In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Anxian (Anzhou) and Xin'an were merged into Anxin County, belonging to Baoding road in Zhili Province. On December 23, 1994, Baoding district and Baoding City merged into Baoding City, and Anxin county was subordinate to it. On April 1, 2017, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued a notice and decided to establish xiong'an New Area in Hebei Province. Anxin county is under the management of xiong'an new area. Anxin county has provincial highway Rongli line and Baojing line, and Baiyangdian Lake, the largest freshwater lake in North China Plain.

Historical evolution
Anxin county was under the jurisdiction of the state of Yan in the early Warring States period, and then in the south of Yan and the north of Zhao. There were Ge City (now Anzhou town), Hun city and Santai city.
In the Qin Dynasty, Guangyang and Julu were the two counties.
From the Western Han Dynasty to the Sui Dynasty, most of them were under the jurisdiction of Gaoyang and Rongcheng counties.
In the first year of Ruyi (692), Wuchang county was established in Gecheng; in the first year of Shenlong (705), Wuxing county was established; in the second year of Guangde (764), tangxing county was established. It successively belongs to Yingzhou, Yizhou and mozhou, all of which belong to Hebei Province.
During the Five Dynasties, tangxing county was changed to Yichuan County in the early Jin Dynasty, belonging to mozhou.
In the Song Dynasty, the Shun'an army was established (today's Anzhou Leitou), and later moved to Gaoyang County (today's old city of Gaoyang). The Shun'an army was promoted to Anzhou.
In the 28th year of Jin Dading (1188), Anzhou moved to govern Gecheng and set up Gecheng County; in the 4th year of Taihe (1204), it set up wocheng county (huncheng, Xin'an city); in the 8th year of Taihe (1208), Anzhou moved to govern wocheng County, called xin'anzhou, and Gecheng was still a county.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Anzhou still led wocheng and Gecheng counties, and moved to Gecheng. After several mergers, in 1272, Anzhou, Gecheng and wocheng were restored, and wocheng county was renamed Xin'an County. Anzhou leads Gecheng county and belongs to Baoding road with Xin'an County.
In the Ming Dynasty, Gecheng county and Xin'an County entered Anzhou, and Anzhou was reduced to an County. After the restoration of Anzhou (Anxian that is abolished) and Xin'an County, Anzhou governance Xin'an County, Baoding Prefecture.
