Yixing, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, is managed by Wuxi. It is located in the southwest of Jiangsu Province and the center of Shanghai Nanjing Hangzhou triangle. The water surface of Taihu Lake in the East is connected with the water surface of Taihu Lake in Suzhou. Historical evolution

Yixing, formerly known as Jingyi, belonged to Wu in the spring and Autumn period.

In the 26th year of the reign of the king of Qin (221 BC), Jingyi was changed to Yangxian county.

In 195 B.C., Yangxian county was renamed Marquis state of Yangxian, and in 168 B.C., Emperor Wen of Han Dynasty was renamed Yangxian county.

From the second year of Tai'an to the fourth year of Yongjia (303-310) in the Western Jin Dynasty, the imperial court set up Yixing County, belonging to Yangzhou, in order to commend Zhou Yao (the eldest son of Zhou Chu) for his contribution to Sanxing Yibing's pacification.

In 422, sui'an county was put under the jurisdiction of Yixing county.

Sui kaihuang nine years (589), renamed Yixing County, Changzhou.

In 619, Yixing county was divided into Yangxian county and Linjin county. In this county, the county was changed into the state capital; in 624, the county was renamed Nanxing County; in 625, the county was withdrawn and renamed Yixing county.

In 976, in order to avoid Zhao Guangyi's taboo, it was changed to Yixing County, belonging to Changzhou.

In Yuan Dynasty, Yixing county changed its state capital several times.

In 1369, Yixing county was rebuilt.

In 1726, it was divided into two counties, Yixing and Jingxi.

In 1912, Jingxi County was abolished and merged into Yixing county.

In April 1949, Yixing county was under the jurisdiction of South Jiangsu administrative office of East China military and political Commission.

In June 1949, Yixing County belonged to Changzhou district.

In January 1953, Yixing County belonged to Suzhou special district.

In February 1956, Yixing County belonged to Zhenjiang District.

In March 1967, Zhenjiang area was renamed Zhenjiang area, and Yixing county belongs to Zhenjiang area.

In 1983, Yixing county was subordinate to Wuxi City.

On January 9, 1988, the State Council officially approved the abolition of Yixing county and the establishment of Yixing City (county-level city).

The highest peak of Yixing City is huangtading, with an altitude of 611.5 meters; the eastern part is Taihu Lake area, suitable for planting all kinds of vegetables; the northern and western parts are plain area and low-lying polder area respectively.

Yixing mountain belongs to the aftervein of Tianmu Mountain, with three highest peaks in southern Jiangsu Province. Among them, mingling putaoling is 611.5 meters above sea level, the second peak in Jiangsu Province.
