Zhanhua District, Binzhou District, Shandong Province, is located in the north of Shandong Province, the South Bank of Bohai Bay and the hinterland of Yellow River Delta. It is adjacent to Hekou District and Lijin County of Dongying City in the East, Bincheng District in the south, Yangxin County in the southwest and Wudi County in the West. In 2014, Zhanhua District, with a total area of 2215 square kilometers, has jurisdiction over 7 towns, 2 townships, 2 streets, 1 Coastal Defense Office, 438 administrative villages, and a total population of 390600.
Zhanhua was promoted to Zhaoan County in 1042, the second year of Qingli in the Northern Song Dynasty, and Zhaoan County became Zhanhua County in 1195, the sixth year of jinmingchang in the Jin Dynasty. It belongs to the alluvial plain of the Yellow River in the north of Shandong Province, which is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. It is located in the warm temperate monsoon climate zone, with obvious continental meteorological characteristics and significant difference in four seasons. The annual average temperature is 12 ℃.
It is known as "the hometown of Chinese winter jujube". It has been awarded the "national advanced county (District)" in the activities of striving for excellence, "national green agriculture demonstration zone", "national economic forest demonstration county (District)" and "agricultural products advantage zone with Chinese characteristics". On December 13, 2018, Zhanhua district was selected into the list of agricultural products advantage zones with Chinese characteristics. The second batch of national agricultural product quality and safety counties. On December 6, 2019, it was selected as the pilot unit of promoting the quality improvement of farmers' cooperatives in the whole county.

The origin of the name
Zhaoan town was set up in Tang Dynasty, and Shengzhen town in Song Dynasty was a county. Zhaoan County was named along the line, and now Zhanhua County is changed. The name of the county is derived from gongsuizhi County, the governor of Bohai Sea in Han Dynasty.
Evolution of organizational system
In Zhanhua, Shang belonged to the state of pugu (also known as Bogu). Zhou belongs to the state of Qi. Qin Dynasty belongs to Yanci county.
In the Western Han Dynasty, Shiwo county (luowo county) belonged to Qiancheng County in the southeast, Fuping County belonged to Pingyuan County in the southwest, and Yangxin County belonged to Bohai County in the northwest.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Qiancheng County of Le'an state was in the southeast, Yanci County of Pingyuan County in the southwest, and Yangxin County of Bohai County in the northwest.
During the Three Kingdoms period, it belonged to Wei. In the East, it is Shiwo County of Leling state, and in the west, it is Yanci county and Yangxin County. Because of the Wei system in the Western Jin Dynasty, the subordination remained unchanged.
In the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the northern and Southern Dynasties, it was Yangxin County, Yanci county and Shiwo county. In Sui Dynasty, Yangxin County was located in the west of Bohai County, and Putai county was located in the east of Bohai county.
In the Tang Dynasty, in 621, Bohai county was changed to Dizhou, and the county was then under the jurisdiction of Dizhou. In 688, Putai and Yanci set up Bohai County, and built Zhaoan town in Bohai County, which is now Zhanhua ancient city. In the first year of Tianbao (742), di Prefecture was changed into Le'an County, and Zhao'an town was changed into Le'an county. In the first year of the Shang Yuan Dynasty (760), Le'an county was renamed Dizhou, and Zhao'an town still belonged to Bohai county. In the period of Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Zhou Xiande set up Binzhou in the third year (956), Bohai and Putai counties of Gedi Prefecture, and Zhaoan town was subordinate to Binzhou.
In the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhaoan town in Bohai county was still Binzhou. In the second year of Qingli (1042), Zhaoan town was promoted as a county, which was the beginning of the establishment of the county. Xining six years (1073) and provincial county for the town back to Bohai County, Yuanfeng two years (1079) back to Zhaoan County.
In the first year of Jingkang (1126), the Song Dynasty was destroyed by the Jin Dynasty. Zhaoan County belonged to the Jin Dynasty and still belonged to Binzhou. In the sixth year of jinmingchang (1195), Zhaoan County became Zhanhua County.
In the Yuan Dynasty, along the Jin Dynasty, Zhanhua District belonged to Bindi road in the third year of Zhongtong (1262). After the second year of Yuan Dynasty (1265), Zhanhua District belonged to Binzhou in Jinan road.
In the Ming Dynasty, Zhanhua District belonged to Binzhou, Jinan Prefecture.
In the early Qing Dynasty, the Ming system was adopted. In 1734, Wuding Prefecture was changed into a prefecture, and Zhanhua District belonged to Wuding Prefecture. The county has four townships and 25 Li in total. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (the middle of the 18th century), there were 291 villages under the jurisdiction of the whole county. By the 16th year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1890), there were 476 villages.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the government set up roads, and Zhanhua belonged to DaiBei road. In 1914, DaiBei road was changed to Jinan Road, and Zhanhua district was attached to it. Wuding Road was established in 1925, and Zhanhua district was changed to Wuding Road. In 1928, Dao was abolished and the county was directly under the provincial government. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese war in 1937, the KMT Shandong provincial government designated Zhanhua as the administrative region of northern Shandong, and the Anti Japanese democratic government designated Zhanhua as the border region of Hebei and Shandong. In October 1941, it was returned to Qinghe district. In January 1944, Hebei Shandong border district and Qinghe district were merged into Bohai administrative region. In 1949, it belonged to the Bohai reclamation area.
In 1950, the Bohai Sea area was abolished and a special area for the benefit of the people was established. Zhanhua was changed into a special area for the benefit of the people. In the autumn of 1957, the county moved from Zhancheng to Fuguo street. In 1958, Huimin district and Zibo City were merged into Zibo district. Lijin County was merged into Zhanhua County, which belongs to Zibo district. In 1961, the Huimin district was divided into Zibo City and Lijin County, and Zhanhua County was a Huimin district. In 1967, Zhanhua County was renamed as a district, which belongs to Huimin District of Shandong Province. In 1992, it was renamed Binzhou area. In 2001, it was established as a prefecture level Binzhou City. Zhanhua County belongs to Binzhou City. On September 9, 2014, the State Council approved Shandong Province to adjust some administrative divisions of Binzhou City (Guo Han [2014] No. 119), abolish Zhanhua County and establish Zhanhua District of Binzhou City. The former administrative region of Zhanhua County is the administrative region of Zhanhua District, and Zhanhua District People's government is stationed at No. 166, Jinhai fifth road, Fuguo street.

According to the "ten road map" of the Tang Dynasty, each county has its own Township and each township has its own li. It can be seen that the establishment of the township has been going on for a long time. It is not known when Zhanhua village was set up. According to the old records, there were four townships (fengle Township, Xiaoti Township, Renshou Township and Zhongxin township) with 48 Li in the county, with the township ruling the village and the village ruling the village. In 1512 (the seventh year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty), 48 Li was merged into 24 Li, and the township remained the same. In the Qing Dynasty, the county had four townships and 25 Li in total. In the middle of the 18th century (during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty), there were 291 villages under the jurisdiction of the whole county. By 1890 (in the 16th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), there were 476 villages.
In 1931, the setting of township was changed to that of district township (town). The township led the village by district. There were 7 districts, 62 townships, 7 towns and 462 villages in total. The county covers an area of about 2250 square kilometers. In October 1945, the county was divided into seven districts and one town (Xiawa town). In 1946, the five districts were divided into five eastern districts and five western districts. Xiawa town was renamed Xiawa district. In January 1947, eight districts were added. At this time, the county had jurisdiction over 10 districts.
In September 1949, the county had eight districts, one town and 91 townships. In February 1950, Xinhua, HUANGSHENG, Yongfeng, Botou and Taiping were renamed District 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7; Fuguo district was renamed District 5, Maying district was renamed District 6, Yihe district was renamed District 8; Xiawa town was abolished and merged into District 3; Binhai County was abolished and Lijia District and Guoju district were restored to Zhanhua, which were divided into nine districts and ten districts. In April 1952, the county was divided into townships, 10 districts, 109 townships and 1 town. In May 1956, ten districts were abolished and merged into seven districts. In 1957, the county was divided into 4 towns and 35 townships. In September 1958, the county set up 14 people's communes, namely Fuguo, Yongfeng, Xiawa, Chengguan, HUANGSHENG, Botou, Liguo, Xiahe, Yihe, liutuo, Guoju, Taiping, Lijia and Beiji. A total of 525 production teams were led.
In November 1958, Lijin County was incorporated into Zhanhua County, with 26 people's communes under its jurisdiction. Chengguan people's commune was renamed Zhancheng people's commune. In February 1960, Yanjia people's commune of Binxian county was put under the jurisdiction of Zhanhua County, with 27 communes under its jurisdiction. In June 1960, eight people's communes in Zhanhua County, including Taiping, Guoju, Yihe, liutuo, Luozhen, Tongxing, Lianhe and Wuzhuang, and part of the Lijia commune, were assigned to Kenli County. Zhanhua still has 19 people's communes under its jurisdiction.
In September 1961, the division was adjusted. Yanjia commune returned to Bin County, Taiping, Guoju, Yihe and liutuo communes returned to Zhanhua, and Zhanli was divided. Zhanhua County still governed the original 14 people's communes.
In May 1962, Fuguo commune was divided into Fuguo commune, Bashang commune and Xingxing commune. The county governs 16 communes.
In February 1963, 16 large communes were abolished, and the county was transformed into 9 districts, under which 58 small communes were under the jurisdiction. In May 1968, the district was withdrawn and merged into small communes, and 19 communes including Zhancheng, HUANGSHENG, Liuzhong, Xiawa, Yongfeng, Botou, wanghou, Fuguo, qiqukai, hegui, Maying, Xiahe, Yihe, Sikou, Taiping, Xinhu, Lijia, Fengjia and Guoju were established. In March 1969, Guoju fishery commune was renamed Haiphong fishery commune. In March 1971, Wang Hou commune was withdrawn and Dagao commune was established. In April 1982, Zhancheng commune was renamed Gucheng commune, Maying commune was renamed Liguo commune, Fuguo commune was abolished and Fuguo town was established. At this time, the total area of the county is 2741.5 square kilometers.
In September 1983, the four communes of Yihe, Sikou, Taiping and Xinhu were assigned to Dongying City, with 14 communes in one town under the jurisdiction of the county. In June 1984, the commune was withdrawn and the township was established. The county governs Fuguo Town, Gucheng town and Xiawa Town, and Dagao Township, HUANGSHENG Township, Liuzhong Township, Yongfeng Township, Botou Township, Qiqu Township, hegui Township, Liguo Township, Xiahe Township, Li Township and Feng township. In October of the same year, the coastal defense office was established, with 3 towns and 11 townships under the jurisdiction of the county and 1 office. Townships and towns command 443 administrative villages.
In December 1996, Botou Township and Fengxiang Township were set up as towns. In 1998, Yongfeng Township was set up as towns. In March 2001, qiqukai township was abolished and its administrative region was merged into Fuguo town; Yongfeng town was abolished and its administrative region was merged into Xiawa town; Li Township was abolished and its administrative region was merged into Fengjia town; Liuzhong township was abolished and its administrative region was merged into Dagao township; hegui Township and tuhaihe farm were abolished and the former hegui township was replaced
