Dingnan county is a county under the jurisdiction of Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. In 1569, Qibao County of Xinfeng, Longnan and Anyuan was established, which was subordinate to Ganzhou Prefecture and Ganzhou City since July 1999. Located in the southern border of Jiangxi Province, the source of Dongjiang River, is the Central Soviet area. The total area is 1321 square kilometers, and the 7 towns are under 7 towns. The population of 222 thousand and 400 registered residence in 2018.
Dingnan is connected with Guangdong by mountains and rivers. It has always been the throat of Jiangxi and Guangdong provinces and the main road for merchants. It is known as the "south gate of Jiangxi". Jiangxi Guangdong Expressway, Ningding expressway, Beijing Kowloon Railway, 238 national highway, 358 national highway and 535 national highway pass through the territory. Jiangxi Shenzhen passenger dedicated line is set with south west station and trains departing from north, forming a transportation network integrating high-speed, high-speed railway, railway and highway.
Dingnan county is a regional tourism demonstration county on the border of Jiangxi and Guangdong. As of November 2019, the county has the only national football training center in Jiangxi Province.

Historical evolution
Dingnan belonged to Yangzhou in ancient times, Chu after the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period, and Jiujiang County in Qin Dynasty.
In the third year of Longqing in the Ming Dynasty (1569), Qibao county was established by cutting Xinfeng, Longnan and Anyuan. That is to say, Tanqing banbao in Xinfeng (jingnao and Longtou in today's Lingbei town), Gaosha Bao in Longnan (today's old town and Kuimeishan town), Xiali Bao (today's Lishi Town, excluding Zhongsha, Xianling, Jianshe, Yangmei and Chebu), Hengjiang Bao (today's Lishi Town, Zhongsha, Xianling, Jianshe, Yangmei and Lingbei yuezi), Dashibao in Anyuan (today's egong, Zhentian, Wuhu, Hengshan, Tianjiu town) Oilfield, Jiuqu), xiaoshibao (today's Longtang town), bohongbao (today's nine towns, excluding Wuhu, Hengshan and oilfield) are located in Dingnan County, which governs Gaosha Liantang Town (today's old Chengwei) and belongs to Ganzhou Prefecture.
In the 38th year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty (1773), the county was cut down and the Department was changed. The Tongzhi of Ganzhou Prefecture was moved to Dingnan, which was the Dingnan Department of Ganzhou Fenfang Prefecture.
In the winter of 1913, the county government moved from Liantang to Xialisi (now Lishi town).
In 1914, Xunyang, Yuzhang, Luling and Gannan roads were set up in Jiangxi Province, and Dingnan county was subordinate to Gannan road.
In 1926, Gannan road was abolished and Zhili Province was established.
In 1932, the province was divided into 13 administrative regions, and Dingnan was subordinate to the 13th administrative region.
In 1933, the 11th and 13th administrative regions were merged and renamed Gannan administrative Commissioner's office.
In 1935, the whole province was divided into eight administrative regions, and Dingnan was subordinate to the fourth administrative region.
In July 1949, Dingnan was subordinate to the office of administrative inspector of Ganzhou district.
In May 1954, Dingnan was subordinate to Gannan administrative office.
In May 1964, Gannan administrative region was abolished and Ganzhou special region was established.
In January 1971, it was renamed Ganzhou area, and Dingnan was under its jurisdiction.
In August 1978, the administrative office of Ganzhou Prefecture was established, which was established in the south of Jiangxi Province.
In July 1999, Ganzhou Prefecture was abolished and Ganzhou City was set up.
On May 9, 2001, Chebu township was abolished and assigned to Lishi town. Qiaoshui, Changqiao and Chiling villages under the jurisdiction of smallpox Town were assigned to Lishi town. Jiuqu township was abolished and assigned to smallpox Town; smallpox Town was renamed Tianjiu town; jingnao Township, Longtou Township and yuezi town were abolished and merged into Lingbei town; Zhushi Township, Zhentian Township and egong Township were abolished and merged into egong town.

Dingnan county's agriculture is mainly based on rice. Dingnan honey pear, navel orange, tea, mushroom, agaric, dried bamboo shoots and so on are well-known at home and abroad. It is called "the hometown of honey pear in China" by relevant state departments.
