Shouxian County, belonging to Huainan City, Anhui Province, is located in the middle of Anhui Province, on the South Bank of the middle reaches of Huaihe River, adjacent to Changfeng County in the East, Huainan City and Fengtai County in the north, Huoqiu County in the west, and Lu'an City and Feixi County in the South. Shouxian, also known as Shouzhou and Shouchun, is one of the first three cities selected as national historical and cultural cities in Anhui Province. In the fourth year of emperor Gaozu (203 BC), yingbu was granted the title of king of Huainan, and Shouchun was the kingdom of Huainan in Liuzhou (today's Lu'an City); when yingbu rebelled, Gaozu established his son Liu Chang as king of Huainan, and Shouchun was the capital; when Liu Chang died, Emperor Wen established his eldest son Liu An as king of Huainan, and Shouchun was still the capital; in the first year of Yuanshou (122 BC), Emperor Wu rebelled and died, and Shouchun was the headquarters of Jiujiang County; in the fifth year of Yuanfeng( In 106 BC, the Han Dynasty set up the Department of the governor of thirteen prefectures, and Shouchun was the seat of Jiujiang county. Jiujiang county belongs to the History Department of Yangzhou.
During the Three Kingdoms period, Jianghuai was the center of Zhan Chong, Shouchun was the center of Wei Huainan county and Yangzhou.
At the beginning of the Western Jin Dynasty, he moved to Yangzhou to take charge of Jianye (now Nanjing). In Yongjia period, the western area of Yangzhou was designated as Yuzhou, and Shouchun was the administrative office of Huainan County, subordinate to Yuzhou.
In the time of emperor Xiaowu in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Zheng achun changed Shouchun to Shouyang because he avoided the emperor. In the eighth year of the Taiyuan Dynasty (383), the soldiers of Fu Jian of the Qin Dynasty captured Shouyang. In the northern and Southern Dynasties, the Song Dynasty changed Shouyang to Suiyang, which was the seat of Yuzhou and also the prefecture of Nanliang. The Southern Qi Dynasty replaced the Song Dynasty and renamed Shouyang as the governing body of Yuzhou. Northern Wei Dynasty slightly Huainan, also known as Shouchun, for Yangzhou and Huainan county. In 588, the eighth year of emperor kaihuang of Sui Dynasty, Huainan was set up as the provincial governor of taishangshu, and Shouchun was taken as the governing body; in the next year, Chen was destroyed, and the provincial governor of Shouzhou was transferred to taishangshu. In 620, Huainan county was changed to Shouzhou, which was subordinate to Huainan road and led to three counties. In the 11th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1141), Jin Bing crossed the Huaihe River and settled Shouchun and Anfeng. He went down to Luzhou and was conquered by the song army. In the 14th year of the Zhiyuan Dynasty (1277), it set up Anfeng road general manager's office, governed Shouchun and led five counties. In the next year, Shouchun was changed into Sanfu, leading three counties. In the 28th year, it was restored to the general manager's office, leading one Prefecture and five counties. In 1364, Zhu Yuanzhang was called king of Wu according to Jianghuai. He ruled Shouchun as Shouzhou and was subordinate to Linhao prefecture (later renamed Fengyang Prefecture and now Fengyang County).
In the Ming Dynasty, Shouzhou belonged to Fengyang Prefecture of nanzhili. In 1369, the second year of Hongwu (1369), Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty, Shouzhou belonged to Zhongshu province of the capital. In the fourth year, Shouchun, Anfeng and Xiacai counties were merged into Shouzhou and ling2 counties, which belonged to Linhao prefecture (later changed to Fengyang prefecture). In 1421, Emperor Chengzu moved his capital to Beiping prefecture (renamed Shuntian Prefecture after moving the capital), and Fengyang Prefecture was established in Nanjing.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Shouzhou belonged to Fengyang Prefecture of Jiangnan Province, with two counties. Shunzhi eighteen years (1661) set Jiangnan province left, right Chengzheng secretary, Fengyang government subordinate to the left secretary. In the sixth year of Kangxi (1667), Anhui Province was located in Jiangnan province. The former Zuo buzhengsi of Jiangnan province was renamed Anhui buzhengsi. The first year of the Republic of China (1912) abandoned Daofu, changed Shouzhou to Shouxian, Zhili in Anhui Province. Three years of the Republic of China (1914), the restoration of road, Shouxian is huaisidao (governance Fengyang County). In 1928, he withdrew from Daoism and returned to the province. In October 1932, Shouxian county was divided into the fourth administrative supervision district of Anhui Province, and the commissioner was stationed in Shouxian; in December 1938, Shouxian county was changed into the third district, and the commissioner was successively stationed in Lihuang (now Jinzhai) and Lu'an; in winter 1940, Shouxian county was changed into the second district.
In January 1949, Shouxian county was peacefully liberated. During the period of military control, shouhe county was under the leadership of the second prefectural committee of the CPC Jianghuai district Party committee. At the same time, shouhe county was established in the area adjacent to Hefei and Dingyuan county to the east of Wabu Lake in Shouxian county. In February, the military control commission was abolished, a democratic government was established, and Shouxian county was transferred to the West Anhui administrative office; meanwhile, the northern mountain villages of Fengtai County were assigned to Shouxian County, with Bagong and Beiwai townships. In June, shouhe county was abolished, and the originally designated Wadong area still belonged to Shouxian County, which was subordinate to the Lu'an special area of the people's Administrative Office of Northern Anhui.
In August 1952, it was attached to Lu'an District of Anhui Province. In February 1954, some administrative villages in the northeast of the county, including ershidian Township, kaidian Township and Beiwai Township, were assigned to Huainan City; in October 1954, three natural villages near Wushan temple in douzhen Township, Tushan District, Feixi County, were assigned to Shouxian county and Wushan Township, Sanyi district. In December 1958, Anfeng county was established in the south of zhenwumiao Zhengyangguan line of Shouxian county and the west of the south of Wabu. Shijiaji was set up in the county, which was subordinate to Lu'an district. The rest of Shouxian county was still subordinate to Huainan City. In April of the next year, Anfeng county was withdrawn and Shouxian county was restored. Shouxian county was subordinate to Lu'an district. In July 1965, Xiatang, Yangmiao, Shuihu and Yanggong in the east of Shouxian county were divided and handed over to Changfeng County of Hefei city.
On December 3, 2015, the State Council (guohan No. 206) approved to put Shouxian County of Lu'an City under the jurisdiction of Huainan City.
On April 29, 2019, the people's Government of Anhui Province approved Shouxian county to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county sequence.
