Wucheng County, belonging to Dezhou City, Shandong Province, is located in the northwest border of Shandong Province, Northwest Shandong plain, East Bank of Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, between 37 ° 03 'n to 37 ° 23' n and 115 ° 51 'e to 116 ° 17' e, with a total area of 748 square kilometers. At the beginning of the Western Han Dynasty, dongwucheng county and Dongyang county were established, both of which were subordinate to Qinghe County of Jizhou governor department. Dongyang county is near Jiamaying in the east of Weiyun river. According to the geographical location, today's Wucheng county belongs to Dongyang county.
The Eastern Han Dynasty belongs to the Qinghe state of Jizhou. According to enxianzhi, "in 148, Emperor Huan of the Eastern Han Dynasty changed Qinghe County into Qinghe state." Later, it belonged to Qinghe County of Jizhou Department of Caowei, and it was dongwucheng county.

During the period of Sixteen States in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it belonged to houzhao at the beginning, Qianyan in the middle and qianqin in the later, and has been subordinate to Qinghe County.
During the northern and Southern Dynasties, it was originally under the jurisdiction of Qinghe County in Jizhou, Liu Song Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty (457-464), Emperor Xiaowu of Liu Song belonged to Qinghe County of Xiangzhou in the Northern Wei Dynasty.
The fourth year of Wuding in the Eastern Wei Dynasty (546) belongs to Qinghe County.
In the Northern Qi Dynasty, the rule of Qinghe County was moved from 15 Li northeast of Linqing to Xincheng, 15 Li northwest of Qinghe County in Hebei Province. Beiqiu County, about 10 Li southeast of Linqing, was merged into the old rule of Qinghe County, which was renamed as Beiqiu County, and Wucheng was also incorporated into Beiqiu county.
In 577, the sixth year of Jiande, Emperor Wu of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, pingqi dismissed the county and set up beizhou.
In the early Sui Dynasty, it still belonged to beizhou and Beiqiu County of Qinghe County. "In the sixth year of kaihuang's reign (586), the Wucheng County of Yangping was abolished. It was still in Beiqiu county. The old land of dongwucheng was analyzed and Wucheng county was established." In the 16th year of the reign of the emperor, Li Ting was set up in Wucheng. In the 18th year, Dongyang county was changed to Zhangnan County, belonging to beizhou. In the second year of Daye (606), the state was abolished and Qinghe County was restored. " It can be inferred that the present Wucheng County belonged to Zhangnan County in the north, Liting County in the South and Wucheng County in the southwest.
The Tang Dynasty belonged to Qinghe County, Daobei Prefecture, Hebei Province.
In the early Song Dynasty, it belonged to beizhou, Hebei East Road. In 1048, the king of Zhuoxian County revolted, and the emperor ordered Wen Yanbo to fight against him. When he killed the king, he pardoned his subordinates. Therefore, he asked the emperor to approve the change of beizhou to enzhou, and Wucheng to enzhou.
After the establishment of the Southern Song Dynasty, it belonged to the state of enzhou in jindamingfu.
In the early Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Dongping road. In 1270, it was transferred to Gaotang Prefecture.
Ming Dynasty belonged to Gaotang Prefecture, Dongchang Prefecture, Shandong Province.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Gaotang Prefecture, Dongchang Prefecture, Shandong Province. In 1730, Gaotang Prefecture was changed into Zhili Prefecture, with jurisdiction over four counties. Wucheng from the back path belongs to Dongchangfu linqingzhou.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the national government abolished the system of government and prefecture, and Shandong Province set up Jiaodong Road, Jixi Road, Dainan road and DaiBei road.
In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), the Ministry of internal affairs of the national government announced the names of provinces and regions, changed Jixi road in Shandong Province to Donglin Road, and Wucheng County belonged to Donglin road.
In 1925, Wucheng county was changed to delindao.
In 1927, the national government abolished the Taoist system and set up provincial and county governments. Wucheng county was under the jurisdiction of Shandong provincial government.
In 1932, the executive yuan of the national government set up the office of the Commissioner of administrative supervision as the agency of the provincial government. Wucheng county belongs to the office of Linqing administrative inspector.
In 1937, there were 12 administrative regions in Shandong Province. Wucheng county was the fourth Office of the Commissioner of administrative supervision.
In 1938, Shandong provincial government set up three administrative offices in Luxi, Lubei and Jiaodong, and divided them into 12 administrative supervision districts. Wucheng county is the fourth administrative supervision office of Luxi administrative office.
In 1945, six provincial government offices were set up in Shandong Province, including North Shandong and Northwest Shandong. Wucheng county is the fourth Office of the administrative inspector general of Northwest Shandong. In the same year, the whole territory of Wucheng county was liberated, and the rule of the Kuomintang came to an end.
In May 1940, the Communist Party of China led the people of Wucheng county to establish the Anti Japanese democratic government of Wucheng County, which was subordinate to the office of the chief executive of Southern Hebei Province.
In August 1940, it became the sixth exclusive office of the executive director's office of Taihang Taiyue administrative joint office in Southern Hebei.
On September 1, 1941, it became the second exclusive branch of the Southern Hebei administrative office of the Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan border region government.
In May 1945, the Southern Hebei administrative office was merged into the Hebei Shandong Henan Administrative Office, and the Anti Japanese democratic government of Wucheng county was also the second special administrative office of the Hebei Shandong Henan Administrative Office of the Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan border region government.
In August 1945, the Japanese aggressor army surrendered and won the Anti Japanese war. The Anti Japanese government of Wucheng county was renamed Wucheng county government. Its subordination has not changed.
During the Anti Japanese war in 1938, the puppet Wucheng County Office was established, which was subordinate to Lubei Road, the puppet Shandong provincial office.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), the puppet government office of Shandong Province changed four roads into ten roads, and the puppet government office of Wucheng county changed to Donglin road.
In August 1945, the Japanese aggressor army surrendered unconditionally, and the puppet Wucheng County Office disappeared.
On August 13, 1949, it was transferred to Hengshui Office of Hebei Province.
In 1950, the county government was renamed Wucheng County People's government.
In 1952, the people's Government of Wucheng county was transferred to Dezhou District of Shandong Province.
In 1956, Dezhou district was abolished and Wucheng county was changed into Liaocheng district of Shandong Province.
In December 1958, Wucheng was merged into Xiajin County, under the jurisdiction of Liaocheng district.
In June 1961, Xiajin and Wucheng were separated and Dezhou district was restored. Wucheng belonged to it.
In 1967, Dezhou district was changed into Dezhou District, and Wucheng still belongs to it.
In April 1995, Dezhou district was withdrawn to build a city, and Wucheng county has been subordinate to it so far.
In 1973, the Wei canal was widened and the county moved to Guangyun street.

In the second half of the Qing Dynasty, Wucheng county was divided into 410 villages with 26 Li.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it is said in the sequel of Wucheng county annals that "the well and the border are the same, but the city remains the same." In the same year, the measured county is 40 Li wide from east to west and 60 Li long from north to south, with small soil. The whole county is divided into one district and four townships. The city is surrounded by 27 villages; 81 villages in the southeast of the city are liguantun township; 74 villages in the Northeast are Liutang township; 80 villages in the northwest are wuguanzhai township; 91 villages in the southwest are Wazi Township, totaling 353 villages.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Wucheng county has jurisdiction over five districts, namely, districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
In May 1950, according to the regulation of administrative division adjusted by the Administrative Council, five districts were divided into three or four districts.
From the end of 1953 to June 1954, five districts were restored and 58 small townships were established.
In 1955, each district was named after its residence, and the scope of townships was expanded. The first district was changed to dongtun District, the second district to Chengguan District, the third district to Sunzhuang District, the fourth district to raoyangdian District, and the Fifth District to Xiazhuang district. There are 39 small townships.
In the spring of 1956, en county was abolished and most of tengzhuang, Jiucheng and liuwangzhuang districts were merged into Wucheng county. Six districts and 67 townships were re divided.
At the beginning of 1958, 18 townships were established. To the east of the Wei canal are nine townships: Yangzhuang, dongtun, zhuguantun, Jiamaying, tengzhuang, Mazhuang, xiwangtun, Jiucheng and liuwangzhuang; to the west of the river are nine townships: zuyang, juntun, Sunzhuang, wazizhuang, wuguanzhai, raoyandian, liguantun, wulantun and caoguantun.
From the autumn of 1958 to the winter of 1964, eight communes were established in the county, namely Chengguan, Jiamaying, tengzhuang, Jiucheng, lijiahu, zuyang, wuguanzhai and raoyangdian.
In the winter of 1964, the area west of Wei canal was assigned to Gucheng County of Hebei Province, and Hedong was assigned to 10 communes, namely Yangzhuang, Chengguan, zhuguantun, Jiamaying, Luquantun, tengzhuang, Mazhuang, Jiucheng, Liangzhuang and lijiahu.
In 1965, five communes were designated from Pingyuan county. So far, the county has jurisdiction over 15 communes, namely Yangzhuang, Chengguan, zhuguantun, Jiamaying, Luquantun, tengzhuang, sinisi, zhangguansi, haowangzhuang, dongwangzhuang, Datun, Mazhuang, Jiucheng, Liangzhuang and lijiahu.
