Hanshan County, which belongs to Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province, is located in the North Bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the east of central Anhui and the shore of Chaohu Lake. The total area is 1047 square kilometers.
Hanshan has a history of more than 1300 years since it was established as a county in the sixth year of Wude (623). It is the hometown of Wu and Chu in the spring and Autumn period and is known as the head of Wu and the tail of Chu. Historical evolution
In Qin Dynasty, Hanshan was located in Liyang County, belonging to Jiujiang county.
In the fourth year of Gaozu in the Western Han Dynasty (203 BC), Liyang belonged to Huainan state. In the first year of Yuanshou (122 BC), except Huainan, Liyang still belonged to Jiujiang county. When Emperor Wu set up thirteen prefectures, he changed Jiujiang county to Yangzhou, and Liyang belonged to Yangzhou. Later Han Dynasty because of it.
Xinmang changed Jiujiang county to Yanping county and Liyang county to Mingyi county.

In the Western Jin Dynasty, Liyang first belonged to Huainan County of Yangzhou. In the first year of Yongxing (304), it was a new Liyang county. In the second year of Daxing in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (319), it was divided into Liyang county and Longkang county was set up by overseas Chinese in the West. During the northern and Southern Dynasties, in the second year of Yongchu (421), Longkang belonged to Liyang County of Southern Yuzhou, and in the seventh year of Yuanjia (430), it belonged to Liyang County of Yuzhou. In 623, Hanshan county was set up in the western region of Liyang County, which was named after Hanshan. Hanshan, also known as Hengshan. In 1276, Hanshan belonged to wanhu, the governor of Huaixi Prefecture.
