Lianchi District, Lianchi District, which belongs to Baoding City, Hebei Province, is one of the downtown areas of Baoding. In 1953, Beishi District of Baoding was established. In 1955, Nanshi District was established. In December 1998, the southern and northern urban districts of Baoding city were adjusted, and the organizational system continued until April 2015. In May 2015, the State Council agreed to abolish the northern and southern districts of Baoding and establish Lianchi district. Lianchi district has Beijing Hong Kong Macao expressway, 107 National Road, Beijing Guangzhou railway and Beijing Guangzhou high speed railway. There are 35 cultural relics protection units (10 national protection units, 2 provincial protection units and 23 municipal protection units), including ancient lotus pond, Zhili governor's office, former site of Baoding military academy, dacige, Huaijun office, Qinghe Road Department, West mosque, former site of Yude middle school, Zhili courtroom, etc. On November 4, 2019, Lianchi district was rated as clean city (District) in 2018 by Hebei Provincial Department of housing and urban rural development.

History of construction
In 1953, Baoding City, Hebei Province, the original one and four districts were established, the original North urban area was established.
In 1955, the former one district and the former four districts were renamed the former Nanshi District.
In 1959, the north urban area was withdrawn and merged with the south urban area into Ludong district. In 1960, the north urban area was merged into Ludong district again.
In 1961, Baoding city was divided into four districts: Xinshi District, Yonghua District, Yuhua District and Xinhua District.
In 1962, Yonghua district and the northern half of Yuhua District merged into the northern urban area again. The southern part of Xinghua district and Yuhua District merged to form the southern urban area.
In November 1987, a total of 18 administrative villages in Hanzhuang and dongjinzhuang townships were under the jurisdiction of Beishi District. The jurisdiction of Beishi District increased to 5 streets and 2 townships: Hepingli Street, Wusi Road Street, Zhonghua Road Street, Xiguan Street, Jianhua road street, Hanzhuang Township and dongjinzhuang township. Yangzhuang, nandayuan and Jiaozhuang are zoned as southern urban areas.
In December 1998, the people's Government of Hebei Province approved the adjustment of the administrative divisions of some counties and districts in Baoding city. After the adjustment, some areas of Qingyuan County are classified as southern urban area, and some areas of southern urban area are classified as northern urban area. The northern urban district governs 5 streets and 3 townships, with 57 villages and 80 neighborhood committees. The southern urban district governs 5 streets and 4 townships. Since then, the southern and northern districts of Baoding city have been established until April 2015.
