Gongxian County is a county under the jurisdiction of Yibin City, Sichuan Province. It is located in the south of Yibin City, between 104 ° 38 ′ - 105 ° 02 ′ E and 27 ° 53 ′ - 28 ° 31 ′ n, bounded by Gaoxian County in the north, 46 km away from Cuiping District of Yibin City; connected with Daxueshan in the south, 69 km away from Weixin County of Yunnan Province; bordered by Junlian County in the west, Xingwen County and Changning County in the southeast and northeast. The county government is located in Xunchang Town, 56 kilometers away from the city government.
Gongxian County has such trunk roads as Xugao highway, Chuanyun highway and Yiwei highway connecting Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces. Chengdu Gongxian railway and Jinyun railway run through the county and are important transportation hub and material distribution center in the south of Yibin City. The high-grade cement road leads directly to the urban area of Yibin City and reaches Yibin airport and Yangtze River shipping terminal within 1 hour.
Gongxian is an important energy, building materials and chemical base in Sichuan Province, storing 1.215 billion tons of anthracite, 226 million tons of pyrite, 47 million tons of quartz sand and other 14 kinds of rare minerals. In addition, Gongxian also has Shangluo Town, the "first town in China using shale gas". Gongxian County is an important part of Yibin half-hour economic circle in the junction of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou, with forest coverage rate of 43.68% and green coverage rate of 47.28%. It is the first mountain county in Sichuan Province to achieve green standard.
Gongxian County has the national key cultural relics protection unit "Bo people hanging coffin". It is known as "bodu with verve, an important throat town". In 2013, Gongxian's GDP reached 10.499 billion yuan, an increase of 8.8% over 2012.
On April 28, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to withdraw Gongxian from the poverty-stricken county sequence.
Evolution of organizational system
In the pre Qin period, there were Bo people living here in Gongxian County. There was a "Bohou state" in Yibin. Gongxian County was also known as "ancient Bo state", "Bozhou", "capital of Bozhou" or "bodu" and "Boxiang".
The Han Dynasty was located in Nanguang County, and fujiaba was the seat of Nanguang County in the early Han Dynasty.
In Tang Dynasty, Gong, Xue (SA) and Jimi prefecture were established. The Song Dynasty was the master of Luo.
In the 22nd year of Zhizheng reign of Emperor Shun of the Yuan Dynasty and the first year of Tiantong reign of Yuzhen of the Ming Dynasty (1362), Luo Ji's chief secretary (now Gongquan town) was changed to Gongzhou (there is Gongxi in the southwest, so it is called the name of the state. It is also said that Gongzhou was set up in the Tang Dynasty and Gongjin was gong).
In the fourth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1371), Gongxian County was demoted to a county, which has been followed up to now. In the Qing Dynasty, it was a county under the jurisdiction of Xuzhou.
During the Republic of China, it was a county under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province (Xuzhou, xiachuannandao, yongningdao, the sixth administrative supervision district, etc.).
Gongxian County was liberated on December 10, 1949. On January 1, 1950, the South Sichuan administrative office of southwest administrative region was established, which belongs to Gongxian County. On January 2, Yibin special district of southern Sichuan was established, belonging to Gongxian County.
On September 1, 1952, Yibin special district of southern Sichuan was renamed Yibin special district of Sichuan Province, belonging to Gongxian County.
In 1954, the Commissioner's office of Yibin District of Sichuan Province was renamed as the Commissioner's office of Yibin, which belongs to Gongxian County.
In April 1967, Yibin Prefecture of Sichuan Province was renamed Yibin Prefecture, which belongs to Gongxian County.

In 2006, Gongxian County adjusted the administrative divisions of towns: Chensheng township was abolished and merged into Didong town; Baoping township was abolished and merged into Xialuo township; Zhongshan Township was abolished and merged into Mutan township; Baoshan Township was abolished and merged into Xiaoer town. The administrative division system of towns has been adjusted from 21 towns (8 towns, 13 townships) to 17 towns (8 towns, 9 townships).

Gongxian County is a mountainous county with high terrain in the South and low terrain in the north. The terrain is long and narrow. The highest altitude is 1642 meters, which is near silipu of Wangjia town on the border of Yunnan Province; the lowest altitude is 310 meters, which is Shizitan on the outskirts of Gongquan town. The terrain is mainly composed of limestone and purple shale, with obvious karst topographic features, such as caves, funnels, stalagmites, limestone, etc. The area of hill and flat dam is small, mainly in middle and low mountains, with a few karst alluvial dams, and some hills in the northwest. Pingba is mainly distributed in Xunchang, Shangluo, Luohai and other towns, mainly including qingshanba, dazhaiba, haitangba, matangba, shangluoba, xialuoba, xunchangba, etc. Hills are distributed in Gongxian County. The Gongxian section of the Nanguang river is 60.95 km long, 50-150 m wide, with the deepest water level of about 20 m. The Beach is steep and the flow is rapid, so it can be navigable. There are five tributaries in Nanguang River Basin, including Dengjia River, Jianwu River, Luohai River, Wangjia River and Xunchang river.
Dengjia River: it is the main tributary of the upper reaches of Nanguang river. It has a flow of 8.5 kilometers, a river width of 40-60 meters and a navigable wooden boat. The basin covers an area of 537.4 square kilometers, with an average annual flow of 18.6 cubic meters per second and an average annual runoff of 886 million cubic meters.
Jianwu River: it has a flow of 4.23 kilometers, a width of 20-40 meters, and a drainage area of 208.9 square kilometers. The annual average discharge is 6.62 m3 / s, and the annual average runoff is 210 million m3.
Luohai River: the total length of the river is 41.6 km, with a flow of 21.3 km. The basin covers an area of 318.2 square kilometers, with an average annual discharge of 12.5 cubic meters per second and an average annual runoff of 394 million cubic meters.
Wangjia River: 18900 meters in length, 5-15 meters in width, with a drainage area of 66.3 square kilometers. The annual average discharge is 2.52 m3 / s, and the annual average runoff is 79.4 million m3. The available drop is 710 meters, the theoretical hydropower reserve is 8275 kW, and the hydropower resources can be developed by 2540 kW.
Xunchang River: Xunchang river flows 13.5 kilometers in Gongxian County, with a drainage area of 98.15 square kilometers, an average annual flow of 1.99 cubic meters per second and an average annual runoff of 63 million cubic meters.
Gongxian section of Luopu river is 31 kilometers long, with a drainage area of 389.51 square kilometers, an average annual flow of 10.35 cubic meters per second, and an average annual runoff of 326 million cubic meters.
