Yongding District is located in the southwest of Fujian Province, connecting Nanjing County in the East, Pinghe County in the southeast, Dapu county and Meixian County in Guangdong Province in the southwest, Shanghang County in the northwest and Xinluo District in the northeast, with a total area of 2223 square meters. Since the Neolithic age, human beings have lived and multiplied. In 1478, Shanghang County was analyzed and Yongding County was established. In 2014, Yongding County was abolished and Yongding District of Longyan city was established.
Yongding is a "Southern Mining Area" and "hometown of Flue-cured Tobacco", with geothermal resources ranking first in Longyan city. The rivers in the territory belong to Tingjiang, Jiulongjiang and Meijiang river systems. Tingjiang, Yongding, jinfengxi, Huangtan, Fuxi and Qiling rivers cover an area of more than 100 square kilometers. Mianhuatan Hydropower Plant is the second largest hydropower plant in Fujian Province. Yongding is the "red cradle" and an important part of the old revolutionary base area and the Central Soviet area. The revolution of 1911 broke out, and the first volunteer teacher was held in the west of Fujian Province. In the summer of 1926, the first rural branch of the Communist Party of China in Fujian Province was established in Hulei. From June 29 to early July 1928, Yongding uprising was held to establish the earliest Red Army in Fujian. Yongding is the "hometown of Hakka" and a pure Hakka county. It is one of the important settlements and distribution centers for Hakka people. It is also a key county for National Taiwan work, "a base for cross-strait exchanges" and one of the eight hometown of overseas Chinese in Fujian Province.
Yongding is the "hometown of Tulou", the birthplace and core distribution area of Fujian Tulou. In July 2008, Yongding Hakka Tulou was successfully listed in the world cultural heritage list. In December 2013, Yongding County won the title of "top 100 tourism counties in China".
Yongding local specialties mainly include flue-cured tobacco, Yongding dried vegetables, red persimmon, WANYING tea and Morinda officinalis. Special snacks mainly include Qilin reincarnation, Kongming Jiejian, luanshi Diaohua, Bacui Zuixian, Caigan Suanbu, beef balls, taro dumplings, babaofan, Siguo soup, white chopped chicken (duck), Ciba, etc. In March 2019, it was listed as the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area sub County list.
Historical evolution
Yongding belonged to Qimin in the Zhou Dynasty, Minzhong in the Qin Dynasty, Minyue in the early Han Dynasty, and Jian'an in the Wu state in the Three Kingdoms.
In the third year of Taikang (282), Yongding ruled Xinluo County, Jin'an County, which was under the jurisdiction of Yangzhou. In the first year of Yuankang (291), Yongding was under the jurisdiction of Jiangzhou.
Northern and Southern Dynasties Song Tai first four years (468), belongs to Jin Pingjun. Liang Tianjian (502-519) belongs to Nan'an county. Chen Wudi (557-559), Yongding belongs to Nan'an County of minzhou.
In the ninth year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (589), the two counties of Fei Jian'an and Nan'an were changed to Quanzhou, and in the early year of Daye, they were restored to minzhou. Yongding governance, Quanzhou is subordinate to Fujian.
Tingzhou, capital of the United States
Tang Wude first year (618), belongs to Jianzhou. In the 24th year of Kaiyuan (736), the cave of Kaifu Prefecture was set up in Tingzhou, which governs Xinluo County, Changting County and Huanglian county. In the first year of Tianbao (742), Tingzhou was changed to linting county (in the first year of Qianyuan (758), Tingzhou was restored to linting County, which was still called linting County after entering the Song Dynasty), Xinluo county was changed to Longyan County, and Yongding County belonged to Longyan County of linting County. In the fourth year of Dali (769), the huleixiabao in Longyan was set up in shanghangchang. In 777, Longyan county was transferred to Zhangzhou. Shanghangchang is separated from Longyan and directly under Tingzhou. Yongding governance belongs to Tingzhou shanghangchang (Governance in today's Yongding County Hulei town).
In the first year of Zhou Xiande, the 12th year of Baoda in the Southern Tang Dynasty (954), after the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, he moved to shanghangchang (now Beishan village, Gaopi Town, Yongding County). Yongding is still under the leadership.
In the fifth year of Chunhua of Song Dynasty (994), shanghangchang was promoted as a county. In the second year of Zhidao (996), Shanghang County moved to Baisha (now Shanghang County). Yongding governance is linting County Shanghang County.
In 1278, Tingzhou was upgraded to Lu. In 1281, the six counties of Tingzhou road were the fiefs of nangjiazhen, the daughter of Kublai Khan, the emperor of the Yuan Dynasty. Tingzhou Baxi Pavilion
In the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1368), Tingzhou road was renamed as Tingzhou Prefecture, which belonged to the Department of politics of Chengxuan County, Fujian Province. Yongding ruled the land and was subordinate to Shanghang County of Tingzhou Prefecture. In the sixth year of Tianshun (1462), a peasant uprising called "white eyebrow" broke out in shengyunli, Shanghang County, "breaking the rule of the county and killing dukuai". The peasant uprising led by Zhong San and Li Zhongduan broke out in Houxi Nanli. In the 14th year of Chenghua (1478), governor Gao Ming of Fujian Province, on the grounds of "going to rule the remote", "stubborn people in remote mountains", "tough people in dangerous places" and "guiding the people to pacify the people", and with the approval of the imperial court, he established Yongding County under Tingzhou Prefecture by analyzing the five mile and nineteen maps of xanan, Jinfeng, Toyota, Taiping and Shengyun in Shanghang County It remained unchanged until the Qing Dynasty. From the founding of the county to the early Republic of China, the region and boundary remained unchanged.
In 1913, the government system was abolished, belonging to xiludao. In the third year of the Republic of China, Xi Lu Road was changed to Ting Zhang Road, belonging to Ting Zhang road. In the fifth year of the Republic of China, Dao was abolished and Zhili was established in Fujian Province. In December of the 22nd year of the Republic of China, after the "Fujian incident", it belonged to Longting province. In July of the 23rd year of the Republic of China, it was the seventh administrative supervision district of Fujian Province. From 24 to 25, it was the sixth administrative supervision district. In April of the 25th year of the Republic of China, Fengren city belonged to Shanghang, Hexi to Yongding, zoumakeng, aoxia and xiaqikeng to Shanghang, Chixi and Sanba to Huangtan River, Hedong to Yongding and Hexi to Shanghang. In March of the Republic of China, the bamboo stoves in Fengshi special area, Hongshan Township of Shanghang County and Longyan county were assigned to Yongding.
During the second Civil Revolutionary War (1927-1937), the county Soviet government was established in 1929, which belonged to the Soviet government in Western Fujian in 1930. It had jurisdiction over 12 districts, 123 townships and 1323 villages. In 1935, the county was transformed into a military and Political Committee in southwest Fujian, and then a Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China in the border areas of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi. In March 1938, it turned to revolutionary base point village activities.
In September 1949, the county people's democratic government was established and the administrative system in the period of the Republic of China was abolished. It has jurisdiction over nine districts, belonging to the eighth special district. In January 1950, the county people's democratic government was changed to the county people's government, and the number of districts under its jurisdiction remained unchanged. In April 1950, the eighth special area was renamed Longyan special area, which is subordinate to Longyan special area. In February 1951, Hushan Township, Pinghe County, Longxi District, was transferred to Yongding, and Hushan District, the Tenth District, was added. In February 1952, Qidong and Tangxi districts were added. In June 1956, 12 districts were merged into one county town (Fengcheng town) and seven districts. In April 1957, the district system was abolished and one town and 36 townships were set up. In December, Hongjiao, Xinan and Wubei in Hexi Township, Shanghang Prefecture, were transferred to Yongding. In February 1958, Gaopi's Youyuan (including Longxing, Zhonglian and Lianhe villages) was assigned to Hongfang township of Longyan County; in September, 37 townships in the county were merged into one town and 12 townships; in October, the people's commune system was established, and 13 townships were changed into 13 people's communes. In December 1959, pioneer tobacco farm was established. In 1960, 13 communes were merged into 9 communes; in 1961, they were adjusted to 38 communes, of which, except for 6 communes under Chengguan commune and 2 communes under Fengshi commune, the remaining 30 communes belong to 6 working committees. Xixi farm was set up in 1963. In March 1965, Xixi commune was merged into Xixi farm; meanwhile, the working committee was abolished, and 38 communes and 2 farms were merged into 25 communes and 2 farms. In 1970, Longyan area was renamed as Longyan area, which belongs to Longyan area. In December 1970, it was merged into 15 communes and one farm, with 222 production teams and 2435 production teams under its jurisdiction. In November 1972, Xixi farm was restored.
Fengcheng town was established in July 1983. In May 1984, kanshi commune was changed into kanshi town; in July, township system was restored, Xixi farm was merged into Xixi Township, with 2 towns, 15 townships and 1 farm; in September, Jinsha was set up as a township from suburban township. In June 1987, Xiayang withdrew the township to build a town; in July, hugang set up a township from Gaopi and Daxi set up a township from Hukeng; by the end of the year, the county set up three towns, 17 townships and one farm. In October 1992, Fushi, Gaopi and Hulei successively withdrew their townships to build towns. In 1993, Hukeng removed its township to build a town. Peifeng set up a township from kanshi, Longtan set up a township from Fushi, and Chen Dong set up a township from Qiling. In 1994, Peifeng moved from township to town. In November 1996, the State Council approved the establishment of Longyan as a city. In 1997, Longtan withdrew its township to build a town, and Gaotou set up a township from Guzhu. In September 1998, Fengshi City withdrew the township and built a town. So far, the county has 10 towns and 14 townships.
On December 13, 2014, Yongding County was abolished and Yongding District of Longyan city was established. The former administrative region of Yongding County was the administrative region of Yongding District. The people's Government of Yongding District was stationed at No. 2, West Jiuyi street, Fengcheng town.
In 2015, Fengcheng town set up streets instead of towns. Hugang township was replaced by township.
