Historical evolution
In the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (214), Dongxing belonged to Xiang County, which was then returned to the territory.
In the third year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (204), dongxingjing was the territory of Nanyue.
Yuan Ding six years (111 years), Dongxing territory is Jiaozhi county.
In the Three Kingdoms and Jin Dynasty, Dongxing belonged to the state of Wu, which was the land of Hepu County in Jiaozhou.
In 535, the first year of Liang Datong in the Southern Dynasty, Dongxing was originally named "Anping". Dongxing town is the seat of Anping County, which is also the residence of Huangzhou and Ninghai counties. Anping County is under the jurisdiction of Ninghai County and belongs to Huangzhou.
In 598, Huangzhou was renamed Yushan Prefecture. In 607, Anping County was renamed Hai'an County. The county government remained unchanged, and it was transferred to ningyue county.
In the fourth year of Tang Wude (622), Yushan Prefecture was set up to govern the area near Dongxing; in the second year of Zhenguan (628), Anhai county (renamed as Hai'an County) was changed to Qinzhou; in the second year of Shangyuan (675), Yushan Prefecture was restored and later renamed as Luzhou, and Anhai county was under its jurisdiction; in the first year of Tianbao (742), Luzhou was changed to Yushan County; in the second year of Zhide (757), Anhai county was renamed as Ninghai County, and its governance is still in the East In the first year of Qianyuan (758), Yushan County was changed to Luzhou, and Ninghai County was subordinate to Luzhou. During the Five Dynasties, dongxingjing belonged to the same area.
In 972, Ninghai County was abolished and merged into Anjing County of Qinzhou. In 988, Guangnan West Road was set up, which was called "Guangxi Road" for short. In 1006, Anjing county was changed into Anyuan County, and dongxingjing was under its jurisdiction.
In 1278, the pacification department was set up in Qinzhou; in 1280, Qinzhou was changed to Qinzhou Road, and the governor's office was set up to replace the pacification department, which was subordinate to the Xuanwei Department of haibeihai South Road in xiangzhongshu province of Tanzhou in the same year; in the next year, xiangzhongshu Province of Tanzhou was changed to Huguang Zhongshu Province, and Qinzhou road was changed to Xuanwei Department of haibeihai South Road.
In 1369, Qinzhou road was changed into Qinzhou Prefecture; in 1374, Qinzhou Prefecture was demoted to Qinzhou; in 1376, Qinzhou county was demoted to Qinzhou County, which was subordinate to Lianzhou; in 1381, Qinxian county was restored to Qinzhou, which was subordinate to Lianzhou Prefecture, which was subordinate to Guangdong political envoy.
In 1887, Qinzhou was directly under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, with Fangcheng County under its jurisdiction.
In 1920, Fangcheng county was directly under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province. In 1936, Fangcheng county was changed into the eighth administrative supervision district of Guangdong Province; in 1938, Fangcheng county was changed into the administrative office of Guangdong South Road, and dongxingjing was under the jurisdiction of Fangcheng county.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Dongxing was liberated on December 9, 1949, and suifangcheng county was under the jurisdiction of south Guangdong Road.
In 1950, Fangcheng county was transferred to the Qinlian District of Guangdong Province.
On May 14, 1951, Fangcheng County, together with Qinlian District, was entrusted to Guangxi; on August 11, 1951, Qinlian district was renamed Qinzhou District, and Fangcheng county was transferred to Guangxi.
On March 8, 1952, Fangcheng County, together with Qinzhou District, was officially put under the jurisdiction of Guangxi.
On May 31, 1955, Fangcheng county was put under the jurisdiction of Guangdong along with the restoration of Hepu special area. Today, Dongxing territory is still under the jurisdiction of Fangcheng county.
On March 26, 1957, part of Fangcheng county was under the jurisdiction of shiwanshantong (Zhuang) and Yao Autonomous County, and the county government was located in Dongxing.
On May 1, 1958, shiwanshantong (Zhuang) and Yao Autonomous County was renamed Dongxing Ethnic Autonomous County, which governed Dongxing town. On December 1, 1958, Fangcheng county was abolished and its administrative region was merged into Dongxing Ethnic Autonomous County. In the same year, China listed Dongxing as a class I port.
On March 20, 1959, Hepu district was abolished and Dongxing Autonomous County was transferred to Zhanjiang district.
On June 26, 1965, Dongxing Autonomous County was changed into Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region along with Qinzhou Prefecture.
In 1971, Qinzhou Prefecture was changed into Qinzhou Prefecture, and Dongxing Autonomous County was changed into a subordinate county.
On December 15, 1978, the county government of Dongxing Ethnic Autonomous County moved to Fangcheng town and changed its name to Fangcheng Ethnic Autonomous County.
In 1992, the State Council of China approved the opening up of Dongxing and established the Dongxing border economic cooperation zone and Dongxing economic development zone.
On July 17, 1993, Dongxing economic development zone was established under the jurisdiction of Fangchenggang City.
On April 29, 1996, with the approval of the State Council of China, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the establishment of Dongxing City (county level), which is managed by Fangchenggang City.

The altitude is generally lower than 100 meters, and the terrain is flat or slightly undulating. Most of the northern coastal plain has been reclaimed as paddy fields and cultivated land, where the crisscross fields and water network interweave.

The rivers in Dongxing City all originate from the south foot of shiwanda mountain and flow eastward into Beibu Gulf. The river flow is generally small. The larger ones are Beilun River, Jiangping River (called Nasuo River in the upper reaches) and Luofu river. Beilun River, 102 km long, is the boundary river between China and Vietnam, with a drainage area of 710 square kilometers. It originates from Baoji mountain in Dongzhong Town, flows through BANBA, Nadong, nariang in Fangcheng district and Dongxing town in Dongxing City, and is divided into two branches to the southwest of Dongxing City. One branch goes southwest through Yueshan in mang street, Vietnam, and the other branch goes southeast through Luofu in Dongxing and joins with Luofu River to Zhushan port The average flow is 81.1 m3 / s, and the annual average water volume is 2.56 billion m3.
