Historical evolution
Honggang District, named after Honggang (now Xingshugang) oilfield, originally belongs to the Second District of Anda county. after the founding of the people's Republic of China, Honggang district was separated from the Second District in November 1949 and added the Tenth District. In March 1955, Honggang district was renamed zhongneipao district. In April 1956, Honggang township was replaced by Xingshugang township. In January 1958, Xingshugang township was merged into Yihe Township and renamed Taiyangsheng people's commune in September 1958,.
