Chongren county is an important settlement of Jiangyou people. It was founded in 589, the ninth year of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty. History of construction
Chongren county was called Bashan County in ancient times. It belonged to Jiujiang County in Qin Dynasty and Yuzhang County in Western Han Dynasty.
In the ninth year of kaihuang (589) of Sui Dynasty, Bashan county and its counties were abolished, and Chongren county was set up with three counties of old Bashan, Xining and Xinjian. It belongs to Fuzhou.
In 1276, Fuzhou was changed to Lu, and Chongren County belonged to Fuzhou Lu; in 1376, Chongren County belonged to Fuzhou Fu; the Qing Dynasty inherited the Ming system.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the government of Fuzhou was abolished and Chongren county was directly under the central government of Jiangxi Province; in the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Jiangxi Province was divided into four districts, and Chongren County belonged to Yuzhang Dao; in the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), fengyuzhang Dao and Chongren county were directly under the central government of Jiangxi Province; in the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932), Jiangxi Province was divided into 13 administrative regions, and Chongren County belonged to the eighth administrative region.

After the Three Kingdoms period, Xinjian County and Xining county were established in Chongren. In the 19th year of song Shaoxing (1149), it was divided into three townships of Tianshu, Le'an and Zhongyi in the southwest of Chongren county and yungai Township in Yongfeng county.
On May 31, 1984, Taoyuan commune was divided into Taoyuan Township and Zhangfang township; Xiangshan commune was divided into Xiangshan Township, Shanxie Township and Gangxia township.
On March 15, 1985, Xiangshan township was abolished and Xiangshan town was established.
