshan District Heshan District, belonging to Hebi City, Henan Province, is located at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain in the north of Henan Province. It is named after "there were two cranes living on the cliff of Nanshan Mountain in ancient times, whose mountain is called Heshan mountain". It borders Shilin Town, Shancheng District, Hebi City and matoujian Township, Anyang City in the East, Linzhou city and Anyang County in the west, Lulou Township, Shancheng District in the South and Long'an district and Anyang County in the north. It is 17.6 km long from east to west and 15.8 km wide from north to South, with a total area of 159 square kilometers and a total population of 131000 (2013).

In March 2019, it was listed as the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area sub County list.

Historical evolution

In 1957, relying on the development of coal resources, the state built Hebi, and set up a city system in Heshan District. Hebiji and Zhongshan, which were under the jurisdiction of Heshan District, were the residences of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government successively.

Heshan District was formerly known as Heshan coal mine people's commune. On December 18, 1961, the people's Committee of Hebi city divided Heshan coal mine people's commune into Heshan District Office and Chenjiazhuang people's commune, and thus Heshan District was established.

At the time of its establishment, Heshan District had jurisdiction over Zhongshan Road Street and Hebi street, five agricultural brigades and 15 residents committees, belonging to the urban-rural integrated management system.

In June 1963, due to the increase of urban population and the expansion of urban area, in order to meet the urban vegetable supply and facilitate leadership and management, the municipal Party committee and the Municipal People's Committee put 18 agricultural production teams and 29 natural villages in the suburbs under the management of Heshan District;
