Gutian County Gutian County is a county under the jurisdiction of Ningde City, Fujian Province. It is located in the northeast of Fujian Province, on the North Bank of the middle and lower reaches of Minjiang River. Gutian river runs through the whole territory. At the end of 2019, the number of registered residence was 427 thousand and 400, with 2 streets, 8 towns and 4 townships. The county covers an area of 2385 square kilometers.
The county was established in 741, the 29th year of Kaiyuan in Tang Dynasty. It is known as "the hometown of water and electricity", "the hometown of overseas Chinese", "the hometown of Chinese edible fungi", "the hometown of sports" and "the hometown of culture". Gutianxi hydropower station is the first underground power station in China. Gutianxi hydropower station has been rated as China's sports advanced county and China's cultural model county.
In 2019, the GDP of Gutian County is 19.680 billion yuan, an increase of 7.3%, of which the added value of the primary industry is 4.685 billion yuan, an increase of 4.0%; the added value of the secondary industry is 5.205 billion yuan, an increase of 18.4%; the added value of the tertiary industry is 9.789 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3%. The added value of the primary industry accounted for 23.8% of the GDP, the secondary industry 26.5% and the tertiary industry 49.7%. The per capita GDP was 59277 yuan, an increase of 7.7% over the previous year.
In December 2016, it was listed as the third batch of national new urbanization comprehensive pilot areas.
Historical evolution
In the period of yin and Zhou dynasties, there were already ancestors in the territory.
In the 29th year of Kaiyuan (741), Houguan County, the capital of Fuzhou, was designated and Gutian County (also known as Yutian) was set up in the West. It belonged to Fuzhou, changlefu, Fuzhou Road, Fuzhou Fu, minhaidao, the third district and the second district.
In the period of Kaicheng of Tang Dynasty (836-840), the east of Gutian County was added Gande field by Ningchuan (later Ningde County, now Jiaocheng District).
From 980 to 988, the county government of Gutian County (the seat of the county government) moved to Shuikou. It was in Yuping Town, south of Cuiping mountain. (in 1958, due to the construction of Gutianxi hydropower station, the county was submerged by a reservoir. Naiqian county was moved to build a new town in zhuangyangli, Luohua Township, 9 kilometers southwest of the old city. In 2004, the town was removed and the street was rebuilt.).
By the early Qing Dynasty, the county was 120 Li in the east of Luoyuan Nantang Shangli, 120 Li in the west of Jian'an Nancai Li, 50 Li in the south of Minqing Yanshan, 150 Li in the north of Zhenghe junzhukeng, 100 li in the southeast of Houguan Sancang Shichun, 110 Li in the southwest of Nanping Chang'an, and 200 Li in the northeast of Ningde Shitang. It is 200 Li from the northwest to the boundary of Zhenghe and Shangzhuang. It is 283 Li from east to west and 550 Li from north to south.
In 1735, Pingnan County was designated as the northern capital of the county, and Gutian County was 70 Li north of Pingnan County. During the period of the Republic of China, the county boundary was 90 kilometers to Luoyuan County in the East, 55 kilometers to Nanping County in the west, 50 kilometers to Minqing County in the South and 35 kilometers to Pingnan County in the north. It is 195 kilometers long from east to west, 85 kilometers long from north to south, and has a total area of 2450 square kilometers.
In 1931, the Baojia system was implemented. It was initially set up as a district, and then changed to a township or town, belonging to the second administrative supervision district. After liberation, it belonged to Nanping special district, which was divided into 8 districts and governed 5 towns and 13 townships.
On June 14, 1949, Gutian was liberated and the people's democratic government of the county was established. The 15 townships (towns) below the county level were changed into democratic townships (towns) offices, and the Baojia system was followed. Administrative villages were established and the Baojia system was implemented. In July of the same year, democratic township (town) offices were removed and 14 district offices were set up (Xixi township was merged into Fengpu District). In August, it was downsized into seven district offices, namely, the first district, the Second District, Pinghu, the third district, Fengdu, the Fourth District, Kukou, Yiyang and Hetang. In September, the county people's democratic government was renamed the county people's government, and in December, the district office was renamed the District People's government.
In May 1950, it was reorganized, Baojia was abolished, and the system of district and village was implemented. The people's Government of the district made adjustments. The fourth district (under the Bureau) was abolished and merged into the first district (Chengguan). Part of the jurisdiction was divided from the Sixth District (Yong'an). The New Fourth District was established and the eighth district (Shanyang) was added. At the same time, 89 townships and 9 streets will be added. Under Chengguan Bureau of the first district, the District Committee is located in Chengguan, which governs 9 streets in the city and 10 townships in the suburbs; Pinghu and Fengpu of the Second District, which governs 13 townships; Fengdu and Taoxi of the third district, which governs 9 townships; Hengyang and Panyang of the Fourth District, which governs 10 townships; Huangtian and gukou of the Fifth District, which governs 11 townships; Yongan and Beiyang of the Sixth District, which governs 11 townships Dun District Committee is located in Yong'an and governs 11 townships; Hetang District Committee and Zhuoyang District Committee are located in Hetang and governs 13 townships; Shanyang District Committee and Dajia District Committee are located in Shanyang and governs 12 townships. In November of that year, the District People's government was renamed the district office.
In June 1952, the ninth (Zhuoyang), the tenth (Fengpu) and the eleventh (under the Bureau) district offices were added, and Gutian County was divided into 11 district offices. In September 1955, named after the residence, there were 11 district offices, namely Chengguan, Pinghu, Fengdu, Hengyang, gukou, Yong'an, Hetang, Shanyang, Zhuoyang, Fengpu and kuxia district offices. In December 1952, Chengguan District Office was renamed Chengguan Town People's Committee. In February 1956, Fengdu and Fengpu district offices were abolished, and Zhuoyang district offices were abolished in September. Gutian County had seven district offices and one town people's Committee.
In 1958, the state built Gutianxi reservoir, which was submerged and moved to zhuangyangli, Luohua Township, 9 kilometers southwest of the old city to build a new town. The new city is 133 km to Ningde City in the East and 114 km to Fuzhou City in the southeast.
In October 1958, eight people's communes were established in Gutian County. From 1959 to 1965, five people's communes and one Chengguan town were set up successively. The town was under the jurisdiction of the neighborhood committee and the community was under the jurisdiction of the production brigade. Jianou Xiaolu was put under Fengdu commune.
In 1963, it was transferred to Minhou special area.
In 1964, Pingshan Yinchang Tashan was incorporated into Pinghu commune. Since then, the situation of Gutian has not changed greatly.
In 1970, it was assigned to Ningde district.
In 1982, Gutian County had 13 communes, 1 Chengguan Town, 261 production teams, 5 neighborhood committees, 1490 natural villages, Pian villages and agricultural sites.
On April 5, 2004, Fujian Provincial People's Government approved to cancel the establishment of Chengdong sub district office and Chengxi sub district office in Xincheng Town, Songji Township and Hubin township of Gutian County.
On May 2, 2013, with the approval of Fujian Provincial People's government, it was agreed to abolish Dajia township of Gutian County and establish Dajia town.

Winter is short, summer is long, summer is not hot, winter is not cold, the climate is mild, the four seasons are not obvious, the difference is large. Huangtian Valley has 168 days in summer, 36 days in winter, 85 days in spring and 77 days in autumn, while Panyang mountain has 87 days in summer, 90 days in winter, 107 days in spring and 81 days in autumn. Gutian river runs through the West. It has a humid climate in the middle subtropical zone, with an average annual temperature of 27.6 ℃ and an annual precipitation of 1579 mm. The annual average temperature is between 16 ℃ and 21 ℃. The annual average temperature of hills, basins and valleys around the artificial lakes in Huangtian and Gutian is above 18 ℃, which is a warm area; the annual average temperature of low mountain areas in the East, north, West and central areas above 600 meters above sea level is below 17 ℃, which is a cool area.
hydrology
The territory is a humid area with abundant precipitation, with dense surface streams and dendritic water system. The river is divided by the Tuman mountains, the Aojiang River System in the East and the Minjiang River System in the West. The river in the county is a mountainous river, which mostly passes through the canyon, rapids and shoals, and the bed rock is exposed, which has a strong erosion effect on the surface. There are 27 main streams.
