Fangcheng District Fangcheng district is located on the northern Bay of Southern Xinjiang of China and in the center of Fangchenggang. It leads to Nanning in the north, Fangchenggang in the south, Qinzhou in the East and Dongxing in the southwest. It is connected with Vietnam by mountains and rivers. With more than 260000 overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao, it is the second largest hometown of overseas Chinese in Guangxi.
Fangcheng district is the hometown of Camellia, star anise and cinnamon in China. In 2008, it was one of the top ten counties for scientific development in Guangxi, and a pilot county for industrial development in Guangxi.
Evolution of organizational system
In the pre Qin period, Fangcheng belonged to Baiyue, which was under the jurisdiction of Xiang county established by Qin after the first emperor of Qin unified Lingnan; in the Han Dynasty, it belonged to Hepu County, which was still under the jurisdiction of Wu from the Three Kingdoms to Jin; in the Southern Dynasties, it belonged to Songshou County, which was under the jurisdiction of Jiaozhou; in the Liang and Chen dynasties, it belonged to Anjing County, which was under the jurisdiction of Anzhou; in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, it belonged to Qinzhou. In Song Dynasty, it was still under the jurisdiction of Qinzhou and began to be called "Fangcheng". In yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was subordinate to Qinzhou or Lianzhou; in 1888, Fangcheng county was set up in the west of Qinzhou, which was subordinate to Guangdong Province.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the period of the Republic of China and the founding of the people's Republic of China after liberation, it was still under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province. Fangcheng county was entrusted to Guangxi in 1951, and was assigned to Guangxi in June 1955. During the period from July 1955 to July 1965, Fangcheng county was divided into 100000 dashantang Yao Autonomous County and Fangcheng county. In May 1958, with the approval of the State Council, 100000 dashantang Yao Autonomous County was renamed Dongxing ethnic autonomous County. In December 1958, Fangcheng county and Dongxing Ethnic Autonomous County were merged and named Fangcheng county Dongxing Ethnic Autonomous County, the county is located in Dongxing town. In August 1965, Dongxing Autonomous County of all nationalities was put under Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
In November 1978, with the approval of the State Council, the county was moved from Dongxing town to Fangcheng Town, and its name was changed to Fangcheng Autonomous County. In 1984, the State Council approved Fangchenggang district and Beihai city to be listed as 14 coastal open cities in China. In March 1985, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee of the Communist Party of China and the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region decided to establish Fangchenggang district at the prefecture level, which is directly under the leadership of the autonomous region.
On May 23, 1993, the State Council approved the abolition of Fangcheng Autonomous County and Fangchenggang district and the establishment of Fangchenggang City (prefecture level). The former administrative region of Fangcheng Autonomous County and Fangchenggang district was taken as the administrative region of Fangchenggang City, and Shangsi County in Qinzhou Prefecture was put under the leadership of Fangchenggang city. Fangchenggang City governs Fangcheng District, Gangkou district and Shangsi county. At the same time, the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region decided that the former Dongxing Economic Development Zone (now a county-level city) should be under the leadership of Fangchenggang City and managed according to the department level system.
On May 23, 1993, with the approval of the State Council, Fangcheng Autonomous County was abolished and Fangchenggang City (prefecture level), port district and Fangcheng district were established. The original Fangcheng Autonomous County is divided into Fangcheng district and Dongxing Economic Development Zone (county level)]. On April 29, 1996, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the establishment of Dongxing City (county level) with the administrative regions of Dongxing, Jiangping and Malu in Fangcheng District of Fangchenggang City as the administrative regions.

Among them, there are 55549 in Fangcheng Town, 36277 in Dalu Town, 13203 in Huashi Town, 22712 in Nasuo Town, 25798 in Naliang Town, 11350 in Dongzhong Town, 38416 in Fucheng Town, 16336 in Maoling Town, 14506 in naqin Town, 12957 in Fulong Town, 22501 in Tanying Town, 5955 in Pingwang town, 11025 in BANBA Town, 14408 in Nadong town and 15118 in Jiangshan town.
On June 27, 2002, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZH No. 104) agreed to merge Fangcheng town and affiliated urban and rural areas in Fangcheng District of Fangchenggang City into Fangcheng town. The administrative areas under the jurisdiction of the original Fangcheng town and affiliated urban and rural areas were all under the jurisdiction of Fangcheng town. The urban and rural government of Fangcheng was originally attached to the urban and rural government. After the adjustment, the region has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 8 townships.
On June 13, 2005, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZH No. 168) agreed to adjust the administrative divisions of some townships in Fangcheng District: abolish Pingwang Township, merge the whole system into Tanying Township, and the government residence of Tanying Township remains unchanged; abolish naqin Township, merge the whole system into Fulong Township, and the government residence of Fulong Township remains unchanged; abolish Nadong Township, merge the whole system into Naliang Town, and the government residence of Naliang town remains unchanged; and abolish ban township Eight townships, the whole system into Dongzhong Town, Dongzhong town government resident unchanged.
