Xinzhou District Xinzhou district is a municipal district under the jurisdiction of Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It is the main urban area of Shangrao City and the residence of the CPC Shangrao Municipal Committee and municipal government. The city is the center of politics, economy, commerce, science and education, culture and transportation.
Xinzhou district is located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, the upper reaches of the Xinjiang River, a subtropical humid climate, abundant rainfall, mild climate, sufficient sunshine, four distinct seasons. The frost free period is about 288 days, the annual average temperature is 18.3 ℃, the annual rainfall is 1954.8 mm, and the annual sunshine hours is 1621.7 hours.
Xinzhou District has 5 sub district offices (Dongshi, Xishi, Beimen, Shuinan, maojialing), 4 towns (Shaxi, Lingxi, Qinfeng, Chaoyang), 67 Village (neighborhood) committees and 64 community neighborhood committees. The total area of land is 339 square kilometers, and the total registered residence population is 433 thousand and 600. The population of urban area is 281 thousand and the rural population is 135 thousand.
Historical evolution
Xinzhou district was originally Shangrao County. It has a history of more than 1700 years. In the first year of Qianyuan (758) of Tang Dynasty, the city wall had been built, and it had been used as the state and government office.
Shangrao County was built in Jian'an period at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. About 205 A.D., Shangrao County belonged to Yuzhang county at the beginning, and soon changed to Poyang County. In the early Jin Dynasty, it was merged into geyang county and still belonged to Poyang County. In the Southern Dynasty, Song Dynasty was restored.
Sui kaihuang nine years (589), again merged into geyang County, Raozhou. In the 12th year, geyang was renamed Yiyang. Tang Wude four years (621), Shangrao County. In the first year of the Qianyuan Dynasty (758), he was once again attached to Xinzhou.
In Song Dynasty, it still belonged to Xinzhou. Yuan to Yuan 14 years (1277), subordinate to Jiangsu and Zhejiang Province Xinzhou road. In 1370, Xinzhou road was changed into Guangxin mansion. In four years, Guangxin government was subordinate to Jiangxi Province. (Guangxin Prefecture does not refer to the area of Wuzhou, Hezhou and Fengkai in Guangxi, nor the intersection of Xijiang River and Hejiang river. The Guangxin Prefecture is located in Xinzhou District, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. There is no relationship between the two (the same below).
In 1914, Shangrao County was attached to Yuzhang road. In 1926, it was directly under Jiangxi Province. In 1932, it was attached to the sixth administrative region of Jiangxi Province. In 1938, Shangrao town was renamed Guangping town.
On May 3, 1949, Shangrao County was liberated, Guangping town and some nearby urban areas were separated out to establish Shangrao City, which covers a total area of 64.68 square kilometers and belongs to Shangrao district. In March 1960, Shangrao County was merged into Shangrao City, and the total area of the city expanded to 2554.68 square kilometers. In April 1964, Shangrao County was separated again, and the jurisdiction of Shangrao City was still the same as that at the beginning of the people's Republic of China.
In May 1993, with the approval of the people's Government of Jiangxi Province, Shaxi Town, Lingxi Township, Qinfeng Township and Chaoyang township of Shangrao County were put under the jurisdiction of Shangrao City, with an area of 338.6 square kilometers. It is five times the original area and still under the jurisdiction of Shangrao district administrative office.
On July 10, 2000, according to the notice of Jiangxi Provincial People's government, Shangrao Prefecture and county-level Shangrao City were abolished, and the former Shangrao City was renamed Xinzhou District, under the jurisdiction of the newly established prefecture level Shangrao City.
On December 3, 2001, Chetou administrative village of Changqing township was assigned to maojialing township; Dongmen administrative village was assigned to Dongshi sub district office; Qingfeng administrative village was assigned to Xishi sub district office; Changqing township system was abolished and Shuinan sub district office was established (reply No. 570 of ganmin Zi).
By the end of 2002, Xinzhou District had an area of 308 square kilometers and a population of 351000, including 182000 non-agricultural population. It has jurisdiction over 3 streets, 2 towns, 4 townships, 61 neighborhood committees and 75 administrative villages. The district government is located in Sanjiang Avenue. On September 28, 2003, Beimen township was abolished and a sub district office was established (reply No. 252 of ganmin Zi). By the end of 2003, the district had jurisdiction over four streets, two towns and three townships, with a total population of 361200.
On January 6, 2005, the Department of civil affairs of Jiangxi Province approved the cancellation of maojialing township to establish a sub district office in Xinzhou District of Shangrao City (GMZ No. 3): approved the cancellation of maojialing township to establish a sub district office. The establishment of sub district offices shall be examined and approved by Shangrao Municipal People's government. On November 16, Shangrao municipal government approved the establishment of maojialing sub district office in Xinzhou District (raomingzi No. 123): it agreed to set up maojialing sub district office, with the former century Garden neighborhood committee of maojialing Township and Shuinan sub district office as its administrative area, governing four neighborhood committees, namely century garden, choukou, Wangjiayuan and hutantou, and Jiefang, Tongxin, Tashui, Zhoutian and Che There are 6 administrative villages in maojialing and Maotou. The office is located in Lingyuan road. After the adjustment, Xinzhou District has jurisdiction over five streets, two towns and two townships: Shuinan street, Dongshi street, Xishi street, Beimen street, maojialing street, Shaxi Town, Lingxi Town, Qinfeng Township and Chaoyang township.
On January 20, 2006, Lingxi town was abolished and a sub district office was set up (reply No.5 of ganmin Zi).
On April 18, 2014, Qinfeng township was abolished and Qinfeng town was established.
On March 6, 2019, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of finance, the Ministry of culture and tourism, and the State Administration of cultural relics announced the list of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics (the first batch), in which Xinzhou district was included.

geographical environment
The landform type in the territory is mainly hilly and valley plain, belonging to hilly area. The Northeast hills belong to Huaiyu mountain range, including Jiangjun mountain, fanzhuangshan mountain, Niutou mountain, Huangjian mountain, Qingjian mountain, muzhou mountain, etc. the general altitude is 150-200 meters, and Huangjian mountain is the highest, with an altitude of 594.3 meters. Southwest, Northwest for low hills and hills, generally 50-100 meters above sea level. There are six rivers flowing through the territory, including Xinjiang River, yushanshui River, Fengxi River, raobei River, Zhuxi River and huangjiaxi River, all of which are guest water. The main rivers are Xinjiang River and its main tributaries Yushan River and Fengxi River, with the length of 3.8km, 27.5km and 8.5km respectively.
The inner layer of the area is mainly Cretaceous Shangrao Guifeng formation. There are four types of soil: paddy soil, tidal soil, purple soil and red soil. Yanjiang Xinzhou district is a humid monsoon area in the middle subtropical zone, with mild climate, abundant rainfall, sufficient sunshine, four distinct seasons and long frost free period, which is suitable for the growth of subtropical crops. The annual average temperature is 17.8 ℃. The average temperature in January is 6.2 ℃, and the extreme minimum temperature is - 9.7 ℃ (December 29, 1991). The average temperature in July is 28.8 ℃, and the extreme maximum temperature is 40.5 ℃ (August 5, 1990). The average annual precipitation is 1954.0 mm, which is a rainy area in Northeast Jiangxi.
The rainy season is concentrated in the first half of the year, especially from April to June. The average number of frost days over the years is 20.6 days. The maximum number of frost days was 32 days (1986-1987), and the minimum number of frost days was 9 days (1993-1994). The average number of frost free days over the years is 271.7 days, the longest is 304 days (1997-1998), and the shortest is 247 days (1987-1988). It is distributed in valley plain area, Southeast hilly red soil area and South Hilly Red soil area.

In 1999, the second class survey statistics of forest resources: the forest area is 9973 hectares, the sparse forest area is 132 hectares, and the shrubbery area is 1440 hectares.
Metamorphic rocks and magma are relatively developed in the territory, and mineral resources are relatively rich, mainly including phosphorus, coal, limestone, talc, granite, black talc, marble, etc. The phosphate deposit is located in Chaoyang Township, covering an area of about 25 square kilometers. The proven phosphate reserves rank first in six provinces in East China. Among them, the phosphate ore is mainly contained in Chaoyang township. It has been discovered that the ore body is about 7000 meters long from east to west, 1550 meters wide from south to north, 460 meters deep in vertical, and 107.03 million tons in geological reserves. It is the largest phosphate deposit in East China. The main minerals are black talc and kaolin. The black talc deposit is about 1 square kilometer, with reserves of about 10 million tons and surface overburden of about 5 meters. The mining cost is low. The grade of the deposit is high, with magnesium content of 27.78%. The kaolin reserves exceed 100 million tons, covering an area of 300 mu.
