Xinmi Xinmi City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou City, the capital of Henan Province. It is located in the hinterland of the Central Plains, at the foot of Fuxi mountain at the east foot of Songshan Mountain and on the Bank of Qinhe river. It is the source of Chinese civilization and the city of mountains and rivers. Mi County was established in 206 B.C. and was removed to build a city in 1994, 30 kilometers away from the central city of Zhengzhou. As of 2017, Xinmi City has a total area of 1001 square kilometers, 17 streets and towns under its jurisdiction, with a permanent resident population of 809700 and an urbanization rate of 57.75%.
Xinmi has a profound cultural heritage. It is known as "the hometown of Xihuang culture in China" and "the birthplace of Qihuang culture". It is also the birthplace of Zhengfeng and Huifeng in the book of songs. There are 9 national key cultural relics protection units, such as Dahuting Han tomb and miyian county government. The Guchengzhai site and Lijiagou site were rated as the top 10 archaeological discoveries in 2000 and 2009 respectively, and Chaohua blowing song won the national intangible cultural heritage. Historical evolution
The origin of place names
Xinmi City, in the southwest of Zhengzhou, was the seat of MI state and Ying State after the destruction of Shang Dynasty in the Western Zhou Dynasty. The name of Mishan is Mishan, which is called "Mi" because the shape of the mountain here is like a grand palace. In ancient times, those who looked like a temple were called "Mi".
Later, the state of Zheng destroyed the state of Ying and renamed the old city of MI as Xinmi. After Korea destroyed Zheng, it owned this place. From the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period to the fall of the Qin Dynasty, the name "Xinmi" was used all the time.
Division evolution
At the beginning of the reign of the three emperors, it was the hometown of Fuxi and Nuwa, and later it was busui conquered by Emperor Yan.
At the beginning of the five emperors, it was xuanyuanqiu, the capital of the Yellow Emperor. During the period of DIHE, it was the ruins of zhurong's family. After Yao, it was the capital of the state of Ying.
From the beginning of the Western Zhou Dynasty to the spring and Autumn period, Ying and Mi coexisted. In the spring and Autumn period, it was the capital of Zheng State and set up a new Mi City. In the Warring States period, it belonged to Korea and was once under the jurisdiction of Chu. In the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Yingchuan county. In the Han Dynasty, it was still set up as Mi County. It belonged to Henan County, which was governed by Da Yi. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Henan Yin. In the Three Kingdoms, it belonged to Henan county of Wei state.
Jin belongs to Xingyang County, Sizhou belongs to Xingyang County, Liusong belongs to Xingyang County, and Beiqi restored Mi county belongs to Xingyang county.
In the Northern Zhou Dynasty, it belonged to Xingzhou, which was also called Zhengzhou. In the Sui Dynasty, it belonged to the same county and province as in the Northern Zhou Dynasty. In the Five Dynasties, it was still Mi County, belonging to Zhengzhou, and in the Song Dynasty, it belonged to northwest Beijing Road, Luoyang County, Henan Province.

In 1952, Chenliu district and Zhengzhou district were merged and named Zhengzhou district.
In 1955, Zhengzhou Commissioner's office moved from Xingyang to Kaifeng City, and changed its name to Kaifeng Commissioner's office.
In December 1958, through the approval of the 37th meeting of the people's Committee of Henan Province and the approval of the State Council, five counties in the western part of the former Kaifeng special area, including Xingyang and Mi County, were put under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou city.
On December 10, 1961, the provincial Party committee decided to put Xingyang, Mi County and other five counties under the jurisdiction of Kaifeng.
On September 1, 1983, the State Council approved the report on the merger of some prefectures and cities in Henan Province and the implementation of the system of city governing county. Gongxian County, Xinzheng County, Mi County, Dengfeng County and Zhongmou County in Kaifeng area were put under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou city.
On July 10, 1974, the new County Planning Office of Mi County was established.
In September 1979, after several years of construction, the new County of Mi County began to take shape. The county Party committee, the county reform committee and some units directly under the county government moved to the new county to work.
On August 13, 1982, with the approval of the State Council, six brigades (villages) of Huigou, Wulidian, Chugou, Yangzhai, Gaogou and ganzhai in Laiji Township and Chengguan town of Mi County were set up and Xinmi district was established under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou city.
On March 11, 1987, the State Council decided to abolish Xinmi District of Zhengzhou City and put Laiji and Qiligang townships under the jurisdiction of Mi County.
On April 5, 1994, Mi County was abolished and Xinmi City, a county-level city, was established, which was managed by Zhengzhou city.
